I’m sorry to say that Annie’s Boobs will not be taking over for Dan Harmon as showrunner of NBC’s Community next season. With Harmon’s impending departure, David Guarascio and Moses Port will take over the daily duties as both showrunners and executive producers. Rumor has it that Harmon, creator and executive producer for the first three seasons (which is almost half way to six seasons and a movie), may stay on as a consulting producer. Guarascio and Port have a long history of television writing and producing; they’re best known for the moderately long-running NBC series, Just Shoot Me and recently added Aliens in America, Happy Endings and El Jefe to their resume. It’s great that Guarascio and Port have experience in the industry and that should help with keeping the show afloat, but will the intangible allure of Community disappear with Harmon? Hit the jump for much, much more.
Update: Dan Harmon has responded to this sad news on his blog. Hit the jump for more.

Like most of you, I absolutely adore NBC’s Community. Unlike most shows that follow a set of rules, Dan Harmon‘s Community constantly shatters expectations and you never know where the next episode will take you. If you’re not watching, you really are missing out on one of the best shows on television.
Anyhow, if you’re a fan of Community and live in the L.A. area, you’re going to want to get to the Monk Space Gallery on June 23. That’s because PixelDrip is hosting a “Six Seasons and a Movie” art show that will have 130 artists from around the world paying tribute to the show! And the best part is admission will be free. More info after the jump.

There’s a variety of personalities that are interlaced in the study group on NBC’s Community, but the most eccentric of them all is Abed Nadir, played by Danny Pudi. At the beginning of the series he came off as the stereotypical socially awkward, nerdy type who quickly developed into a wonderfully complex character who’s going through even more of an identity crisis during the second half of this season. Will Evil Abed reign supreme in his mind? We don’t know, but we certainly want to find out.
We got the chance to speak with Danny Pudi about Abed being pushed to the limit this season, how fascinating it is he knows so much about pop culture and anymore possible Cougar Town references.

In celebration of the glorious news that NBC has picked up Community for a fourth season, and in anticipation of the three-episode finale this Thursday, May 17th, we’ve been provided with 20 posters to giveaway to some lucky readers. The posters are essentially propaganda for Ken Jeong’s character of Chang, but they make a fine wall decoration for fans of the series. Hit the jump to get a look at the poster and to find out how you can win.

The future of Adult Swim, Cartoon Network’s weird older brother, just got a little bit clearer, as the cable network has announced a bevy of new pilots that will compete for a schedule spot in 2012-2013. The most prominent of the bunch are an untitled animated continuation of the pot-fueled adventures of Harold & Kumar and Rick & Morty, a comedy from Community creator, Dan Harmon. The former is being scripted by franchise writers (and directors of Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay) Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg and will see stars John Cho and Kal Penn giving voice to animated versions of themselves. Rick & Morty, meanwhile, follows the adventures of an inventor and his dimwitted grandson. Hit the jump for more.

If there’s one thing that Community isn’t short on, it’s strong women. Easily one of the most powerful women in the show is Shirley, played by Yvette Nicole Brown. Her character was at first portrayed to be just a kind-hearted religious mother but as the seasons went by we got a better look at her complex personality and how that sometimes clashes with some members of the study group. Though the study group has had it’s differences in the past, Shirley has helped bring them back together. She’s the heart and soul of the group.
Back in February we got the chance to sit down and speak with Yvette Brown, dressed in hospital garb, not only about the latest episode but her love for the fans and how the season finale could possibly wrap up the entire show.

The upfronts are upon us! Yes, it’s that time of year again. All the networks will be unveiling their fall 2012 schedules throughout this week, announcing time slot shifts for seasoned shows and debuts for the pilots that made the cut to full-series. Today NBC announced their line-up with a pretty disparaging shake-up to the old schedule: Community has been moved from its prime Thursday night slot to Friday (aka where your favorite shows go to die). The fan-favorite series wasn’t guaranteed a fourth season pick-up, but the TV gods were merciful as the show was recently given a renewal for a 13-episode fourth season. However, the Friday slot isn’t exactly great news. The show’s young and vocal fanbase has kept the series alive, but I wonder how many will actually choose to stay in on Friday nights to watch the show live.
There is hope, as previous ratings-challenged yet critically loved series like Friday Night Lights and Fringe managed to squeak by on Friday. That said, with a short episode order and the new Friday timeslot I’m getting the feeling that NBC doesn’t have much faith in the show’s future post-season four. I guess we should be thankful that it’s even coming back at all. Nevertheless, the network has a slew of new series (some promising) that they hope will catch on. After the jump you’ll find descriptions and clips of all of NBC’s new series, so take a look at plot out your new fall 2012 TV schedule accordingly.

