Last night, Deadline broke the news that An American Werewolf In London is officially getting the remake treatment. While this isn’t huge news and has been long in the works, what is interesting is that Skybound Entertainment’s Robert Kirkman and David Albert will co-produce as a part of Skybound’s first look deal with Universal. John Landis’s son Max Landis will pen the script and is attached to direct.

Two powerhouse performers are joining forces for what could be a crazy-good new movie. Out of the American Film Market came the news that Al Pacino and Karl Urban would lead the new serial killer Hangman. According to Variety, Pacino will potray a homicide detective and Urgan will play a criminal profiler where the two will team up to find a serial killer. Co-starring Brittany Snow, Hangman will begin production on November 17 and is directed by Johnny Martin.

Another week, another Predator update, this time coming in the form of a correction courtesy of Collider’s own Adam Chitwood. First thing’s first: last week news hit the trades that Olivia Munn would be joining the new installment of the Predator franchise. In that same report, it was noted that after we’d seen the Predator ravage jungles, cities and alien planets, the new film would take place in the suburbs, something that made fans scratch their heads.

Director Shane Black didn’t elaborate any further and plot details are still relatively unknown. We do know that Black sees the film as a sequel of sorts as opposed to a straight reboot. Production is slated to begin February 2017 in Vancouver and Black’s The Predator is expected to hit theaters on February 9, 2018.

While it may be distressing for fans to know that a quality Hellraiser film might be a long ways off, there is a bit of good news: Clive Barker’s company Seraphim Inc. will release a graphic novel titled Hellraiser Anthology in the spring of 2017! A short trailer, and it is sparse with no imagry, is online at Barker’s YouTube channel and is narrated by Pinhead himself, Doug Bradley. One of the writers included in the project is former Collider Nightmares guest and Blumhouse.com EIC Rebekkah McKendry.

What’s In The Box?!:

After releasing an cast photo announcing the beginning of production on season two of Stranger Things, yesterday it was announced that two heavy hitters – Paul Reiser and Sean Astin – would join the cast. The Wrap reports that Astin will play a kind-hearted former nerd. Reiser will play a doctor part of a clean up assignment.

buffy-the-vampire-slayerNovember 6 was the 15 year anniversary of the Buffy The Vampire Slayer Musical episode, Once More With Feeling. Written and directed by Joss Whedon, the episode of the hit supernatural series featured original music by Whedon and a score written by Christophe Beck, the cast which included Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, and Anthony Stewart Head, sang and danced their way through drama and strife at the hands of a smooth singing and tap dancing demon.
