If you’ve paid attention to the media lately, you might’ve noticed that zombies are in. Now they’re in 3D with Screen Gems’ Resident Evil: Afterlife. Reprising her role as Claire Redfield from Resident Evil: Extinction, Ali Larter once again battles the undead and the evil Umbrella Corporation. At the press junket for Resident Evil: Afterlife, Larter discussed surviving the apocalypse, how your career path chooses you, and how there is absolutely no truth to the rumors of a Heroes TV movie … as far as she knows. Watch the full interview after the jump.

With writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D getting released on September 10, Screen Gems has released the full press kit and included are four movie clips, a new featurette, and about nine minutes of B-Roll (Behind the Scenes Footage) from the set.
As you might imagine, the featurette cuts between footage from the movie and the actors talking about their roles and the film. The B-Roll is great for fans of the franchise as you can see what it was like on set and how they made the 3D movie. Finally, the clips give you a taste of the finished film. Our partners at Omelete have premiered a new minute long trailer/extended commercial for writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D. Due to being at the airport and having a bad internet connection, I was only able to watch part of the trailer, but I think it has some new footage. If you’re a fan of the Resident Evil franchise, hit the jump to check it out:
For more Resident Evil: Afterlife coverage, here’s our recap of the Comic-Con panel, here’s the last trailer, here’s my set visit to Toronto last year and some on set interviews with Ali Larter, Milla Jovovich, Wentworth Miller and Writer/Director Paul W.S. Anderson. Finally, here’s our interview with Anderson at Comic-Con.

Just when you think it can’t possibly get any bigger, the annual San Diego Comic-Con manages to do just that. The exponentially growing number of attendees and non-comic book related attractions doesn’t deter it from being one of the biggest draws of the summer for fans of superheroes, sci-fi, action-adventure and all things vampire. Over the last couple of years, people have even decided to camp out on the street under tents, for a better chance to catch a glimpse of the A-list actors and filmmakers that film Hall H with their upcoming blockbusters.
While I understand that Comic-Con ended on July 25th, I went straight into attending the Television Critics Association Press Tour, where I’ve been every day since, and I haven’t had any time to post these until now. But, I got so many great photos of the folks that I interviewed that, even though Comic-Con ended awhile ago, I think the photos are still of interest.
Throughout my stay at Comic-Con, I took photos of Green Lantern star Ryan Reynolds, Ali Larter & Wentworth Miller from Resident Evil: Afterlife, Chloe Grace Moretz & Kodi Smit-McPhee from Let Me In, the stars of Sons of Anarchy, the cast of Psych, Amber Heard & Nicolas Cage from Drive Angry 3D, Anna Torv & Joshua Jackson from Fringe, Maggie Q & Lyndsy Fonseca from Nikita, Daniel Dae Kim & Grace Park from Hawaii Five-0, Denis O’Hare from True Blood, filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro, the cast of the U.K. series Being Human, Elisabeth Shue & Steven McQueen from Piranha 3-D, the cast of The Vampire Diaries, Jensen Ackles from Supernatural, the stars of Castle, Jeff Bridges & Bruce Boxleitner with the new co-stars of Tron: Legacy, and Bruce Willis, Karl Urban & Helen Mirren from RED. In the last Resident Evil film, Alice (Milla Jovovich) met a survivor of the virus infection, named Claire Redfield (Ali Larter). In the fourth installment of the franchise, Claire has found a way to survive the very traumatic experience she went through, but she has lost some of her memory and is trying to figure out who she can trust again. There is even the introduction of Claire’s brother from the video games, which presents even more issues, as she figures out if he is who he is.
While at Comic-Con, actress Ali Larter spoke at a roundtable about how much she loves doing action and stunts, what it was like to work with the 3D technology and how much fun it is to play such strong women. Check out what she had to say after the jump.

Wentworth Miller is the latest actor to join the Resident Evil franchise. In the latest installment, Resident Evil: Afterlife, he plays Chris Redfield, brother to Claire (Ali Larter) and a character straight out fo the popular video games. Unfamiliar with the video game when he was cast, he made sure to do his research and see what the fan expectation was for the character, before developing the character for himself.
While at Comic-Con, Wentworth Miller spoke at a roundtable about being a fan of the genre and his excitement in joining such an internationally successful franchise. He also talked about the writing projects that he’s developing – a feature film called Stoker, that’s part horror film, part family drama and part psychological thriller, all wrapped in one, along with its prequel, Uncle Charlie. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

Fans of the Resident Evil franchise are sure to get three times what they love as the fourth film in the series, Resident Evil: Afterlife, was shot in 3D and presented as such at its San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday. Producer, director and writer Paul W.S. Anderson brought his wife and star Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, and Resident Evil newcomer Wentworth Miller (Prison Break) along with him to present footage and answer questions. A few days ago we posted the second trailer for Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Afterlife. The trailer we posted was low quality as it had been recorded off a TV broadcast. Thankfully, an HD version has been released and you can check it out after the jump.
For more Resident Evil: Afterlife coverage, here’s my set visit and on set interviews with Ali Larter, Milla Jovovich, Wentworth Miller and Writer/Director Paul W.S. Anderson. Finally, while a lot of movies have been converted to 3D in post production, Resident Evil: Afterlife was shot with they same cameras that James Cameron used on Avatar - which means it’s going to look very cool in 3D.

Thanks to a tip from Collider reader Max, you now have a new Resident Evil: Afterlife trailer to go with the poster that debuted earlier today. Paul W.S. Anderson returned to direct the fourth entry in the zombie franchise, having helmed the 2002 original. Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter reprise their characters, while Wentworth Miller (Prison Break) facilitates the screen debut of Chris Redfield from the video games.
Check out the slightly blurry trailer, which premiered on Attack of the Show, after the jump.

Director Paul W.S. Anderson shot Resident Evil: Afterlife in 3D, and the marketing department at Screen Gems plans to take full advantage of that fact. This new poster features star Milla Jovovich busting through glass with guns ambidextrously blazing, and rumor has it that when you see it in theaters, the art will make use of the third dimension. If you’re excited for the film, I imagine this is right up your alley.
Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter return as Alice and Claire, respectively, for the fourth entry in the Resident Evil franchise — Afterlife marks the screen debut of fan favorite character Chris Redfield, whom Wentworth Miller (Prison Break) will bring to life from the video games. A new poster along with new images from Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Afterlife have popped up online. Last November, I got to visit the set of Resident Evil: Afterlife when the movie was filming in Toronto. I was there with a few other online journalists and we got to watch some filming and also interview the cast. Overall it was a great set visit and you can read my report here. Anyway, late in the day we got to sit down with Wentworth Miller to talk about playing Chris Redfield. He told us what he did to prepare for the movie, the kind of research he did online, and how his character is different than the video game. While the interview wasn’t a long one, it was very informative. Hit the jump to read or listen to it:

The other day I posted my Resident Evil: Afterlife set visit and a lot of onset interviews. Today, Entertainment Tonight Canada posted a short video about their set visit. If you read my report or know anything about the movie, you’re not going to learn much by watching the video as ET always aims for the casual movie viewer. Saying that, if you’d like to see Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter or Shawn Roberts talk about their characters and the movie…hit the jump. Thanks to Collider reader CM for the tip.
