The trailer for Girl Walks into a Bar has gone online. The film has an impressive cast that includes Carla Gugino, Zachary Quinto, Danny DeVito, Josh Hartnett, Rosario Dawson, Alexis Bledel, and Robert Forster. Based solely on the trailer, I have no idea was to what the movie’s about. But Girl‘s hook doesn’t seem to be it’s cast or its story, but rather its distribution method. Girl Walks into a Bar will be presented by Lexus and YouTube for free, exclusively on YouTube. The money quote in the press release comes from Lexus VP of Marketing Dave Nordstrom:
“It seems fitting to support this initiative as we launch our most unconfined vehicle yet—the CT 200h hybrid —in a space that we know will reach an unconventional, sophisticated audience.” (emphasis mine)
Clearly, Mr. Nordstrom has never been on YouTube. Hit the jump to check out the trailer, four images from the film, and the full press release. Girl Walks into a Bar goes online March 11th.

2009 was a big year for director duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. Just five short months after their big Crank sequel hit theaters, Gamer, the pair’s first “big budget” picture opened nationwide. The film follows Kable (Gerard Butler), a convicted murderer enrolled in Slayers, a competition for survival against fellow prisoners. The catch: the players can’t control their motor functions.
Instead, they are the puppets of players — in Kable’s case, a teen named Simon (Logan Lerman) — who control them remotely through a video game. Survive 40 matches and you’re free. Die in one match and you’re dead. Are you game? See why you should be after the jump.

With Hollywood up and running after the New Year’s break, all the studios have released tons of new movie clips from their upcoming movies. In the coming hours I’ll be posting a ton of them, and to start things off, after the jump you can check out 4 clips from Jackie Chan’s The Spy Next Door. According to the synopsis:
Bob Ho (Jackie Chan) is an undercover CIA superspy who decides to give up his career in espionage to settle down with his next-door neighbor and girlfriend, Gillian. But Bob has one more mission to complete before Gillian agrees to marry him: winning over her three opinionated kids. When Gillian suddenly has to leave town, Bob volunteers to babysit the children so he can earn their approval. But when one of the kids mistakenly downloads a top-secret formula from his computer, Bob’s archenemy, a Russian terrorist, moves in for the attack, forcing Bob to juggle the roles of spy and prospective stepfather in the most challenging mission of his career.
While this is clearly aimed at families, perhaps some of you Jackie Chan fans might want to see the footage:

If you’re like me and have been looking forward to “Gamer”, the next film from Neveldine/Taylor, I’ve got some cool stuff to share. That’s because I was just provided with 5 clips from their new film! So if you need a taste of what’s coming from the crazy minds behind “Crank” and “Crank: High Voltage”, click the jump and take a look. Also, make sure you watch clip 4, as I’m pretty sure that Terry Crews really did the stunt. It’s crazy.

As you’ve probably noticed, I’m promoting the shit out of Neveldine/Taylor’s next movie “Gamer”. They send me new images, I keep posting them. What can I say, I’m a fan. Anyway, since I’ve already gone on and on about this movie in previous posts, I’ll let the new images do the talking. So after the jump, check them out.

I love both “Crank” movies. So it should go without saying that I can’t wait to see writer/director Neveldine/Taylor’s next movie “Gamer”. Also, I interviewed the two filmmakers at Comic-Con and after hearing them talk about the film, I’m even more excited to see it as it seems like they threw everything they had at making this film as crazy as it can be. But from the guys who made “Crank”, would you expect anything less. Anyway, in a few weeks I’ll be posting great interviews with the entire cast and Mark and Brian. Until then, check out 5 new images after the jump. “Gamer” hits theaters September 4th.
The first trailer for Neveldine/Taylor’s “Gamer” movie has just hit the net. This is the film that used to be called “Game” and “Citizen Game”.
According to the synopsis, the movie takes place in the near future where mind control technology has taken society by storm. Humans control other humans in a mass-scale, multiplayer online game. With the popularity of MMORPG’s, I don’t think it’s such a farfetched concept.
Saying all that, the main reason you should be excited for “Gamer” is that it’s from the sick minds of Neveldine/Taylor. They’re the people behind “Crank” and “Crank High Voltage” – two films I thought were great.
While “Crank High Voltage” came out already, they actually made “Gamer” beforehand. Supposedly they had a lot of special effects that needed time to finish, and that’s the reason it’s taken so long to get released.
While action and violence isn’t everyone’s thing, the trailer looks like it’s my kind of movie. Take a look after the jump. “Gamer” stars Gerard Butler, Michael C. Hall, Amber Valletta, John Leguizamo and Kyra Sedgwick.
