Considering most of the ad campaign for the first season of American Horror Story highlighted some of the more strange aspects of the series like the Rubber Man and various S&M related imagery, it wouldn't be a surprise if the marketing for the new season took a strange approach as well. We'll have to wait quite awhile to find out as the second season doesn't even start airing until the spooky month of October. However, what might keep you busy until then is trying to find some old school 3D glasses that just might help see this poster a little better. I can't be sure since I don't have a pair myself, but there does seem to be some photo trickery. See for yourself after the jump!
Here's the new poster courtesy of Spoiler TV:

A promo poster for Robert Rodriguez' Machete sequel, Machete Kills, has popped up online. Unfortunately, Machete was a massive disappointment and I'm wary of a sequel, which is part two in a planned trilogy; the finale will be Machete Kills Again. Machete misunderstood what a gritty B-movie was supposed to be, gussied it up with movie stars, used a bloated storyline to accommodate all of them, and its biggest crime was making Machete (Danny Trejo) a supporting character in his own movie. Hopefully, Machete Kills will be leaner and trust Trejo to carry the flick. The plot has Machete tasked to "take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space." So…space weapons and global war…that's leaner, right?

Hit the jump to check out the promo poster. Filming on Machete Kills is set to begin filming in April.

The poster, which showed up at the European Film Market in Berlin, comes to us via ComingSoon.

Today, we're proud to premiere the poster for Whit Stillman's Damsels in Distress. The film centers on a group of women in college whose friendship is strained when they become romantically entangled with a series of men. Damsels is Stillman's first film since 1998's The Last Days of Disco, and I'm bummed that a last-minute schedule change at the Toronto International Film Festival caused me to miss it. Thankfully, Steve said it was great and the film is set to hit theaters this spring where I'll be sure to catch it.

Hit the jump to check out the poster and here's Steve's exclusive interview with Stillman on the film. The film stars Greta Gerwig, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Carrie MacLemore, Analeigh Tipton, Hugo Becker, Ryan Metcalf, Billy Magnussen, and Adam Brody. Damsels in Distress opens in limited release on April 6th.

Here's the official synopsis for Damsels in Distress:
Damsels in Distress is a comedy about a trio of beautiful girls as they set out to revolutionize life at a grungy American university – the dynamic leader Violet Wister (Greta Gerwig), principled Rose (Megalyn Echikunwoke) and sexy Heather (Carrie MacLemore). They welcome transfer student Lily (Analeigh Tipton) into their group, which seeks to help severely depressed students with a program of good hygiene and musical dance numbers. The girls become romantically entangled with a series of men – including smooth Charlie (Adam Brody), dreamboat Xavier (Hugo Becker), the mad frat-pack of Frank (Ryan Metcalf) and Thor (Billy Magnussen) – who threaten the girls’ friendship and ...

Warner Bros. has released two posters and three banners for Wrath of the Titans. There's no kraken this time around so none of the characters are going to say, "Let's get kraken." I know the plot involves the titans getting unleashed and Zeus (Liam Neeson) asking Perseus (Sam Worthington) for some help, but I don't get the point without kraken puns. Kraken puns make the world go round.

Hit the jump to check out the posters. The film also stars Ralph Fiennes, Danny Huston, Edgar Ramirez, Bill Nighy, Toby Kebbell, and Rosamund Pike. Wrath of the Titans opens in 3D on March 30th.

Here's the official synopsis for Wrath of the Titans:
A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus (Worthington) --the demigod son of Zeus (Neeson)--is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity's lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades (Fiennes) and Poseidon (Danny Huston). The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus' godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramirez), switch loyalties and make a deal with Kronos ...

Consider this post to be our first “whip-ass” article of 2012. We’ve just received some new official images of Billy Bob Thornton from his Southern-fried action-comedy project, The Baytown Disco. The Barry Battles-directed movie follows three redneck brothers attempting to help a woman in a bad spot, only to wind up on the wrong end of the situation. The rest of the cast includes Eva Longoria, Thomas Brodie Sangster, Clayne Crawford, Michael Rapaport, Daniel Cudmore, Travis Fimmel, Andre Braugher and Paul Wesley, the latter of which we have a hi-res shot of in character. Hit the jump to check them out along with a hi-res poster for The Baytown Disco.

Check out the images below, as well as a hi-res version of the poster.

