Ever since it opened to a highly positive response at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, “Big Fan” has remained one of my most anticipated films of the year. While we got a look at the fantastic poster a few weeks ago, Yahoo! Movies has debuted the film’s trailer and I like what I see. I don’t think it conveys the “Taxi Driver”-vibe quite enough but that’s fine. I understand that they don’t want lure folks in and this is basically the synopsis (“A huge football fan and life failure, played by Patton Oswalt, gets beaten to shit by his favorite player”) in visual form. Oswalt looks amazing, you’ve got strong critical blurbs, and they don’t really give anything away. I don’t think I could ask for anything more other than I’d like to see the entire film right now.
Check out the trailer after the jump. “Big Fan” hits theatres on August 28th.

Three new posters for independent films have debuted over the last few days and I’ve compiled them into this handy article. Two of the posters are great. One misrepresents the film its selling in such a tremendous way that I hope families go see it. But I’ll get to that one last.
