15 Minutes of Behind the Scenes Footage from GREEN LANTERN

by Steve 'Frosty' Weintraub    Posted: June 9th, 2011 at 3:24 pm

Thanks to Warner Bros. sending over the EPK (electronic press kit) from Martin Campbell’s Green Lantern, you can watch 15 minutes of behind the scenes footage.  If you’re trying to stay spoiler free, I urge you not to watch the footage as it’s loaded with potential spoilers.  However, if you’re curious how Green Lantern was made, the footage is awesome.  I especially enjoyed getting to see Geoffrey Rush and Michael Clarke Duncan do their voice over work as Tomar-Re and Kilowog (which is towards the end) and watching Mark Strong become Sinestro in the makeup chair.  You can also see Ryan Reynolds pretending to fly, tons of stunt work, and plenty of Blake Lively and Peter Sarsgaard.  Again, it’s some great footage.  Hit the jump to check it out.  Green Lantern open June 17th.

With director Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class set to open next week, 20th Century Fox has sent over three clips and twenty five minutes of behind the scenes footage!  For those that want to stay spoiler free, I advise you not to watch the behind the scenes footage until you’ve seen the movie as it’s loaded with could be considered spoilers.  However, if you’re curious how a movie is made, or what it was like on the set, the footage is great.

As I said a few days ago after I saw the movie, X-Men: First Class is a huge home-run.  Everything from the great script to the awesome performances by the entire cast (with special mention to James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender) makes this X-Men film my favorite in the franchise.   Also, the film is loaded with incredible action and a ton of Easter Eggs for the fans.  Even the sets and costumes are great.  Trust me, as soon as the movie is over, you’re going to wish the next chapter was coming out next week.   Hit the jump to check out the footage.

With Thor finally arriving in America next weekend (it’s already playing around the world), Paramount/Marvel have released the EPK and included are four clips and ten minutes of behind the scenes footage.  While the clips have all been previously released, this is the first time we have all four in one place.  In addition, if you’re curious what it’s really like on a movie set, the behind the scenes footage is great to watch.  However, if you are trying to avoid spoilers, you might want to check it out after you’ve seen the movie.

As I said when I posted my review/video blog on Thor, I thought the movie was great.  Also, while Thor is not an easy transition from comic books to movie screens, director Kenneth Branagh made it work and I cannot wait to see everyone together in The Avengers next summer.  Hit the jump to watch the clips and look for new interviews next week.  Thor stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo, Stellan Skarsgard, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Josh Dallas, Tadanobu Asano, Idris Elba, Clark Gregg and Colm Feore.

Are you counting down the days till TRON: Legacy gets released?  Do you wish you could have visited the set while the production was filming in Vancouver?   Have you always wanted to see what really goes on behind the scenes when a movie is getting filmed?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, you’re about to have a geekgasm.  That’s because Walt Disney has released the EPK for TRON: Legacy and included are 15 minutes of behind the scenes footage (B-Roll) from when the movie was getting made.  Here’s just some of the stuff that’s included:

But I’ve left out the best part…all the footage is set to the music of Daft Punk!  Want to see and hear more?  Hit the jump:

15 Minutes of Behind the Scenes Footage (B-Roll) from HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS

by Steve 'Frosty' Weintraub    Posted: November 8th, 2010 at 6:28 pm

If you’re a fan of the Harry Potter movies and wish you could have visited the set and watched them film, I’ve got the next best thing. That’s because Warner Bros. has just released the EPK for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and they’re provided us with 15 minutes of B-Roll (Behind the Scenes Footage).  So if you’d like to see what it was really like on set while filming, these are the videos for you.  What’s great about the footage is that it’s not cleaned up for a documentary or for the home video release.   Some of it is whole takes recorded on the sidelines.  What I also love about the footage is seeing everyone in costume between takes having fun.  If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, I think you’ll really enjoy checking it out:

RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE – 4 Movie Clips, a New Featurette and 9 Minutes of Behind the Scenes Footage

by Steve 'Frosty' Weintraub    Posted: August 29th, 2010 at 11:23 am

With writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D getting released on September 10, Screen Gems has released the full press kit and included are four movie clips, a new featurette, and about nine minutes of B-Roll (Behind the Scenes Footage) from the set.

As you might imagine, the featurette cuts between footage from the movie and the actors talking about their roles and the film.  The B-Roll is great for fans of the franchise as you can see what it was like on set and how they made the 3D movie.  Finally, the clips give you a taste of the finished film.  Hit the jump to check everything out:

INCEPTION Video Roundup: Christopher Nolan On Set Interview, 6 Minutes of B-Roll (Behind the Scenes Footage), Video Featurette

slice Inception

With Christopher Nolan’s Inception junketing this weekend here in Los Angeles, Warner Bros. has released the floodgates of promotional material over the past 24 hours. Yesterday we posted a ton of new images and today the studio has released the EPK (electronic press kit), which includes an on set interview with director Christopher Nolan, 6 minutes of B-Roll (Behind the Scenes Footage), and a featurette that was released a few weeks ago that you may have missed.

What’s really great about the B-Roll is it features some great behind the scenes footage from the set.  As you watch, you’ll see how they did the special effects practically and not with CGI.  It’s some very cool stuff.  While I don’t think the video will spoil the movie, if you’re trying to stay spoil free, I guess you’d want to watch this stuff later.  But if you don’t mind learning a bit more about the world of Inception, hit the jump:

REMEMBER ME Behind the Scenes Footage and a Robert Pattinson On Set Interview

Remember Me image - slice.jpg

Summit Entertainment has provided us with a Robert Pattinson on set interview and a ton of behind the scenes footage from Remember Me.  While I generally don’t post studio provided interviews, I know how popular Robert Pattinson is, and the 9 minute interview isn’t online yet.

And regarding the behind the scenes footage…when a movie is filming, the studio will document the process and release what’s called B-Roll.  This is generally footage of the cast and crew working on location, or footage of the cast filming a scene. If you’re curious what being on a movie set is really like, you’ll enjoy the footage.  Remember Me stars Robert Pattinson, Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan, and Chris Cooper.  Allen Coulter directed the film and William Fetters wrote the script.  Hit the jump to check out the footage and interview:

With “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” getting ready to hit theaters on November 20th, Summit Entertainment has released an EPK for the media to use.  If you’re not familiar with the term EPK, it stands for Electronic Press Kit.  An EPK is where the studio puts movie clips, trailers, and behind the scenes footage from whatever movie they’re promoting.

Anyway, I’ve taken the movie clips Summit released, as well as all the behind the scenes footage, and posted two videos after the jump.  While the three clips have already been released over the past two weeks, the ten minutes of behind the scenes footage is all new.  So if you’ve been waiting for “Twilight: New Moon”, you’ll really enjoy the footage of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner on set.  Take a look after the jump:
