MTV is gearing up to debut a new scripted comedy series called I Just Want My Pants Back, and we here at Collider have been provided with an exclusive clip to share with our readers. The show comes from executive producer Doug Liman (Mr. and Mrs. Smith) and follows a group of friends navigating post-college life in Brooklyn. The show is based on the book of the same name by David J. Rosen and is set to debut with two back-to-back episodes on Thursday, February 2nd at 11pm ET/PT. The pilot was written by Rosen and directed by Liman (who also helmed the pilot of The O.C.). Hit the jump to check out the clip.

Waiting sucks. So say the creative team behind HBO’s vampire/werewolf/faerie/witch melodrama, True Blood. This time around they’ve crafted a teaser that’s a bit more sinister as fans of the show’s previous seasons will appreciate. While the teaser doesn’t show any footage, it’s a nice reminder that summer is just around the bend and with it comes another season of True Blood. New episodes start June 24th.
The wait is a lot less longer for the second half of The Walking Dead’s second season. Although the episode “Nebraska” airs on February 12th, you can watch the first four minutes here. Hit the jump to check them both out.

In three weeks, your favorite zombies will shamble back onto your TV screen as AMC’s The Walking Dead returns. In the meantime, you can get caught up on all of our previous episode recaps here. We’ve also got a ton of new images from the second season of The Walking Dead, including action shots, character profile images and behind-the-scenes captures. If you’re all caught up on the show so far, feel free to peruse at will. For those of you who aren’t up to speed with the current season, I’d avoid looking at the gallery as some of the images reveal important plot points of the story so far. The Walking Dead returns on Sunday, February 12th on AMC. Hit the jump to check out the images and a sneak peek at the next episode from Season Two titled, “Nebraska.”

A classic marketing strategy over at Showtime is to stream premiere episodes a week or two before the airdate. The network has done it for new seasons of Dexter and Weeds, as well as new series Shameless and Homeland. It must be working, because Showtime has just posted the pilot for the upcoming comedy House of Lies for all to see. I really like the cast: Don Cheadle, Kristin Bell, Ben Schwartz, and Josh Lawson star as a management consulting team. Hit the jump to watch Episode 1, “Gods of Dangerous Financial,” before House of Lies premieres on January 8.

Steve Buscemi proved to be a very capable host on last night’s very funny episode of Saturday Night Live. As it turns out, the week when a major pedophilia case is in the news is a great week to have Buscemi in the troupe. But given his range, Buscemi is also suited to play the ethical Commissioner Gordon when Andy Samberg and Co. needed the character for their SNL digital short. Samberg plays Batman, paying particular attention to his ability to sneak up on on Gordon, and vanish into thin air with the same ease. The stealth jokes escalate from the basic setup to the point where… well, hit the jump to see for yourself.

Last month, we showed you a clip from Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant‘s new TV series Life’s Too Short starring Warwick Davis (Harry Potter). The clip had Johnny Depp lampooning himself by going after Gervais’ hosting of the Golden Globes. It was pretty funny and it was good to know that someone was looking out for Tim Allen. This new clip absolutely blows it away. In the latest clip, Liam Neeson comes in to talk with Gervais and Merchant about expanding into comedy. Neeson, Gervais, and Merchant use Neeson’s dramatic gravitas to brilliant effect and show that improv, Oscar-nominees, and contracting AIDS from an African prostitute is an odd but hilarious mixture.
Hit the jump to check out the clip. Life’s Too Short began airing yesterday on BBC Two and will air in the US on HBO next year.

This weekend, New York Comic-Con attendees got a first look at the trailer for the upcoming animated feature Justice League: Doom as well as the opening scene from Green Lantern: The Animated Series. I like that Doom is bringing back almost all the voice actors from Justice League, but the trailer is mostly just action scenes and corny one-liners. Also, I didn’t realize the new Legion of Doom is six people, which is kind of dinky when compared to the twenty or thirty featured in Justice League Unlimited. Green Lantern looks more interesting since right from the get-go we’re introduced to members of the Red Lantern Corps. It may be a bit confusing to those who don’t know the character beyond this summer’s disappointing blockbuster, but I assume there will be some kind of exposition in the hour-long premiere.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer and the opening scene. Justice League Doom is due out on Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD in early 2012. Green Lantern: The Animated Series premieres November 11th at 7/6c on Cartoon Network.

Earlier today, we highlighted an all-new promo featuring John Goodman’s arrival at Greendale Community College on the NBC comedy series Community. Now, NBC has released a highlight reel featuring some pretty decent spots for both new and returning comedies. Along with some more goodness between Goodman and Dean Pelton (Jim Rash), you’ll find some new clips from other returning series like Parks & Recreation and The Office (however I don’t think any of the James Spader footage is new) as well as some promising bits from Whitney starring Whitney Cummings, Up All Night starring Christina Applegate and Will Arnett, and Free Agents with Hank Azaria and Kathryn Hahn. You can check out the video in its entirety after the jump.

