Warner Bros. enjoyed tons of success with Christopher Nolan‘s Batman movies and Man on Steel, but in 2016 we’ll find out if the studio can take it to cinematic universe levels and carve out a spot for itself in the superhero movie realm alongside Disney and Marvel. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice should make for one heck of a first impression – one way or the other – and based on that first trailer, it looks as though Suicide Squad is going to serve as a fun and refreshing change of pace after that.

Those are bound to be heavy-hitters but the Warner Bros. 2016 line-up is also packed with non-superhero projects that boast original concepts, cute cats and the return of one of the studio’s most successful franchises.
