A couple of new posters have been released today. First up, the international poster for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has hit the web. It’s pretty much a combination of all the separate character posters that have been released so far, as it puts all the four main characters together on the same poster. The film hits theaters in 3D on May 20th.
Secondly, a new poster for Skateland has been released. The film, starring Ashley Greene, is set in the 80’s and centers on high schoolers and their local roller skating rink. The film premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festvial. Directed by Anthony Burns, Skateland stars Greene, Shiloh Fernandez, Heath Freeman, Brett Cullen, and Taylor Handley. Hit the jump to check out the posters.

Nothing screams ‘80s quite like a roller skating rink filled with teens. Add in a seemingly formulaic teen angst/searching for what to do after high school plotline, and we have a familiar feel with Skateland and the first trailer that just hit. However, the mere mention of Ashley Greene (Twilight) might perk up some ears (or something else), and it has garnered a nomination for the Grand Jury prize at Sundance. Sometimes trailers don’t quite sell you on a good movie, so hit the jump for a plot synopsis and the full trailer to judge for yourself.

Earlier today I got to talk with the three people behind the Sundance movie Skateland: Brandon Freeman, Heath Freeman and Anthony Burns. While some Sundance movies have big money backing their project, Brandon Freeman, Heath Freeman and Anthony Burns not only produced Skateland, they also wrote the film and Anthony Burns directed it.
The film takes place in a small Texas town in the early 80′s and it’s about a 19 year-old skating rink manager who comes to see his life in a new light. The film stars Ashley Greene, Taylor Handley, Heath Freeman and Shiloh Fernandez.
During my interview with the filmmakers, we discussed how the project came together, getting the project funded, the music, Sundance, and a lot more. Hit the jump to watch it:

As we move closer to the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, we’re getting the first images of the films that will be playing there. Since there are so many movies, we’ve decided to group them into a single article because the human brain can only handle so many new images before it starts to go mad. The films we’ve included in this group Obselidia; Skateland starring the unbelievable hotness that is Ashley Greene; The Dry Land starring America Ferrera, Melissa Leo, and Wilmer Valderrama; The Imperialists Are Still Alive!; and Winter’s Bone starring Jennifer Lawrence and John Hawkes. We also have some more images for Nowhere Boy, the young John Lennon biopic starring Kristen Scott Thomas and Aaron Johnson. Hit the jump for images and synopses for all these films.
The 2010 Sundance Film Festival will run from January 21-31st.
