The networks will be unveiling their fall schedules next week at the upfronts, but a few high-profile NBC pilots have already been picked up to series. Briefly:

The New Normal – Ryan Murphy’s blended comedy pilot centering on a same-sex couple and their surrogate.
Revolution – The J.J. Abrams and Eric Kripke-produced action/drama takes place in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.
Go On – Matthew Perry stars as a sportscaster trying to move on from a loss with the help of his fellow group therapy members.
Save Me – Anne Heche plays a woman who, after letting herself go while in a broken marriage, goes through a transformation in which she becomes the best version of herself and creates miracles.

Hit the jump for more on each project.
The New Normal
The New Normal will be the fourth show that Murphy currently has on the air, as Fox’s Glee is entering its fifth season, the hit FX anthology series American Horror Story will launch its second season this fall, and the Glee tie-in reality show The Glee Project airs on Oxygen. Book of Mormon star Andrew Rannells (who recently killed on HBO's Girls) and Justin Bartha (The Hangover, National Treasure) star as the same-sex couple in this single-camera comedy, while Georgia King plays their surrogate who is helping them have a baby of their own. Ellen Barkin also stars. Murphy wrote the pilot alongside Glee scribe Ali Adler. Every single one of Murphy's previous series have started incredibly strong, but ...

After Fox officially canceled Terra Nova at the end of its first and only season, fans of the prehistoric sci-fi adventure series got a brief glimmer of hope when it was announced that Netflix had an interest in picking the show up for new episodes (at an obviously reduced cost). Well, I'm here to dash your hopes in meteoric fashion as word has it that talks have fallen through between Netflix and 20th Century Fox Television. THR reports that neither side was able to come to terms on salvaging the series. Although it carried a bloated production budget and never produced the necessary number of viewers, I was intrigued by Terra Nova's premise even more so than its visual marvels. Netflix continues to be aggressive with its series pickups, notably Eli Roth's horror series, Hemlock Grove; new episodes of the fantastic comedy series, Arrested Development; and David Fincher's House of Cards, a drama starring Kevin Spacey.

Though we should've seen a sneak peek premiere last month, audiences will have to wait until this fall for the first episode of Steven Spielberg's new sci-fi drama Terra Nova. However, this weekend comes a big push to get audiences who aren't in front of their TV this weekend excited for the new series as a new trailer has just shown up that will also be playing in theaters across the nation this weekend. It's only a minute long, but it's a nice, short set-up for the series, and let's everyone know what it's all about. I'm still not convinced that the dinosaurs here are going to look as good or offer as many thrills as Spielberg's escapades with them in Jurassic Park, but I'm hoping this doesn't end up being a flop. Check out the new trailer after the jump.

Here's the trailer:

Here's the synopsis for Terra Nova:
TERRA NOVA follows an ordinary family on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a daring experiment to save the human race. In the year 2149, the world is dying. The planet is overdeveloped and overcrowded, with the majority of plant and animal life extinct. The future of mankind is in doubt, and its only hope for survival is in the distant past.

Take some of Avatar, mix with Jurassic Park and toss in a little bit of Lost for good measure, and that's about what Fox's new series Terra Nova looks like. We got our first glimpse at this new series back in February, but Fox has just released a new trailer that gives us a better idea of the size and scope of the story. Showing us both the world our characters leave behind and the new world where humanity hopes to start with a clean slate. Despite the more gritty, thrilling and dramatic tone of the series, I can't help but also see a comparison to Land of the Lost. Hopefully there won't be any Sleestaks showing up. The series was supposed to have a sneak preview premiere event in May, but that's since been delayed until sometime this fall. In the meantime, check out the new trailer and the official series synopsis after the jump.

You've already seen all the big Super Bowl spots for some of the most anticipated films of the year, but now we have the first footage from one of the most high profile series heading to TV in the fall. Tonight Fox finally premiere the first footage from Terra Nova, the new sci-fi series that will have a sneak preview in May and a full fledged season premiere in the fall. With Stephen Lang's monologue and the looks of the sets, this almost feels like a TV series based on Avatar. Of course, then there's a shot of a dinosaur so that perception goes right out the window. It's hard to form any real opinion just on this footage alone, but I'm definitely curious to see how this turns out. See the footage after the jump along with an extended series description.

Terra Nova premieres during a special two-night event Monday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 24 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

As the Steven Spielberg-produced time travel drama Terra Nova inches toward its May 2011 premiere date on Fox, the cast fills out. Jason O'Mara (Life on Mars) is the patriarch of the Shannons, a family that travels back in time to a theoretically paradisiacal era --- with dinosaurs! Shelley Conn (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) was cast as the Mrs., while EW has news on the casting of the kids. Landon Liboiron (Degrassi) is 17-year-old Josh, while newcomers Naomi Scott and Alana Mansour play his younger sisters Maddy and Zoe. Stephen Lang (Avatar) was recently cast as a "ruthless and charismatic leader" of their new settlement, with Mido Hamada (24) and Allison Miller (Kings) likewise on board.

There is reportedly one more series regular role to cast before filming. It's been suggested that the budget of the pilot could approach an astounding $20 million. Seven months till May. Hit the jump for the official description.

The series centers on the Shannon family as they join the tenth pilgrimage of settlers to TERRA NOVA, the first colony of humans in this second chance for civilization. JIM SHANNON (O’Mara), a devoted father with a checkered past, guides his family – wife ELISABETH and children JOSH and MADDY – through this new land of limitless beauty, mystery and terror. In addition to blue skies, rolling rivers and lush vegetation, TERRA NOVA offers new opportunities and fresh beginnings to its recent arrivals, but the Shannons have brought with ...
