While most of you only know John Krasinski from his work as Jim on NBC’s hit show “The Office”, he’s now also going to be known as a writer/director, as his debut film “Brief Interviews With Hideous Men” premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The movie is based on the book by David Foster Wallace and it’s the exploration of men and their relationships with women. Here’s the synopsis:
Sara Quinn (Julianne Nicholson) is interviewing men as part of her graduate studies. Her intellectual endeavor has emotional consequences as the men’s twisted and revealing stories are juxtaposed against the backdrop of her own experience. As she begins to listen closely to the men around her, Sara must ultimately reconcile herself to the darkness that lies below the surface of human interactions.
Anyway, while some first time filmmakers are lucky to get one star in their movie…John lined up a hell of a cast with Timothy Hutton, Christopher Meloni, Will Arnett, Dominic Cooper, Rashida Jones, Max Minghella, and Lou Taylor Pucci all doing at least small parts.
In the coming days I’ll be posting an exclusivevideo interview with John, Dominic Cooper and Julianne Nicholson…but until then…here are 3 clips from the movie. Take a look:
Clip 1 – Ben Shenkman describes his reaction to pleasure
Clip 2 – Josh Charles tries to explain where things are headed in his relationship
Clip 3 – Chris Messina tells Julianne Nicholson what he likes about her
