Today, Tangled hits theaters and marks the release of Disney Animation Studio’s 50th film. To celebrate the occasion, Disney has released a short video that counts all fifty films set to the song “Dreams” by Brandi Carlile. I don’t know why they didn’t set it to a song from one of the animated Disney movies instead, but Carlile’s song works fine. Hit the jump to check out the video.

“Song of the South” wasn’t released by Walt Disney ANIMATION Studios. It is a live-action film that features animated sequences.

Allison: Disney Animation Studio’s 50th film.
Obviously the films you mentioned were made by different Disney studios.
What happened to Valiant? That was also a Walt Disney animated movie and I didn’t see it on the list. Did I miss it?
Valiant along with Toy story and Cars was a Disney Pixar film.
Actually Valiant wasnt a pixar film, it is one of the incomplete disney movies, not quite sure what that is, but its in the same chategory as “the brave little toaster” “the wild” and the winnie the pooh films i think

I have an original painting signed by Walt called Lullaby Times. I can’t find any information on this painting anywhere. Last time I was at the magic kingdom I saw a copy of the painting hanging in the hallway of first aid. This painting is 5 bunnies snuggled in bed. Can anyone help with the history of this treasure!! Why is “Dinosaur” part of this sequence?? It was made by The Secret Lab, a special division of Disney that made this film and then folded after making only one film (although per my memory of 1999 I think there was another film, “Wild Life”, that it planned on making after “Dinosaur”.) Until 2008, when disneyanimation.com was launched, fans agreed that “Dinosaur” doesn’t belong in the sequence, but it revealed in August 2008 that Disney officially includes “Dinosaur” in the sequence. I’ve been wondering why for a long time and no Internet site of any kind has been helpful revealing the reason (merely saying “it meets the criteria to belong in the sequence” isn’t enough info.)
