The trailer and poster for Julie Delpy‘s comedy 2 Days in New York have gone online. The film stars Delpy and Chris Rock as a couple who are put through a hectic two days when the family of Delpy’s family comes to visit. I haven’t seen Delpy’s previous film, 2 Days in Paris, and I missed New York when it was at Sundance, but this looks like a cute little movie, and I like what I’m seeing from the two leads in this trailer.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer and poster. The film also stars Albert Delpy, Alexia Landeau, and Alex Nahon. 2 Days in New York hits VOD on July 6th before opening in theaters on August 10th.
Here’s the official synopsis for 2 Days in New York:
Marion and Mingus live cozily–perhaps too cozily–with their cat and two young children from previous relationships. However, when Marion’s jolly father (played by director Delpy’s real-life dad), her oversexed sister, and her sister’s outrageous boyfriend unceremoniously descend upon them for a visit, it initiates two unforgettable days that will test Marion and Mingus’s relationship. With their unwitting racism and sexual frankness, the French triumvirate hilariously has no boundaries or filters… and no person is left unscathed in its wake.
Disney’s ‘Tomorrowland’ held in first place for the three-day weekend with an estimated $32.1 million. ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ came in second with $30.3 million. ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ was down 47% in third while the ‘Poltergeist’ reboot opened as expected, in fourth place.
