The Razzie Awards Names THE LAST AIRBENDER the Worst Film of 2010

The 2011 Razzie Awards were announced last night, and voters mostly just want you to know how much they hated The Last Airbender and Sex and the City 2.  The Last Airbender took home Worst Picture, Worst 3D, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, and helped earn Jackson Rathbone Worst Supporting Actor along with The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.  Meanwhile, the ladies of Sex and the City won both Worst Actress and Worst Screen Ensemble; the film itself was deemed Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel.  Hit the jump for the full list of winners.

Not to be gramatically pretentious, but I don’t really have use for an awards show that doesn’t understand the singularity of “actress” or realize that “misuse” is a word.

    The worst Actor/Actress thing seems really pointless as it is just people from badly made films. An actor/actress can only do so much to help a picture. In the end if everyone making the film is guiding them to do something they are paid to do it and nobody has to listen to the actors protests, either. I know the Razzies are just meant to be fun, but it doesn’t have to be as dumb as the movies they razz does it? Maybe it’s just considered too cruel to single out bad acting by an individual in an otherwise good film.

    Oh well, I predict a bump in Last Airbender rentals/dls, but Sex and the City 2 will not be sought out by people who like to laugh at movies.

    Seriously The Razzies to me are just pointless last year they had to take back Sandra’s award due to them looking like idiots, I guess they didn’t want to stick to their opinion. I agree with Aaron Denzel Washington said that “if a script is bad and a director is bad, there is only so much an actor/actress can do.” I really don’t think the Razzies understand this, albeit it’s just for fun. Also how can you name FOUR Actress’ for “Worst Actress”, Really?

    The Razzies are for sad, miserable people who have lost the joy of living.

    The razzies recognize that people had lots of meetings where people with power and the “know”, actually accepted the shit that was being feed.
    Studios sunk millions of dollars into these movies. Scripts were written, then re-written god knows how many times. Name directors and actors were hired. – “THIS is what you gave us?”. I like to think of the razzies more along those lines. Not necessarily the “worst”. Putting movies on pedestals often tends to take away from it, like making every band fit a genre.

    We see thing things the way do,do not do or just the way our minds allow us to. But sometimes things are not what they seem to be. The last air bender was intended to challange adults perception and saw through a childs eyes.
