With J.J. Abrams Star Trek Into Darkness now playing around the world, we recently landed an exclusive phone interview with Alice Eve.  During the interview, she talked about making the sequel, how things changed on set, who was the one who broke the most while filming, her reaction to reading the script for the first time, deleted scenes, and a lot more.  She also talked about working with Bryan Cranston on Cold Comes the Night.  Hit the jump for what she had to say.

We’re just days away from the US release of J.J. Paramount Pictures has released six clips from director J.J. Paramount Pictures has released a new 3D trailer for director J.J. Abrams’ sequel Star Trek Into Darkness.  If you happen to have a pair of red/blue 3D glasses handy, then you’re in luck.  If not, well I hope you like slightly blurry images.  This trailer is simply the latest theatrical trailer only refashioned in kinda-3D.  I say kinda-3D because this is far from the quality 3D you’d see in a theater.  Nevertheless, if you happen to have a pair of 3D glasses nearby, go nuts.

The Star Trek Into Darkness marketing blitz rolls on with three more TV spots for the upcoming sequel.  A couple of the TV spots hammer home the same plot points we’ve seen before: Kirk (Chris Pine) needs to be responsible, the villain “John Harrison” (Benedict Cumberbatch) is really sinister, etc.  But the third spot is an interesting evaluation of Uhura (Zoe Saldana) by Harrison.  We saw this kind of evaluation before with Spock (Zachary Quinto), but the evaluation of Uhura sneaks in a couple frames of an unmasked Klingon.  I’m not exactly sure why they needed masks in the first place, but as far as the design goes, it’s fairly subdued.  However, in the TV series, the Klingons (from TNG onwards, which is when they got their distinctive foreheads) have different craniums.  They have ridges, but the ridges vary from Klingon to Klingon, so we don’t know if that will be the case with Abrams’ film or if he’s gone for a uniform design.

• Star Trek Into Darkness – The last character poster from J.J. Abrams’ sequel is for  Dr. Carol Marcus (Alice Eve). Star Trek Into Darkness opens May 17th.
• Red 2 – Today’s poster features Mary-Louise Parker.  The Dean Parisot-directed sequel stars  Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Anthony Hopkins and Byung-hun Lee.  Red 2 opens July 19th.
• CBGB – Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters is featured on today’s poster. Chronicling the quest of Hilly Kristal (Alan Rickman) to turn a small club into the legendary punk venue, CBGB also stars  Ashley Greene, Malin Akerman, Johnny Galecki, Rupert Grint, and Stana Katic.

Some new U.K. character posters for J.J. Abrams’ upcoming sequel Star Trek Into Darkness have made their way online.  We previously saw a few domestic character posters for Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, and Benedict Cumberbatch, but in this grouping we see Alice Eve, John Cho, and Karl Urban get their own one-sheets alongside new posters for the aforementioned actors.  The lack of Anton Yelchin’s Chekov in most of the marketing, though, is starting to become glaring, and I’m beginning to wonder about his character’s fate.  Also, where’s Scotty’s poster?  Surely Simon Pegg deserves a one-sheet of his own, especially as part of the U.K.’s marketing materials.

A few minutes before the Star Trek Into Darkness cast hit the CinemaCon stage in Las Vegas, I landed a video interview with Alice Eve on the red carpet.  While J.J. Abrams and Paramount have slowly been releasing more images and footage from the Star Trek sequel (click here to watch the new trailer), the cast is still very careful about saying anything specific about the anxiously awaited sequel.  Knowing this before the interview started, I made sure to only ask questions she could answer like what it was like to film the bridge sequences first, working with the IMAX cameras, where she’ll be traveling to promote the film, what it means to be part of the Star Trek franchise, and you might even see a bit of singing with Zachary Quinto.  Hit the jump to watch.

Paramount has released 24 hi-res images from Star Trek Into Darkness.  These images come from Paramount’s press site, and going through them one-by-one, I noticed something strange: there’s no Chekov (Anton Yelchin).  Perhaps it’s just an oversight on the studio’s part, but every other member of the Enterprise crew is in at least one photo.  This could be nothing, but if Abrams were to kill off a character, he could possibly get away with Chekov (as opposed to a more popular character like Bones or Scotty).

Earlier today, Paramount released an exciting new trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness, and because they’re all about the secrets, they put in a devious little bit of added marketing into one of the shots.  In the UK and Australian versions of the trailer, there’s a bit.ly link to the new poster.  You may have missed it because it’s tiny, in the background, and also behind a scantily clad Alice Eve.  So remember: if someone walks in on you ogling a freeze-frame of some starlet in her underwear, just reply, “I was only looking for a secret URL!  And my pants are off because it’s warm in here!”

Paramount has released a new international trailer for J.J. Abrams’ sequel Star Trek Into Darkness.  It’s got everything we’ve seen in earlier trailers and a lot more.  This time around, we get the action sequences in the presumed order they’ll appear in the full feature which gives us a much better sense of story.  The trailer also shows that Kirk (Chris Pine) is taking things much more seriously than he did in the first film.  There are also plenty of quips from the fantastic supporting cast (and a hot shot of a barely-dressed Alice Eve as a bonus) that show the crew can still keep some levity amidst all the doom and gloom.  Oh, and Benedict Cumberbatch is positively venomous.  This is how you release a new trailer!

A new teaser trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness has gone online and showcases about as much action and wit as you can cram into a runtime of just over a minute. While the first trailer and first teaser seemed to rely on setting up Kirk and John Harrison’s feud, this latest entry is for the most part Kirk/Enterprise-centric. The entire cut is entertaining but the highlight for me has to be Kirk acknowledging his own status as a “pain” to his superiors.

I’m surprised the highly-secretive J.J. Abrams is saying anything about Star Trek Into Darkness, but he spoke with MTV to discuss a few details regarding the Klingons and the role of Carol Marcus (Alice Eve).  The Klingons were previously seen in Star Trek deleted scenes to show that Nero (Eric Bana) was their prisoner for a matter of years before managing to escape and go back to waiting for Spock to come through the wormhole.  Abrams sneakily revealed the fan-favorite race back in June, and he tells MTV, “Their role in this is definitely that of adversary, and you’ll see how that plays out.”

We’ve got a few smaller bits of Star Trek-related goodies to share this evening.  Two new images from director J.J. Abrams’ sequel Star Trek Into Darkness have landed online, giving us new looks at Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto) as well as Kirk and the villainous John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch).  Speaking of villainy, following numerous back and forth reports and rumors regarding the nature of Cumberbatch’s character, Into Darkness star Alice Eve recently spoke up to claim that Cumberbatch is “not playing Khan.”

Moreover, Simon Pegg also recently made a few headlines with some red carpet comments, as he spoke about the prospect of Abrams returning to direct Star Trek 3 in lieu of the filmmaker’s impending Star Wars: Episode VII duties.  Hit the jump to read on.
