Red-Band Trailer for 22 JUMP STREET Starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill

     December 16, 2013

Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Phil Lord and Chris Miller‘s comedy sequel 22 Jump Street, and it’s red-band.  The film finds Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) infiltrating a college campus, and their partnership is tested again except this time they’re back in the roles they had when they were in high school for real—Jenko is the jock, and Schmidt is in the bohemian art scene.  It’s a red-band trailer for language, and the crime-fighting duo are up to their same old tricks: swearing, locking and loading, infiltrating the dealers, and finding the suppliers.  There’s also a couple of fun, unexpected cameos at the end.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The film also stars Ice Cube, Amber Stevens, Jillian Bell, and Craig Roberts22 Jump Street opens June 13, 2014.

Here’s the official synopsis for 22 Jump Street:

After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don’t have to just crack the case – they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.

So it looks like they may have Vietnamese Jesus now, judging by that new church.

There wasn’t a ton of funny jokes in this trailer, but that joke right at the end had me laughing super hard! Hope it’s as good if not better than the first and they’re just saving all the jokes for the film.

Looks like they are taking the hangover 2 route, as in the same plot with different gags, but i really surprisingly liked the 1st one , so will be watching this.

Agreed that it looks like the same plot as the first but I laughed so I’m good.

yea the last part did for me

Just me or did the trailer self-reference studio expectations and funding a couple times? “Nobody gave a **** about the reboot” and “Jump Street has a ton of funding to make sure it keeps going.” That’s pretty tongue in cheek, I love it.

Yeah its brilliant, but its also following up the equally meta-scene in the first movie explaining 21 Jump Street as an unwanted reboot of an 80′s program

21 Jump Street introduced me to Dave Franco. 21 Jump Street made me hate him. I really can’t get over my hatred for him. I don’t know why but I just do not like him.

You’ll hate him even more after seeing Now You See Me. I did.

I did indeed hate him even more after seeing now you see me. Now you see me was a terrible enough movie in its own right but to be sitting in the theater and suddenly see him when you didn’t know he was in it just show up really made things that much less enjoyable for me.

Also seeing him show up in Warm Bodies was pretty terrible. That moment where he pretended to swing a Baseball Bat in the stadium really just brought the entire quality of the movie down for me.

Don’t watch the last season of Scrubs then

Season 8? I refuse to acknowledge season 9 as anything other than a spinoff. I don’t recall seeing him in season 8 but I didn’t know to look for him back then. Season 8 did have some one that I absolutely can’t stand as well though and in the same sense that I don’t like Franco I also don’t like that intern in Season 8. It is the guy from Parks and Recreation. Seeing Cox fire him was one of the most joyful moments I can think of on a TV show and other than that I really considered Season 8 to be a terrific send off of that show and it really brought things back down to a better tone from the over the top Season 7 and I loved the final episode, but back to people I don’t like and I like most of Park’s and Recreation but I despise all parts of the show that deal with Tom Haveford the same guy from Scrubs season 8. His character is too irritating for me and he brings down an otherwise pretty good ensemble. The only good thing about him is that he brings in the hilarious Jon ?Rafio? his guest appearances are always hilarious.

I think I hate too many people. Sorry for another rant.