Here’s the official synopsis:
The rousing rebel spirit of a family of Southern thugs takes off at breakneck speed in “The Baytown Disco” — a wickedly playful, high-velocity action-comedy in which three infamously ruthless Alabama brothers find themselves on the wrong side of crooked cops, relentless Feds, mad mobsters, road pirates, tomahawk-wielding bikers, tricky femme fatales and an unforgettable cast of characters as colorful as they are lethal when they finally try to do a single good deed.

Academy Award® winner Billy Bob Thornton and Golden Globe winner Eva Longoria headline this wildly explosive, yet ultimately moving, tale of honor breaking out among thieves with madcap results. It all starts when the fetching Celeste (Longoria) has a falling out with her nefarious ex-husband Carlos (Thornton) who kidnaps her beloved ...

We’re about to get a brand new look at Joss Whedon’s The Avengers this Sunday during the Super Bowl (watch a teaser for the spot here), but today a couple of promotional banners hit the web. They’re reminiscent of the numerous character banners we’ve seen previously, but we get another look at the elusive Hulk. As the fllm’s release date looms closer, we should be seeing more and more of the Mark Ruffalo-infused green alter ego as the visual effects work progresses. The banners also give us a small look at Cobie Smulders’ Agent Maria Hill. In addition, a new image of Tom Hiddleston looking fairly maniacal as Loki has hit the web, so that's included after the jump as well.

Hit the jump to check out the banners. The film also stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner. The Avengers opens in IMAX 3D on May 4th.

Here's the official synopsis for Being Flynn:
Being Flynn is the new dramatic feature from Academy Award-nominated writer/director Paul Weitz (About a Boy). Adapted from Nick Flynn's 2004 memoir Another Bulls—t Night in Suck City, the movie explores bonds both unbreakable and fragile between parent and child.

Nick Flynn (portrayed in the film by Paul Dano of Little Miss Sunshine and There Will Be Blood) is a young writer seeking to define himself. He misses his late mother, Jody (four-time Academy Award nominee Julianne Moore), and her loving nature. But his father, Jonathan, is not even a memory, as Nick has not seen the man in 18 years.

Jonathan Flynn (two-time Academy Award winner Robert De Niro) has long defined himself as a great writer, "a master storyteller." After abandoning his wife and child, Jonathan scrapes through life on his own terms. Despite the occasional grandiose letter to his son, he has remained absent from Nick's life.

Suddenly facing eviction from his apartment, Jonathan impulsively reaches out to Nick and the ...

Seeing as it’s already February and that little furry rodent has predicted six more weeks of winter, we thought we’d take a look ahead to some March movie releases. Coincidentally, three big March movies have recently released new posters. First up is Disney’s March 9th release, John Carter, starring Taylor Kitsch as a Civil War vet transplanted onto Mars, in an Andrew Stanton-directed picture. Next is the Phil Lord and Chris Miller-directed 21 Jump Street, a March 16th release starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as two screw-up cops who infiltrate a local high school drug ring. Finally, we have a new poster from the Tarsem Singh project, Mirror Mirror, a Snow White adaptation featuring Lily Collins and Julia Roberts which opens March 30th. Hit the jump to see the new posters.

Here’s the first new poster from John Carter featuring a stylized Martian. Get caught up with all of our previous John Carter coverage here (via IMPAwards):

Here’s the official synopsis for John Carter:
From Academy Award(R)-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes “John Carter”–a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). “John Carter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem ...

Sometimes controversy is the best publicity. And almost three weeks before its theatrical release in France, Jean Dujardin’s new movie is already garnering a lot of press. Posters for the comedy Les Infidèles (The Players) have been deemed too provocative by the Autorité de Régulation Professionnelle de la Publicité (an organization in charge of regulating publicity) who has advised Mars Distribution to remove them “as a preventative measure” after it received several complaints from unhappy citizens and outraged feminists. Four to be precise, but enough to have the offending images taken down.

The two posters feature Jean Dujardin and co-star Gilles Lellouche in explicit positions committing adultery while lying to their wives about their whereabouts. Lellouche is telling his significant other, “Honey, I’m going to get cut off, I’m going inside a tunnel,’ as a woman is… Oh, just hit the jump to check them out and find out more.

Are they too explicit and misogynistic?
JEAN DUJARDIN POSTER – “I’m going to a meeting”

GILLES LELLOUCHE – “Honey, I’m going to get cut off, I’m going inside a tunnel”
The two actors are also featured on the cover of this month’s issue of Premiere magazine, wearing only the upper half of a suit-and-tie, with their hands covering their private parts.

