Warner Bros. has released two posters and three banners for Wrath of the Titans.  There’s no kraken this time around so none of the characters are going to say, “Let’s get kraken.”  I know the plot involves the titans getting unleashed and Zeus (Liam Neeson) asking Perseus (Sam Worthington) for some help, but I don’t get the point without kraken puns.  Kraken puns make the world go round.

New Banners for THE AVENGERS

Marvel has released two new banners for The Avengers.  They’re almost identical to the previous banners except a couple of the poses are different and there isn’t a giant “A” covering the superheroes and Loki (still no love for S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders)).  But the kids love The Avengers so I’ve put the new banners after the jump.  The film opens in 3D on May 4, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, and Mark Ruffalo.

Marvel has released a new banner for The Avengers.  The banner is really just a collection of four character posters, so it will probably be split up at some point.  It’s neat to see Mark Ruffalo starting to go a little Hulk, but I’m not sure why Captain America’s new helmet is so shiny.  However, I do like that he can throw his shield and check for B.O. at the same time.  Every superhero needs to be able to multitask.

Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, and Cobie SmuldersThe Avengers opens in 3D on May 4, 2012. [Update: We've added another banner showcasing Nick Fury (Jackson), Loki (Hiddleston), Hawkeye (Renner), and Black Widow (Johansson)]

Four Character Banners for SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS

Warner Bros. has released four more character banners for Guy Ritchie‘s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.  There’s nothing particularly eye-catching about them, but for this movie WB could throw up a 27″ x 40″ poster reading: “Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law return to play Sherlock and Watson and you liked when they did that the last time.”  I’m also a bit curious as to why these posters have the characters standing in flames.  The characters look like they don’t know they’re standing in flames.  The flames aren’t crazy, but they’re still flames.  You don’t want to stand in them.

New Banner for THE SITTER Encourages You to Give Jonah Hill a Call

Back in August, the red-band trailer for director David Gordon Green’s The Sitter went online and I found myself wondering if foul-mouthed babysitters such as the one portrayed by Jonah Hill really exist. Fast-forward to the present and 20th Century Fox has not only assured me that they do exist, but has also given me a number where I can reach them.

In a new promotional banner for the film, you have Hill’s mug on a flyer (seen above) with a contact number listed below. While the imagery is cool enough given the film’s subject matter, rumor has it that Hill will occasionally be answering the line found by dialing (917) 409-7838. I gave the number a ring myself and got the voicemail for Hill’s character Noah, so I can’t confirm that anyone will ever actually answer your call. Nevertheless, I think it’s kind of a cool promotion that definitely caught my attention. Check out the banner after the jump. Also starring Sam Rockwell and Ari Graynor, The Sitter hits theaters later this year on December 9th.

With its May 26th release quickly approaching, Warner Bros. has released a new promotional banner for The Hangover Part II. While I’ve been known to be somewhat critical of the film’s trailer and television spots, I have to say that I enjoy any promotional materials that play up both Ken Jeong and the monkey (not trying to be disrespectful, I truly don’t know his name). Considering both are included here, this new banner is okay in my book.

Hit the jump to check it out. To peruse all of our previous coverage of The Hangover Part II, click here. Directed by Todd Phillips, The Hangover Part II stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Ken Jeong, Jamie Chung, and Justin Bartha.

Dark of the Moon.  The banner is impressive not because it shows new characters or hints at the story.  It’s impressive simply because it has Optimus Prime wielding a high-tech chain-gun, a massive blade, and looking straight at the viewer as if to say, “Yeah, that’s right: I’ve got weapons on both my arms. You’re going to show up whether there’s a story here or not.”

Marvel has released two new posters for Kenneth Branagh’s Thor.  Taking a turn away from the previous posters of “Tall bearded man holds mallet”, these new posters give audiences what they really want: words over the actors’ faces.  Yes, whether you’re white, old, female, or black, the word “Thor” makes the perfect addition to your gigantic mug.

Hit the jump to check out the posters.  Thor stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo, Stellan Skarsgard, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Josh Dallas, Tadanobu Asano, Idris Elba, Clark Gregg, and Colm Feore.  The film opens in 3D on May 6th.

Update: Paramount has sent over high resolution versions of both posters

New Banner for ARTHUR Remembers that Greta Gerwig Is in the Film

The first poster for Arthur was (in addition to being bland) slightly odd in that it didn’t feature Greta Gerwig, who plays the love interest of Russell Brand’s eponymous character.  Warner Bros. has now sent us a new banner for the film brings Gerwig in on the standing-and-sitting action enjoyed by Brand and co-stars Helen Mirren and Jennifer Garner.

Excitement surrounding the Coen Brothers’ latest film, True Grit, is building up a head of steam and we’ve now got four new character banners and the international poster. The new posters feature Josh Brolin, Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges looking badass, armed and dangerous, and newcomer Hailee Steinfeld, looking not-so-dangerous. For those not yet up to date, the movie sees Bridges as a hardened US Marshal helping a young girl (Steinfeld) track down her father’s killer (Brolin).

New TRON: LEGACY Billboard/Banner Starring Garrett Hedlund

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: July 14th, 2010 at 9:24 pm

The latest TRON: Legacy banner/billboard/poster has hit the web.  As you may or may not know, Disney has rented the billboard at Santa Monica/Westwood in Los Angeles for all of 2010.  Each month there’s a new billboard promoting the film.  The billboards have progressed from light-cycles to light vehicles and now to light-discs.  The new banner wants us to know that lead character Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), who is the son of Kevin Flynn (played by Jeff Bridges in the original film and in Legacy), is a badass with his light-disc and frosted tips.

Hit the jump to check out the new banner/billboard/poster as well as the previous five.  TRON: Legacy hits theaters on December 17th.