I liked Tron: Legacy more than most of you, but I understand the complaints. I hope that Disney XD’s new animated series Tron: Uprising is a source of redemption, much like Genndy Tartakovsky’s Star Wars: Clone Wars rose from the ashes of disappointment in the prequels. After all, few worlds are better suited for animation than the Grid.
Disney XD premiered new footage at Comic-Con last week, and posted the clip online today. As expected, it looks pretty darn cool. Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens, Lance Henriksen, and Bruce Boxleitner provide voices for the series. Watch the new clip after the break.

Personally, I’m one of those who wasn’t all that disappointed when NBC decided not to pick up David E. Kelley’s new pilot for Wonder Woman, especially after seeing that ridiculous suit that Adrianne Palicki was supposed to wear as the superhero (even after the changes to the wardrobe). However, for those desperate to see anything from the now archived pilot for the series, we have literally just a few seconds of Palicki looking somewhat intimidating, but mostly just kind of sexy, from the one and only episode shot for the potential series. It’s nothing to get too excited about, but if you really must see Wonder Woman in motion, here’s your chance. Hit the jump to check out the incredibly brief clip.

Fans of the NBC comedy series Community should recall a certain episode (directed by Submarine helmer and IT Crowd star Richard Ayoade) where Abed (Danny Pudi) nearly missed out on his big surprise birthday party while having a Dinner with Andre inspired conversation with Jeff (Joel McHale) where the eccentric pop culture obsessed character revealed his escapades in a walk-on role on the ABC comedy series Cougar Town. Well, in an awesome twist, Abed actually showed up early on in the hour-long season finale of Cougar Town and he completely steals the scene away from Dan Byrd and Busy Phillips, two of the series regulars. Though it’s just a tiny moment, this is seriously one of the coolest crossovers I’ve ever seen on TV, and you can see it in all its glory after the jump.

One of the nice things about hulu (hint: it’s not the constant advertising), is that it gives Saturday Night Live a space to post extra sketches that get cut from broadcast. Generally speaking you can always tell why the sketches were cut based on their relative shittiness, but occasionally a little gem slips through the cracks. Case in point is this pretty funny little number cut from the weekend’s season finale episode that probably would have been a show standout had it been aired. The sketch sees Justin Timberlake play Amadeus Mozart (a stretch I know, but go with it) who has decided to transition into acting. Cue a pithy little skit that allows Timberlake to mock his own acting career and sneak in a dig at Justin Bieber, because the world just can’t seem to get enough of that. Hint the jump for all of the deleted hilarity you missed from Saturday’s show.

Today it’s ABC’s turn to unveil their new series for the upcoming TV season after announcing which of their running series did and didn’t make the cut for another season. But now we have the full schedule which includes timeslots for all the new series including Apartment 23 starring James Van Der Beek, the remake of Charlie’s Angels, Leslie Bibb in Good Christian Belles, Tim Allen’s return to TV in Last Man Standing, Dan Fogler in Man Up, Missing starring Ashley Judd, the fairytale drama Once Upon a Time, Christina Ricci in Pan Am, the high society drama Revenge, the Amazon-set The River, Henry Ian Cusick in Scandal, and the comedies Suburgatory and Work It.

NBC has released the first clips for all their new 2011-2012 dramas: Prime Suspect, The Playboy Club, Smash, Grimm, Awake, and The Firm. Based on initial impressions, Awake is the one I am now most looking forward to. The clips promise terrific entertainment for a structure geek like myself, splitting screen time between two realities. The 1960s-set The Playboy Club and modern fairy tale Grimm both have interesting premises, but the clips look too silly out of context. I hold out hope the subject matter makes for a better series. Prime Suspect looks like a kickass role for star Maria Bello — pencil her in for an Emmy nomination.

NBC has released the first clips for all their new 2011-2012 comedies: Whitney, Up All Night, Free Agents, Are You There Vodka? It’s Me Chelsea, Best Friends Forever, and Bent. Nothing hooked me immediately, but it’s hard to distill sitcoms into a 60-second clip filled with laughs. Based on first impressions, my top pick is Bent. I’ve really enjoyed David Walton in previous NBC comedies Perfect Couples and 100 Questions — I hope Bent is the one that keeps him on the air for more than a half-season. Plus, any show that includes Jeffrey Tambor weekly has a leg up on the competition. Arrested Development love will likewise ensure that I check out Will Arnett in Up All Night, especially when you surround him with two very funny ladies in Christina Applegate and Maya Rudolph — I just wish the humor wasn’t so baby-centric.
