Yesterday, select members of the press were invited to Digital Domain in Venice, Calif. to get a sneak peak at the highly anticipated Tron: Legacy, the sequel that’s been nearly three decades in the making. Since the film doesn’t open for another three months, we were only shown a preview of 23 minutes of various scenes throughout the film, but that 23 minutes left everyone present wanting more.

Following the footage, director Joe Kosinski did this exclusive interview with Collider, in which he spoke about how he got the job as director of his first feature, how his background in architecture was instrumental to his visual concept of the world and how, at its heart, even with all of the action and technology, Tron: Legacy is a father-son relationship story.

He also explained the additional scenes he shot once the film was done and the reason for them, revealed that there would be very little deleted footage for the DVD/Blu-ray when it’s released and said that he’s looking to focus on either his remake of The Black Hole or an adaptation of his graphic novel Oblivion, written by William Monahan, for his next project. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

Usually, we tell you who’s signing on to a project, but right now we’re going to tell you a couple directors who are signing off.  First up, Pajiba reports that director Breck Eisner (The Crazies) is no longer directing the remake of David Cronenberg’s The Brood.  However, the project isn’t dead and Spyglass Entertainment, the production company behind the remake, is now looking for a new director.  The original 1979 flick is about (per IMDb) “A man who  tries to uncover an unconventional psychologist’s therapy techniques on his institutionalized wife, while a series of brutal attacks committed by a brood of mutant children coincides with the husband’s investigation.”

Pajiba also reports that David Fincher is no longer involved with the adaptation of the graphic novel Black Hole.  Hit the jump for more on his departure from the project.