Les Infidèles is a series of short films set around the theme of male infidelity as seen by seven directors, including Jean Dujardin, The Artist director Michel Hazanavicius, Gilles Lellouche, Emmanuelle Bercot, Fred Cavaye, Eric Lartigau and Alexandre Courtes. Dujardin and Lellouche also star in ...

Lionsgate has released five new character posters for What to Expect When You're Expecting, the ensemble comedy about "five couples whose intertwined lives are turned upside down by the challenges of impending parenthood." It's a great way to see pregnant versions of Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Cameron Diaz, Brooklyn Decker, and Anna Kendrick next to sassy taglines like, "If I knew I'd have a rack like this, I would've gotten knocked up years ago." I kid, but I think there's a chance this could be good. Chace Crawford, Matthew Morrison, Dennis Quaid, Chris Rock, Rodrigo Santoro, Ben Falcone, Joe Manganiello, and Rob Huebel also star. What to Expect When You're Expecting opens on May 12, 2011. The posters are after the break.

For Daniel Radcliffe’s first major role since Harry Potter, he chose to star in The Woman in Black, a gothic horror tale based off of a 1983 novel by Susan Hill. Horror movies have been lucrative as of late (Insidious, Paranormal Activity 3, The Devil Inside) and legendary studio Hammer Film Productions is delving back into the sort of film that made them popular in the UK. On this side of the pond, however, Radcliffe’s name is sure to stir up more interest than the revival of an old horror studio. With that in mind, domestic distributor CBS Films has released a collection of behind-the-scenes featurettes and clips for The Woman in Black in an effort to showcase Radcliffe’s maturity as an actor. Directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake), The Woman in Black stars Radcliffe, Janet McTeer (Tideland) and Ciaran Hinds (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and opens February 3rd. Hit the jump to check out the featurettes, clips and a new poster.

[Spoiler Warning: The following clips may contain spoilers.]
You can find the behind-the-scenes featurettes below. Most of them address Arthur Kipps, Radcliffe's character in the film. Kipps, a widower and father to a young son, is a lawyer who is trying to sell a widow's home and ends up investigating reports of a haunting in a remote town. Watkins, Hinds and producers Richard Jackson and Simon Oakes really promote Radcliffe's performance and I hope it translates into a successful film. I'm looking forward to seeing it as The Woman ...

Eventually, society will accept that people saying dirty words won't be the downfall of Western civilization. Over the past few decades, words that weren't permissible on television have become commonplace. I believe within ten years, "fuck" will be used as casually as "ass" or "damn" on network sitcoms. In this way, For a Good Time, Call… is a trailblazer in using a sitcom-y premise and filling it up with filthy language. All of the clichés are still in place, the humor is inoffensive (unless you're one of the vulgarity-western-downfall people), and the film provides a nice little distraction.

Lauren (Lauren Miller) is looking for a place to stay after breaking up with her boyfriend. Katie (Ari Graynor) is looking for a roommate after her apartment is no longer rent-controlled. The two are put together by their mutual gay-best-friend (Justin Long), but the two are off on the wrong foot before they've even agreed to live together. Ten years prior, Lauren agreed to drive home a drunk Katie, Katie accidentally flung a cup of her piss into Lauren's face, and Lauren left Katie in bad neighborhood. It's an understandable grude and neither is willing to provide the other with a second change to make a first impression, but needing money brings everyone together. When Lauren can't get her dream job at a publishing company, she decides to help Katie develop her phone sex business. Friendship happens.

For a Good Time, Call… feels like a 90-minute pilot for a 30-minute sitcom. You bring two ...

If you visit the site quite frequently, you’re probably aware of the awesomeness that is Mondo. The collectible art boutique arm of the Alamo Drafthouse is responsible for some of the coolest movie posters on the planet, and they’re gearing up to release five Planet of the Apes prints in collaboration with Sideshow Collectibles. The posters were created to commemorate the Alamo Drafthouse “Day of the Apes” event last May, in which all five Apes films were screened as a marathon on glorious 35mm. The prints have debuted on five different sites today, and we’re happy to exclusively bring you Mondo’s poster for the fifth and final entry in the original Apes franchise, Battle for the Planet of the Apes.

Hit the jump to see the fantastic exclusive poster, check out the other prints, and to find out how these lovely prints can be yours.

All prints are 24” x 36” and will be available as a set on January 26th (tomorrow) for $230. If you’re lucky and are able to nab yourself one of these fine sets, you’ll also receive an exclusive print “Alamo Drafthouse Wants You to Go Ape!” This lithograph is a variation of the 20th Century Fox poster created for the 1973 re-release of all five films in theaters, with the artwork resembling Uncle Sam. The “Go Ape!” lithograph is only available with the full set.

