Opening this weekend is the third film in the Men in Black franchise.  Barry Sonnenfeld returns as director and the story finds Will Smith’s Agent J travelling back in time to save Tommy Lee Jones’ Agent K.  In addition to Bill Hader as Andy Warhol, Josh Brolin plays a younger version of Jones’ character and does an incredible job.  You’ll absolutely think you’re watching Jones as a young man.  Men in Black 3 also stars Jemaine Clement, Alice Eve, and Emma Thompson.  In addition, make-up effects artist Rick Baker returns to the franchise and you can see some of his creature work here.  For more on the film, here’s all our previous coverage.

Last week I got to speak with most of the cast and every day this week I’ll be posting a new interview.  Yesterday was Tommy Lee Jones and today I’ve got Will Smith.  During the interview we talked about when he knew they could make another Men in Black, the impact Star Wars had on him as a kid, how many takes he likes to do, and more.  In addition, we talked about future projects like M. Night Shyamalan‘s After Earth, and I tried to get updates on Independence Day 2, Bad Boys 3, I Am Legend 2 and Hancock 2.   Hit the jump to watch.

Martin Lawrence Interview BIG MOMMA’S: LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON; Updates on BAD BOYS 3 and THE SKANK ROBBERS With Jamie Foxx

In the comedy film Big Momma’s: Like Father, Like Son, FBI Agent Malcolm Turner (Martin Lawrence) is back undercover as alter-ego Big Momma, but this time he is joined by his teenage stepson Trent (Brandon T. Jackson). After Trent witnesses a murder, he does a little undercover work of his own, as the hefty Charmaine, as the two go to an all-girls performing arts school to find the killer before he finds them.

During the film’s recent press day, actor/comedian Martin Lawrence talked about returning to the character of Big Momma for the third time, dreading the make-up process to become the larger-than-life matriarch, the possibility of Big Momma teaming up with Tyler Perry’s Madea, and how he’d definitely put on the fat suit again, if the audience demanded it. He also talked about the status of Bad Boys 3 and his desire to re-team with co-star Will Smith, along with returning to the character of Sheneneh, opposite Jamie Foxx as Wanda, for The Skank Robbers. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

Martin Lawrence Says BAD BOYS 3 Still Real And Has Recently Talked to Will Smith and Michael Bay

Martin Lawrence says he’s in, Will Smith is ready and Michael Bay is game. He thinks Bad Boys 3 is still going to happen.

In an interview with MTV, the Big Momma’s House star said “I got Big Willie to come down and see me about the movie. I felt special.” He added “Any time you can get Big Willie to come out and talk about doing a third installment of a hot movie like Bad Boys, you have to take notice,” Lawrence explained. “I met with Michael Bay, and he said he’s onboard too – so it’s real.”

It was real last year too when Columbia hired Peter Craig to write a script . However, the main problem is getting all the players on the same schedule as Smith now has Men in Black 3 and Bay has Transformers 3, pushing this production back at least 2-3 years. Then there’s the little matter of the money man, producer Jerry Bruckheimer: “We’re just waiting on Jerry Bruckheimer to let us know when it’s really real,” Lawrence said.  Hit the jump to read about the cultural significance of the Bad Boys franchise and more.

Most of the time, finding out what a major A-list director is going to do next is a major scoop. But, occasionally, it’s as simple as reading his official website. So thanks to MichaelBay.com, we know Michael is figuring out what his next project will be. Acoording to the site, he’s either doing “Transformers 3″, “Bad Boys 3″, or “Pain & Gain”. While a sequel is always “in development” some place as long as the prior entries in the franchise are successful (and sometimes even if they’re not) but when you start hiring people to make that sequel a reality, it shows that you’re serious.  That you’re willing to make this sequel, this “shit”, if you will, real.

Hit the jump to find out how Columbia Pictures is doing it (and how I think they should do it) with BAD BOYS 3.
