The full tracklist for The Hunger Games companion soundtrack has been unveiled, and it’s pretty damn eclectic. Producer T. Bone Burnett has been hard at work on the score with with composer James Newton Howard as well as the soundtrack album made of up original songs inspired by the film’s themes. The Hunger Games: Sounds from District 12 and Beyond features songs by Taylor Swift, Arcade Fire, The Civil Wars, The Decemberists, Glen Hansard, Neko Case, Miranda Lambert, Kid Cudi, and many more. It’s a nice mix of artists and should prove fairly successful if the Twilight soundtrack sales are any indication.
Hit the jump to check out the full tracklisting, and to listen to the original songs by The Decemberists and Taylor Swift. The soundtrack hits stores March 20th and The Hunger Games opens March 23rd. [Update: We've added Swift's music video for "Safe & Sound" after the jump.]

Just the other day the first single from the soundtrack to Gary Ross’ highly anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games, a song called “Safe and Sound” by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars, was released. While some were dismayed at the inclusion of the teen-skewing Swift, producer T. Bone Burnett (Crazy Heart) has much more up his sleeve as a few more contributing artists have now been announced. Burnett is collaborating with composer James Newton Howard not only on the film’s score, but also on an ambitious soundtrack album made up of original songs inspired by the film’s themes . Hit the jump to find out who’ll be joining Swift on the soundtrack.

While we rarely post anything about music on Collider, today I’m making an exception because Amazon’s Gold Box Deal of the Day are ten of this year’s biggest albums for just $3.99 each. Granted, it’s just for MP3′s of all the songs, but for $3.99 an album, it’s an incredible deal. You can click here to check out all ten albums. They’ve got Kanye West, Bruno Mars
, Katy Perry
, Arcade Fire
, Kings Of Leon
, The Black Eyed Peas
, Maroon 5, The Rolling Stones Exile On Main Street (2010 Re-Mastered)
, and more. Remember all Gold Box Deals are only good for one day.

Yesterday we found out that Jeff Bridges would be hosting Saturday Night Live in December, but today NBC announced some talent who will be hosting the show a little earlier with back-to-back shows in November. Today the network announced Scarlett Johansson will host the sketch comedy series for her third time with musical guest Arcade Fire on November 13th. Then the following weekend, on November 20th, Anne Hathaway returns to host for her second time with musical guest Florence and the Machine (hell yes!). The sheer beauty from both of these hosts is enough to tune in, but with stellar musical guests, that makes these episodes of SNL a must-see.
Funnily enough, the press release tried to point out that Johnasson was “currently filming The Avengers with Chris Evans and Samuel L. Jackson,” but unless they know something we don’t, that’s likely completely false. Evans is currently shooting Captain America: The First Avenger (check out the first official photo here) in Europe, and The Avengers isn’t slated to begin shooting until next year. But that misinformation doesn’t make me any less excited for these future episodes of Saturday Night Live. Agreed?
Spike Jonze (Where the Wild Things Are) has been casting for a new project in Austin, Texas. According to /Film, the Oscar nominated director has been looking mainly for actors in their late teens. The film is apparently about “friends growing apart“. Spike plans to collaborate with the indie rock band Arcade Fire, whose music he used in the trailer for his last film Where the Wild Things Are.
It’s also been speculated that the project that he’s working on is another short film. Spike Jonze, who started out as a music video director, isn’t new to short filmmaking. He just premiered his newest short film I’m Here at the Sundance Film Festival 2010. The film has been released online for all to view here. As a fan of Jonze I’m always interested in seeing more and the same applies here.

Earlier today I sat down with writer/director Richard Kelly (“Donnie Darko”, “Southland Tales”) to talk about his upcoming movie “The Box”. For those who don’t know, the movie is set around a deceptively simple moral dilemma. An average couple is offered an opportunity to get themselves out of financial difficulty: a million dollars, in exchange for the knowledge that their acceptance of this gift will result in the death of one person somewhere in the world – someone they don’t know. The big question is, “What will they do?” But writer/director Richard Kelly is also asking, “What would you do?”
While some interviews are rushed, our conversation was extensive and if you’re a fan of Richard Kelly or just curious about “The Box”, then you’ll definitely want to watch this. He talked about how the Arcade Fire came to the project, when will the score be released, the writing process, how his dad really worked at NASA and how he influenced James Marsden’s character, is the Blu-ray of both “Donnie Darko” and “Southland Tales” the final editions of those films, what will be on “The Box” Blu-ray, what is he working on now, and so much more.
