With Entourage all wrapped up after eight seasons (and a mostly disappointing last round of episodes), creator Doug Ellin is already onto his next project, a new comedy pilot called 40. The series follows four four lifelong friends who help each other navigate life at 40. Basically it sounds like Entourage without all the Hollywood rigamarole, but the cast does sounds pretty interesting. Michael Rappaport and Ed Burns were previously cast as two of the four friends in the project, and now The Live Feed has word that Adrian Pasdar (Heroes) and Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) will play the other two buddies. Pasdar will pull double duty on TV since he is also part of the ABC Family series The Lying Game, whereas Imperioli spent some time with HBO on the aforementioned mobster drama. The cast at least has me interested in the project, and if anything, Ellin knows how to craft a show with an ensemble that really feel like genuine friends on screen.

Formerly seen together on-screen as the Petrelli brothers on Heroes, Adrian Pasdar and Milo Ventimiglia will now team up behind the mic under the Marvel Television banner. At their WonderCon panel, Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb announced that Pasdar and Ventimiglia will voice the title roles of the new Iron Man and Wolverine anime series:

“Adrian and Milo are perfect as Iron Man and Wolverine [respectively]. It’s extremely exciting to see these talented guys take on two of the most iconic super hero roles of all time.”

The Iron Man series will feature Tony Stark traveling to Japan to take on the Zodiac consortium while Wolverine, also in Japan, battles the criminal underworld. Each anime series, along with Blade and X-Men will appear exclusively on the G4 network here in the US. G4 will air an exclusive clip from Wolverine on this Wednesday’s Attack of the Show at 7pm ET/PT. Hit the jump for the full press release and an Iron Man anime trailer.

See Kathyrn Bigelow hunt Bill Paxton in a James Cameron Music Video – Yes, Really

Much has been made about the upcoming Oscars battle between exes Kathyrn Bigelow and James Cameron – with their movies, The Hurt Locker and Avatar, respectively, tied with a leading nine nominations each – but as you’ll see from this crazy music video, they often had a lot of fun when they were still on speaking terms.

The clip is for the song “Reach” by an ’80s new wave band called Martini Ranch, which just happened to feature actor Bill Paxton (which was all news to me until just now), and the video was directed by Cameron himself. As you’ll see on the jump, it’s the definition of ’80s excess, and will have you yearning for the days when music videos at their best were elevated to mini-movies. In something that looks like a surreal mashup of Bigelow’s Near Dark (still her best movie in my book) and Deadwood, Paxton stars as a bank robber on the run in the Wild West, and Near Dark stars Adrian Pasdar and Lance Henriksen make appearances, as does Judge Reinhold. Best of all, however, is that Bigelow herself leads an all-female posse of bounty hunters on his trail, and to be as piggish as possible, just looks sensationally hot doing it.

To tell you any more would just spoil the fun, so hit the jump for the video.

With NBC’s “Heroes” set to return next week with its season premiere, we’ve been provided with 6 clips from the two hour episode. So if you’ve been waiting all summer for the return of the show, after the jump you can see some new footage. Since I’ve already written about my thoughts on the show, I’m just going to leave you with the clips. Also, I’m in Toronto at the Film Festival and have got a lot to write about…but I’ll say it again, getting Ray Park on the show was a smart move. In one of the clips you can see his powers.

HEROES Volume 5 Premiere Synopsis

While I have serious issues with NBC’s “Heroes”, I still watch every week. As I have said repeatedly on Collider, if you put people with super powers on TV, I’ll tune in. I know I have a problem.

Anyway, each season I always think this will be the year “Heroes” gets it right. They’ll finally write the show with some intelligence and come up with an interesting storyline. But then the show premieres, and I get mad that I still watch. So will this be the year “Heroes” turns it around? Probably not. But they have added Robert Knepper and Ray Park, so they’ve at least done something right. Anyhow, NBC has just released the synopsis for the two hour premiere airing September 21st, so if you want to know what the premiere is about, click the jump. When NBC releases clips I’ll post them.

A few nights ago was the 2009 Saturn Awards in Burbank. As the event was going on, many of the winners came backstage for photos and interviews. One of them was Adrian Pasdar – who had just won for Best Supporting Actor on a Television Show (“Heroes” – Nathan Petrelli).

Anyway, after the jump you can watch our conversation where we talked about the Saturn Awards, Comic-Con, why “Heroes” is only coming back for 18 or 19 episodes this season, how the entire season is one volume, and more. Take a look:
