With director Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles opening this weekend, I got to speak with most of the cast at the Los Angeles press junket. As most of you know, the film tells the story of an alien invasion as seen through the eyes of a Marine platoon headed up by Aaron Eckhart. The film also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Michael Pena and Ramon Rodriguez. You can watch some clips and read the full synopsis here.
Anyway, every day this week I’ve been posting a different interview and today I’ve got Pena & Moynahan. In the film they play civilians that meet up with the Marines in Santa Monica. During the interview, they talked about filming the big action scenes, how the final film compared to what they thought it would be, and we goofed around by talking golf, karaoke and future projects. It was their last interview of the day and they were down for having fun. Hit the jump to watch:

Sony has provided us with 2 clips and 3 TV spots from their upcoming film Battle: Los Angeles. The Jonathan Liebesman-directed flick stars Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan and Michael Pena. The stirring first trailer let audiences know that this isn’t your typical action movie. The film tells the story of an alien invasion as seen through the eyes of a Marine platoon headed up by Aaron Eckhart. Each subsequent piece of promotional material released did not disappoint, and it’s safe to say that the film looks to be quite a ride. Battle: Los Angeles hits theaters on March 11th. Sony has released a new poster for Battle: Los Angeles. I really hope this turns out to be a good flick and not just Independence Day with a shakier camera.

When I got to visit the set of director Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles when the production was filming in Shreveport, Louisiana in October of 2009, I was able to interview Aaron Eckhart, Michael Peña, Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan and Ramon Rodriguez. While some of the group had been filming all day (the interview was one of the last things they did), the group was still really excited to talk to us about how the shoot had been going and why they were excited to be a part of the movie. They also talked about how they got ready for the movie, the challenges of shooting in extreme heat with all the military equipment they had to wear, who they play, the boot camp that some of them had to go through, and a lot more. You can either read or listen to the interview after the jump. Also, if you missed my video blog about going to the set, you can watch it here.

In October of 2009, I was invited to visit the set of Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles while the production was filming in Shreveport, Louisiana. At the time, I didn’t know much beyond the basics (aliens attack and the Marine’s have to kick ass), but with sci-fi being my favorite genre, I knew that I wanted to see the production up close.
While my set visit illuminated what the film was going to be about and how Liebesman planned to shoot most of the film with handheld cameras, by now most of you already know the basics as the awesome Battle: Los Angeles trailers have been very popular with our readers. However, for the few that haven’t seen them, Battle: L.A. gets released March 11, and it stars Aaron Eckhart, Bridget Moynahan, Michael Pena, Ne-Yo, Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Ramon Rodriguez and many others.
Even though there are a number of “aliens attacking” movies on the horizon, I really believe Battle: Los Angeles is going to be very cool and most of it stems from being on set and seeing firsthand what the production was trying to accomplish. More after the jump:

In The Art of War, Sun Tzu says, “If you know both yourself and your enemy, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.” If the intel in Battle: Los Angeles’s new viral marketing is any good, we humans might just stand a fighting chance.
The movie pits Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, and Michael Pena against an alien invasion. You can see exactly what they’re up against (well, sort of) by taking a look at the teaser trailer and the more recently released theatrical trailer. Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, Battle: Los Angeles invades theaters on March 11th. Hit the jump for the classified files.

The theatrical trailer for Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles is now available online. Starring Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, and Michael Pena, the film is of the “alien invasion” variety and follows a Marine staff sergeant (Eckhart) as he and his team take on the unwelcome guests. A few months ago, the film premiered a great teaser trailer. While the theatrical trailer doesn’t quite live up to that stellar cut, it’s still an effective and suspenseful 2:30 minutes that manages to raise my modestly high expectations for the film even higher.

After flying under the radar, the upcoming sci-fi action film Battle: Los Angeles premiered a strong teaser trailer last night that should get people talking. It’s a bold trailer without dialogue, haunting music, and lots of explosions. It was even willing to risk not giving the title at the end. There’s now an international trailer online and it takes a more standard approach: voice-over guy, aliens attack, lots of explosions. Sometimes that can work too, although I definitely premiere the US version.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, Battle: Los Angeles stars Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Ne-Yo, and Michael Peña. It opens March 11, 2011.

Columbia Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for director Jonathan Liebesman’s alien invasion film Battle: Los Angeles and it’s fraking awesome. I absolutely love the way this teaser has been cut, and wait till you hear the song it’s cut to. Note to other studios, this is how you sell a movie in a teaser trailer.
If you’re not familiar with Battle: L.A., it stars Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight), Michelle Rodriguez (Machete), Michael Peña (Eastbound & Down), Joey King (Ramona and Beezus), and Bridget Moynahan (Blue Bloods) star.
Check out the teaser trailer after the jump and tell me you’re not excited.

The new CBS drama Blue Bloods follows a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. As the Police Commissioner, Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) runs his department as diplomatically as he runs his family, which consists of a seasoned detective son (Donnie Wahlberg), an Assistant D.A. daughter (Bridget Moynahan) and the youngest (Will Estes), who has decided to give up a lucrative future in law to become a cop.
During a recent interview, show star Tom Selleck talked about taking on another weekly series, working with such a strong ensemble, and the impact that Magnum P.I. had on his life and career. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

Some new set photos from Battle: Los Angeles have popped up online. They’re not bad for set photos when you consider one of them shows a mushroom cloud going up. That’s slightly better than an actor in costume leaving their trailer. I guess that’s the true power of mushroom clouds. Oh, and they’re the effect of an explosion killing thousands upon thousands of people. That’s also one of the things they’re known for. There’s also a photo of Aaron Eckhart in costume looking like a bad-ass.
Here’s the official plot synopsis so you know what causes mushroom clouds and bad-ass Eckhart: When unknown forces put the City of Angels under attack, it’s up to a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his new platoon to come to the rescue. As the invasion hits the streets of L.A., the Marines become our first and last line of defense against a highly powerful enemy. Bridget Moynahan (I, Robot), Michelle Rodriguez (Avatar) and Michael Peña (World Trade Center) co-star alongside an ensemble cast including Ramon Rodriguez and Ne-Yo.
So mushroom clouds and bad-ass Eckhart. What more do you need? Hit the jump to check out the photos. Battle: Los Angeles is slated to hit theaters on February 18, 2011.

With the sci-fi action movie “Battle: Los Angeles” set to start filming this week in New Orleans, director Jonathan Liebesman has added a few more soldiers to his platoon – the kind of soldiers that can act one hopes. Among LA’s new recruits are “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” star Ramon Rodriguez and R & B singer Ne-Yo. More after the jump.

Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Pena and Bridget Moynahan have just signed on to producer Neil Moritz’s sci-fi invasion thriller “Battle: Los Angeles” which begins shooting this fall under the direction of Jonathan “Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning” Liebesman. Original Film’s tale of an alien invasion held off on the streets of LA by a Marine sergeant and his platoon will star Aaron Eckhart as the Marine, with Rodriguez following where he leads. Pena (“Babel”) will play the father of a boy the Marines encounter and Bridget Moynahan, who would probably break a nail if she had to fire a gun, will play the film’s veterinarian. I’m not sure why an alien attack calls for veterinary skills, exactly, but that’s what THR printed…
