Rising star Brit Marling eyed the female lead in One Shot earlier this month, but chose to star The Company You Keep instead. That leaves a vacancy in a high profile action-thriller for another rising star to star opposite Tom Cruise. THR reports Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger), Rosamund Pike (Barney’s Version), and Alexa Davalos (Clash of the Titans) are reading for the part with writer/director Christopher McQuarrie. Pike and Atwell aren’t new to these kinds of lists. And Pike will replace Davalos as Andromeda in the Clash of the Titans sequel, further implying homogeneity among young starlets. Not to detract from the talent of these ladies. I have not seen Davalos in anything, but I thought Atwell and Pike were great in the little I’ve seen of their work.
One Shot is based on the novel of the same name in Lee Childs’ Jack Reacher series. Cruise plays “an ex-Army cop who gets sucked into the mystery surrounding the arrest of a sniper accused of killing five random people in a shooting.” Paramount is planning on a fall shoot in Pittsburgh for a February 8, 2013 release. Read the book synopsis after the break.

Rosamund Pike is an actress who has been circling big-name properties like X-Men: First Class and more recently, Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot. However, it looks like rather than tangle with the Man of Steel, she’ll be joining Jonathan Liebesman Clash of the Titans sequel, Wrath of the Titans. Deadline reports that Pike will play Andromeda in the film and that it will be a much larger role than in the 2010 film (when it was played by Alexa Davalos, who was “unavailable for the sequel”). For those unfamiliar with Pike, she first broke out in 2002′s Die Another Day, and has done some strong supporting work in recent indie films such as An Education and Barney’s Version.
Wrath of the Titans also stars Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, and Liam Neeson. The film is due out in 3D on March 30, 2012.

Edgar Ramirez and Toby Kebbell (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice) have joined Jonathan Liebesman’s Clash of the Titans sequel, Wrath of the Titans. According to The Wrap, Ramirez, who gave a breakthrough performance in last year’s critically-acclaimed Carlos, is in talks to play the god of war Ares while Kebbell is about to accept the role of Agenor. The pair will join returning actors Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Liam Neeson, and Ralph Fiennes.

Warner Bros. has released 10 movie clips from director Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans and you can check them out after the jump. Starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton, Jason Flemyng, Danny Huston, and Alexa Davalos, the film gets released April 2 in 3D. I caught a screening last night and while I probably shouldn’t say too much as there is an embargo, it’s a very fun popcorn movie that moves extremely fast. I think the running time was 1hr. 46 minutes. In fact, if I had one comment to the studio, I would have liked the film to have slowed down a bit as it moves so fast you barely have time to take a breath.
Also, while they wanted to show us the movie in 3D last night it wasn’t ready, as the post production schedule is extremely tight so we saw the normal 2D version. But I thought the film worked in 2D as that’s the way Louis Leterrier shot the movie last summer. Hit the jump to watch a ton of footage from Clash of the Titans:

Warner Bros. has released 41 high resolution images from director Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans and you can check them out after the jump. The reason they went online today is the press junket is in Los Angeles this weekend, so they’ve released all the promotional items. It also means clips from the film will hit the net this weekend, so check back for those.
I’m actually going to a screening of the film tonight and I think it’s the first time anyone outside of the studio will get to see the film. While I don’t know if there is an embargo, if there isn’t, I’ll tweet what I thought. Clash of the Titans stars Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton, Jason Flemyng, Danny Huston, and Alexa Davalos.

Warner Bros. has sent over high resolution versions of all the new Clash of the Titans movie posters that recently hit the net. Originally scheduled for release on March 26 and in 2D, WB has moved the release date to April 2 and Clash is now going to be a 3D release. While I have no idea how they were able to get this done so quickly, if they were able to make Clash look cool in 3D, I’m all for it.
As of now, there have been no test screenings of the film, and I don’t know anyone that’s seen the final version. But I was on the set last year and what I saw looked awesome. Look for my set report on the 18th – along with interviews with the cast. Hit the jump to check out the posters in high res:

MTV aired a program tonight called “Behind the Screen” and they showed off new clips from “Jennifer’s Body”, “Ninja Assassin”, “2012″ and some behind the scenes footage from “Clash of the Titans”. Thanks to the magic of embedding, you can see the clips after the jump. Take a look:
