TV ratings are in for Monday, May 12th.  Here’s a brief rundown:

  • The bloody—if somewhat disappointing—first season finale of NBC’s The Blacklist was down 4% with a 2.6 rating in the 18-49 demo and scoring 10.5 million viewers.
  • Over on Fox, the second installment of 24: Live Another Day fell 23% from last week’s premiere, notching a 2.0 rating and garnering 6.44 million viewers.  Elsewhere on the network, Bones was up 7% with a 1.6 rating and 6.26 million viewers.
  • The season finale of ABC’s Castle was up 25% with a 2.0 rating and 10.36 million viewers.
  • CBS’ now-cancelled Friends with Better Lives dropped 6% to a 1.5 rating and 4.87 million viewers, while Mike & Molly rose 18% to a 2.0 rating and 6.96 million viewers.
  • Over on The CW, the cancelled Star-Crossed was up 33% to a 0.4 rating and 1.17 million viewers.

ABC Renews ONCE UPON A TIME, RESURRECTION, SCANDAL, and More; Orders HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER and Others to Series

It’s ABC’s turn to get in on the renewal/pilot order fun, as the network has renewed three dramas and ordered a few others to series.  Briefly:

  • ABC has renewed the drama series Scandal (duh), Modern Family (more duh), Once Upon a Time, Grey’s Anatomy, Castle, Revenge, The Goldbergs, The Middle, and freshman show Resurrection to return next season.
  • The network has also ordered three new dramas to series: the Viola Davis-fronted legal thriller How to Get Away with Murder from creator Shonda Rhimes, the racially charged American Crime from 12 Years a Slave scribe John Ridley, and the alien-invasion show The Whispers from executive producer Steven Spielberg.
  • On the comedy side, the pilots for Anthony Anderson’s Black-ish, the Karen Gillan-fronted Selfie, the romantic comedy Manhattan Love Story, and creator Dan Fogelman’s (The Neighbors) musical fairy tale Galavant have been ordered to series.

Monday TV Ratings: 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY Debuts Solid; 2 BROKE GIRLS Drops to Series Low

TV ratings for Monday, May 5th are in.  Here’s a brief rundown:

  • The return of 24 did pretty well, as Fox’s “limited series” 24: Live Another Day kicked off with a 2.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 7.97 million viewers.  That’s pretty in line with the show’s ratings during its final season four years ago, so the numbers aren’t significantly better or worse than where we left off—just like the quality of Live Another Day.
  • The penultimate episode of The Blacklist’s first season was even with last week’s 2.7 rating and garnered 10.61 million viewers on NBC.
  • CBS’ 2 Broke Girls dropped four tenths to a series low 1.9 rating and brought in 6.49 million viewers, Friends with Better Lives dipped three tenths to a 1.6 rating and 4.96 million viewers, and Mike and Molly was down four tenths to a 1.8 rating and 6.52 million viewers.
  • ABC’s Castle saw a drop of four tenths to a 1.6 rating and notched 8.93 million viewers.
  • Over on The CW, Star-Crossed was even with last week’s 0.3 rating and scored 930,000 viewers while the season finale of The Tomorrow People was even with last week’s 0.4 rating and brought in 1.01 million viewers.

TV ratings for Monday, April 28th are in.  Here’s a brief rundown:

  • Fox’s season finale of The Following ticked up 7% from last week’s series low to a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 4.78 million viewers.
  • Over on NBC, The Blacklist ticked down 4% to a 2.7 rating and garnered 10.87 million viewers.
  • ABC’s Castle rose 9% to a 1.9 rating and 10.12 million viewers.
  • CBS’ 2 Broke Girls rose 5% to a 2.2 rating and 7.78 million viewers, Friends with Better Lives was up 12% to a 1.9 rating and 6.22 million viewers, and Mike & Molly rose 16% to a 2.2 rating and 7.55 million viewers.
  • The CW’s Star-Crossed matched last week’s 0.3 rating and garnered 870,000 viewers, while The Tomorrow People tied last week’s series low 0.3 rating and notched 900,000 viewers.

TV ratings for Monday, April 21st are in.  Here’s a brief rundown:

  • The Blacklist returned from a brief hiatus with a revealing episode that hit a 2.8 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 11.19 million viewers, which is even with its last episode’s performance.  It topped the night in scripted programming.
  • ABC’s Castle also returned even with a 1.8 rating and 9.63 million viewers.
  • CBS’ Monday lineup continues to dip without its How I Met Your Mother lead-in, as 2 Broke Girls dropped two tenths to a series low 2.1 rating and 7.03 million viewers, Friends with Better Lives dipped a tenth to a 1.7 rating and 5.38 million viewers, and Mike & Molly was down two tenths to a 1.9 rating and 7.29 million viewers.
  • Fox’s Bones was even with last week’s 1.4 rating and scored 5.87 million viewers, while The Following matched last week’s series low 1.4 rating and 4.52 million viewers.

  • CBS’ How I Met Your Mother saw a surge in viewership for its penultimate episode, scoring a 3.4 rating in the 18-49 demo and 9.06 million viewers for a rise of half a ratings point.  Elsewhere at the network, 2 Broke Girls was up a tenth to a 2.3 rating and 7.33 million viewers, Mike & Molly rose two tenths to a 2.0 rating and 7.81 million viewers, Mom ticked up one tenth to a 1.9 rating and 7.36 million viewers, and Intelligence rose one tenth to a 1.2 rating and 4.96 million viewers.
  • NBC’s The Blacklist garnered a 2.9 rating and scored 11.03 million viewers, marking a rise of two tenths from last week’s 2.7 rating.

