With Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones getting released around the country this weekend, it’s time to post the video interviews I got to do with Jackson and most of the cast. The reason I got to speak with everyone is our partners at Omelete were invited to the international press day and they sent me to cover it. So a big thank you to them for making this happen.
The Lovely Bones is based on the novel by Alice Sebold and it’s about a 14-year-old girl named Susie Salmon who is lured into a makeshift underground den in a cornfield and brutally raped and murdered, the latest victim of a serial killer–the man she knew as her neighbor. From heaven, Susie keeps watch over her grieving family and friends, as well as her brazen killer and the sad detective working on her case. The film stars Rachel Weisz, Mark Wahlberg, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli and Saoirse Ronan.
During my interview with Stanley Tucci we talked about his hesitation to take the role of a serial killer, working with Peter Jackson, filming on location, how does he decide to get involved in a project, and a bit on his next film Burlesque. Watch it out after the jump:

Dreamworks has released the poster for Peter Jackson’s “The Lovely Bones,” based on the novel by Alice Sebold about a girl who watches her family cope with her death from the afterlife once she’s raped and murdered by a serial killer who’s gearing up to strike again. If you’ve seen the trailer, you know that this film is going to be visually stunning. Peter Jackson’s rendition of “the in-between”–a Heaven-like limbo–is rich with color and spectacle, which is enough to get me in the theater at least. Not to mention, I’m interested to see Jackson do something that’s not a gore-fest horror or epic fantasy. Check out the poster after the jump.

The teaser trailer for Peter Jackson’s “The Lovely Bones” is now online. Based on the bestselling novel by Alice Sebold, “The Lovely Bones” centers on a 14 year old girl (Saiorsie Ronan) from suburban Pennsylvania who is murdered by her neighbor. She tells the story from Heaven, showing the lives of the people around her and how the quest to solve her disappearance has changed them. Mark Wahlberg and Rachel Weisz play the girl’s parents, Susan Sarandon her grandmother and Stanley Tucci the evil neighbor. Steve saw some footage at this year’s Comic-Con and seemed quite impressed.