After the sets go on sale on January 26th, any remaining individual prints will go on sale January 27th. As always, follow @MondoNews ...

A staple of any awards season is the obligatory “If These Movie Posters Told the Truth” mock-up. However, just because the gimmick is trite doesn’t mean it’s not amusing. This year’s line-up of Academy Award nominees isn’t lacking in Oscar-bait material, with everything from The Iron Lady to The Artist. The fact that films like these so blatantly seem to fit into the category of "Oscar nominee" makes them ripe for this kind of ribbing. We've amassed a number of “honest posters” for films like The Artist, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and The Descendants, as well as a few "almost Oscar nominated" films like Shame and We Need to Talk About Kevin. Hit the jump to check them out.

The first US trailer and poster for the thriller Seeking Justice have been unveiled. The plot concerns a happily married man who enlists the help of a dangerous underground vigilante operation when his wife is brutally attacked. He soon finds out that he’s in over his head, as the vigilante syndicate has bigger plans in mind as part of his repayment for their services. The trailer is pretty much what you’d expect from an action-thriller starring Nicolas Cage. There’s nothing particularly new or interesting here, and January Jones is quickly becoming the go-to actress for the part of “traumatized wife.” Time will tell if Guy Pearce’s charisma is enough to carry the film, but based on this first look I’m not entirely sold that Seeking Justice is worth checking out (though Cage’s facial hair makes a strong case for the contrary).

Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The film also stars Harold Perrineau, Jennifer Carpenter, and Xander Berkeley. Seeking Justice opens March 16th.

Click over to Apple to watch in HD.

Here’s a synopsis for Seeking Justice:
A happily married family man's quiet life is turned upside-down when his wife is brutally attacked one night while leaving work. The husband unwittingly pulls himself into a dangerous underground vigilante operation after agreeing to an intriguing offer for a stranger to exact vengeance on is wife's attacker. While continuing to protect his wife from the truth, he quickly discovers that his quest for justice could lead to frightening and deadly consequences.

Although the release date for The Raven has been pushed back a month, that’s allowed Relativity to give us more looks at the property, like this new poster. It’s not quite as ink-soaked or blood-soaked as previous efforts and resembles more of a phoenix than a raven, but it’s stylish nonetheless. Here’s what you need to know about the posters we’ve rounded up today:

Director James McTeigue’s The Raven stars John Cusack as Edgar Allan Poe, who joins a detective (Luke Evans of Immortals) to stop a killer who’s committing crimes based on Poe’s works.
The Imposter, a documentary film by director Bart Layton (Locked Up Abroad) that follows a young Frenchman who posed as a Texas family’s 16-year-old son who had been missing for three years
From director Rodrigo Cortes (Buried) comes Red Lights, a paranormal thriller that questions the supernatural and whether a world-renowned psychic is actually gifted or just a charlatan. The film stars Robert De Niro, Cillian Murphy, Sigourney Weaver and Elizabeth Olsen.

Hit the jump to check out the full-size posters.

First up is the new poster for The Raven:

Be sure to catch up with all of our previous coverage here. Here’s the synopsis for The Raven:
In this gritty thriller, Edgar Allan Poe (John Cusack, Being John Malkovich) joins forces with a young Baltimore detective (Luke Evans, Immortals) to hunt down a mad serial killer who’s using Poe’s own works as the basis in a string of brutal murders. We’re about nine weeks away from the much-hyped release of The Hunger Games. If you’ve somehow managed to go this long without hearing about the film adaptation of the popular young adult novel series by Suzanne Collins, you can get caught up on all of our previous coverage here. After all the trailers, images and promotional pages, Lionsgate has released one last poster to remind you that the world will be watching. As one of our most anticipated films of early 2012, we’ll be right there with you.

The Hunger Games stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in a futuristic thriller where citizens of different districts are forced into gladiatorial combat in which there can be only one survivor. The film, directed by Gary Ross, also stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson and Lenny Kravitz and will open on March 23rd. Hit the jump to check out the poster.

While The Hunger Games is the first book in a trilogy, there is no guarantee that the film will be a success. For every Harry Potter or Twilight, there is an Eragon or The Golden Compass. However, Lionsgate is banking on The Hunger Games to be a strong contender to fill the current void in young adult movie franchises. Simon Beaufoy is reportedly typing away at a treatment of the second book, Catching Fire, which is arguably the strongest of the three. The sequel is set to release on November 22nd, 2013.
