30 ROCK Expands to Comedy Central and WGN

Even though it’s only completed three seasons, cable channels have realized that “30 Rock” is a bona fide hit that should live on through the ages by the magic of syndication.  To that end, Variety is reporting that Comedy Central and WGN have, combined, ponied up an impressive $800,000 per episode to air the show Monday through Friday beginning in 2011.  This also means that “30 Rock” will most likely live for not only a fourth season, but a fifth season as well in order to reach the 100-episode purchase required of most syndication.  There wasn’t much doubt about a fifth-season pick-up although NBC can be so crazy/stupid that you never quite know what they’re going to do next.

Season 3 of “30 Rock” hits DVD on September 22nd and the show returns for its 4th season on October 15th.