  • NBC’s The Blacklist dipped 13% from last week’s 3.1 rating to a 2.7 rating in the 18-49 demo and 11.07 million viewers.
  • Over on CBS, a rather shocking episode of How I Met Your Mother dropped 8% to a 3.3 rating and scored 9.11 million viewers.  Elsewhere on the network, 2 Broke Girls rose 4% to a 2.6 rating and 8.43 million viewers, Mike and Molly was up 5% to a 2.2 rating and 8.88 million viewers, Mom ticked up 5% to a 2.0 rating and 8.38 million viewers, and Intelligence was even with last week’s 1.2 rating and scored 5.27 million viewers.
  • Fox’s season finale of Almost Human was down 6% to a 1.5 rating and 5.65 million viewers, while The Following rose 6% to a 1.7 rating and 5.14 million viewers.
  • ABC’s Castle garnered a series low 1.6 rating and scored 8.14 million viewers.
  • The CW’s Star-Crossed was up 33% to a 0.4 rating and 1.19 million viewers, while Beauty and the Beast was even with a 0.3 rating and 879,000 viewers.

Monday evening’s TV ratings are in as the networks have returned to their regularly scheduled programming following the close of the Winter Olympics.  Here’s a brief look at the highlights:

  • NBC’s The Blacklist returned incredibly strong, notching a 3.1 rating in the 18-49 demo and scoring 11.28 million viewers.  That’s a rise of six tenths from the last original episode’s 2.5 rating.
  • Conversely, Fox’s The Following continues to bleed viewership as last night’s episode hit another series low with a 1.6 rating and 4.58 million viewers.  Read Allison’s recap here.
  • Fox’s other Monday night show, Almost Human, also hit a 1.6 rating but it drew more total viewers than The Following, scoring 5.7 million viewers.  Its rating was down one tenth from last week’s 1.7.

Monday evening’s TV ratings are in as we head into the final week of Winter Olympics coverage.  Briefly:

  • NBC’s Monday night coverage of the Winter Olympics hit a 5.6 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 23.46 million viewers.
  • Over on Fox, Almost Human was even with last week’s 1.6 rating and garnered 5.28 million viewers, while The Following tied last week’s series low 1.7 rating and pulled in 5.14 million viewers.  Read Allison’s recap here.
  • ABC’s Castle also matched its series low with a 1.7 rating and 7.78 million viewers, down 19% from its most recent episode’s 2.1 rating.
  • The new CBS drama Intelligence continues to struggle, as last night’s episode earned a 1.2 rating and 5.72 million viewers for a drop of 8% from last week.
  • The CW series premiere of Star Crossed notched a 0.4 rating in the demo and 1.24 million viewers, which is up 25% from Hart of Dixie’s performance in the same time period last week but down 50% from the premiere of The Tomorrow PeopleBeauty and the Beast was even with last week’s 0.3 rating and scored 766,000 viewers.

  • Last night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother (which was back to being frustratingly dull after last week’s excellent installment) dropped 13% to a 3.3 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 9.26 million viewers.  Elsewhere on CBS, 2 Broke Girls was even with a 3.0 rating and 9.2 million viewers, Mike & Molly was flat with a 2.6 rating and 10.18 million viewers, Mom dipped 4% to a 2.3 rating and 9 million viewers, and Intelligence was even with a 1.5 rating and 7.5 million viewers.

  • Without The Voice as its lead-in, The Blacklist returned to a 2.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and 9.11 million viewers, which is its lowest rating and smallest audience ever and down seven tenths from its last episode’s 3.2 rating.
  • The new drama series Intelligence dropped massively from its series premiere 2.4 rating to a paltry 1.1 rating and 6.11 million viewers (read Allison’s recap here).  Elsewhere on CBS, an excruciatingly unfunny How I Met Your Mother hit a 3.0 rating and 8.57 million viewers for a rise of three tenths, 2 Broke Girls rose four tenths to a 2.7 rating and 8.93 million viewers, Mike & Molly hit a 2.4 rating and 9.74 million viewers for a two tenths rise, and Mom was up two tenths to a 2.1 rating and 8.46 million viewers.
  • Over on Fox, Almost Human garnered a 2.0 rating and 6.77 million viewers for a rise of two tenths and Sleepy Hollow returned to a 2.2 rating and 6.39 million viewers, matching its last episode’s performance.
  • ABC’s Castle hit a 1.9 rating and 8.95million viewers, up two tenths from last week’s season low, while The CW’s Hart of Dixie ticked up a tenth to a 0.5 rating and 1.3 million viewers and Beauty and the Beast was even with a 0.3 rating and 800,000 viewers.

  • Fox’s new sci-fi drama series Almost Human ticked up to a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 6.2 million viewers, which is up 6% from its last original episode’s 1.6 rating.  Nothing out of this world, but a solid enough performance for a new drama series.
  • Over on ABC, Castle hit a season low 1.8 rating and 8.79 million viewers, dropping 14% from its last new episode’s 2.1 rating.
  • The two-hour series finale of CBS’ little-watched drama Hostages hit a 1.0 rating and 4.84 million viewers, matching its series low and dropping 17% from its last original episode’s 1.2 rating.

  • The disappointing final season of How I Met Your Mother continues to drone on, but last night’s episode marked a rise in both quality and ratings.  The Mother-infused episode garnered a 3.4 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.7 million viewers, which marks the show’s best performance since its series premiere and is up four tenths over last week’s 3.0 rating.
  • Over on NBC, the successful new drama series The Blacklist hit a series low 2.9 rating and 10.28 million viewers, dropping three tenths from last week’s 3.1 rating.  Nevertheless, it was still the second most-watched scripted program of the night.
  • Also down was the new Fox series Sleepy Hollow, which notched a series low 2.5 rating and 6.94 million viewers, down two tenths from its last original episode’s 2.7 rating.
