While you may not have heard of Licensing Expo, it’s an extremely important convention if you’re trying to land the license to a number of entertainment related properties. That’s because for over three decades, the Expo has connected the entertainment, character, fashion, art and corporate brand owners and agents with consumer goods manufacturers, licensees and retailers. It’s the place where hundreds of exhibitors representing more than 5,000 brands gather in one place to try and excite retailers to sell their brands. With Hollywood and television a huge driver of consumer dollars at retail, it’s also the place where entertainment companies showcase promotional art and material that hasn’t been seen anywhere else. And while you may not ever see the promo posters on display at Licensing Expo in your local movie theater, it’s still cool to see the first artwork for some of the biggest upcoming movies.
Over the past few years, we’ve posted a number of cool promo posters for some of the biggest upcoming movies and television shows. While we’re still a long way away from this year’s expo, a friend of mine in the industry sent me over something he thought we’d all like to see: a Game of Thrones final season promo poster for people in the licensing industry.
While the poster just confirms the final season is coming in 2019, which is information we already knew, I’m such a Game of Thrones fan that I’ll take whatever I can get at this point. While I’ve heard some people say the writing isn’t as good as it once was, or they’ve had problems with the story lines, Game of Thrones is still my favorite show on television and if they stick the landing, I think it’ll go down as one of the best shows of all time.
Check out the promo poster below and further down the page are some links to our previous Game of Thrones coverage.
