CBS is starting to finalize their schedule in preparation for their May 19 upfront presentation. They ordered six new series yesterday, and renewed Medium and Rules of Engagement today. Inevitably, the network needed to clean house with the cancellation of current series. The victims: Cold Case, Numb3rs, Ghost Whisperer, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Gary Unmarried, Miami Medical, and Accidentally on Purpose. The writing has long been on the wall for veteran shows Cold Case, Numb3rs, Old Christine, and Gary Unmarried (declining ratings) as well as freshman entries Miami Medical and Accidentally (limited sampling). But the disposal of Ghost Whisperer is a bit more surprising, as the supernatural drama is the highest-rated program on Friday nights.
But you know what they say: you’re not losing a Jennifer Love-Hewitt, you’re gaining a Charlie Sheen. Hit the jump for more on Sheen’s two-year contract renewal with Two and a Half Men.

Last night gave us some insight into the fates of Chuck, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Ghost Whisperer, One Tree Hill, Life Unexpected, and Medium as well as some potentially bad news for CBS comedies Gary Unmarried, Rules of Engagement, and Accidentally on Purpose. Deadline put their ear to their ground and reported the “rumblings” around town regarding certain renewals, likely cancellations, and even a couple cases of the rare network switcharoo–it may be wise to update my comprehensive bubble show report.
In short Chuck, Old Christine, Ghost Whisperer, and Medium should all have a home next year, while One Tree Hill, Life Expected, and the lesser performers among the CBS comedies may be left out in the cold. Details after the jump:
Earlier today I posted an article detailing what CBS will be doing to their schedule this fall. Of course a few hours later, they sent over some clips. So rather than update the article, they’re all after the jump.
Since all the shows are new, I’m including the synopses for each show above the clip. Take a look after the jump:
CBS Has just announced their 2009-2010 Primetime Schedule and it’s below. Since CBS is currently the number one network, they haven’t changed their line-up too much. But if you’re a fan of their Monday night comedies, they’ve shifted “How I Met Your Mother” and “The Big Bang Theory” to new times. Also, they’ve added a new comedy called “Accidentally on Purpose” to the night.
And if you’re a fan of “The Mentalist”, they’ve moved that to Thursday’s at 10pm. The new line-up is after the jump, along with synopsis’ of the new shows.
