Sony Pictures has released a collection of new 22 Jump Street images and a new behind-the-scenes featurette for directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s comedy sequel.  In this featurette, the filmmaking duo discuss the challenge of recapturing the magic that made the first film so great, and stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are up to the task.  Lord and Miller have made a habit of greatly surpassing expectations, and I have no reason to believe 22 Jump Street will be any different for those wary of a comedy sequel.  The follow-up finds Hill and Tatum’s characters taking their undercover operation to a college campus, and I can’t wait to see what surprises are in store when the film opens in theaters next month.

Here’s the official synopsis for 22 Jump Street:

After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don't have to just crack the case—they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.