The character of Britta Perry on NBC’s Community doesn’t always have the best of luck when it comes to men or communicating with the group half of the time, but it’s just a couple of the many things about her kooky personality that television watchers absolutely love about her. Now that she’s figured out what she’s majoring in, psychology, her outspoken personality is even louder, which most of the group notices but still chooses to ignore. Britta, played by Gillian Jacobs, has already had her share of ups and downs during the second half of this season, but how will it all play out for her character by the end of it?
We recently got the opportunity to visit the set of Community and participated in a group interview with with Gillian Jacobs. She talked about what’s going on with Britta and Troy, what they were filming that day, fan art, would they ever do a live show, and a lot more. Hit the jump to watch.

The study group wouldn’t be the same, or would not have even formed, if it weren’t for Jeff Winger’s desire to get with Britta. Each one of the characters on the show bring something wonderfully unique to the group, but Jeff clearly is the leader, though that hasn’t always been the case. Now we’re just a couple of episodes away from the season finale of Community, and it’s been pretty up and down for the whole Greendale crew. Not only have they dealt with death and the Blanket/Pillow war, but the entire cast and crew had to deal with a long hiatus in between this third season.
A few weeks ago Collider got the chance to speak with several of the actors from Community. We got the chance to sit down with Joel McHale, the jokester, who not only talked about the hiatus but the future of the group and the great guest stars they got to work with this half of the season. Hit the jump to watch the interview.

That “six seasons and a movie” mantra that I’ve been chanting for the past week must have counted for something (you’re welcome, Internet). It’s just been reported that NBC has renewed the brilliantly funny comedy Community for a fourth season. We reported earlier today on the network’s renewals for Parenthood, The Office, and a final season of 30 Rock, but the lack of news about Community was troubling. Fans can now breathe much easier with the promise that everyone’s favorite study group will be back on our TV screens this fall. Following an abrupt, network-imposed hiatus, the series returned to strong ratings and has been drawing significant audiences week after week. Hit the jump for more.

NBC already ordered three new half-hour sitcoms: The New Normal, Go On, and Save Me. The network just added two more—1600 Penn and Animal Kingdom—which leaves little room for the many comedies that currently have a slot on the schedule. What does that mean for the likes of 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, and Community? Here are the bullet points:

By now, you’re most likely familiar with the NBC series Community. If you’re a fan of the show, you’re aware of its genius. If you’re not a fan of the show, you’ve no doubt heard of its genius from the legions of fans working tirelessly to recruit their friends to the show’s league of fandom. Not only is Community brilliant and whip-smart, but it’s also incredibly funny and is certainly one of the most wholly original shows on television. Last week I got the chance to speak with Danny Pudi, who plays Abed on the show, in conjuction with Speed Stick’s “Handle It” campaign.
Guys are encouraged to tweet their most awkward or embarrassing stories to @SpeedStick with the hashtag #HandleIt, and Pudi will choose his favorite submission, develop the script, and star in a video based on the entry as the winner’s “inner voice.” During the course of our conversation, Pudi talked about his own worst/most awkward “Handle It” moments, what’s coming up on Community (including another video game episode and an Ocean’s Eleven caper), and I asked him about his blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance in The West Wing. With one of the best shows on TV finally returning with new episodes, the cast of NBC’s Community and creator Dan Harmon were in great spirits at last weekend’s WonderCon. Shortly before their Sunday panel, I got to sit down with Harmon for an extended interview. We talked about being at the Con and his appreciation of the fans, where did the Beetlejuice nod come from, Inspector Spacetime and a possible guest star that could have played one of Abed’s longtime friends, will evil Troy and Abed make another appearance, are there any ideas that were too far out (he reveals one of them and it’s a great one!), where would a Community movie take place in the shows timeline if they were to make one (again, another awesome idea), will they get another season, and a lot more. Hit the jump to watch.

One of the funniest shows in television history has thankfully returned to the small screen after a brief hiatus. The cast and creative members of Community recently attended a panel discussion at WonderCon where they screened an upcoming episode to the audience’s delight. The ongoing chronicles of a study group at Greendale Community College continue to elicit big laughs and fans will be happy to know that there is a good chance the show will continue into a fourth season. You can help the show out by watching it live and keeping its numbers up. Community, starring Joel McHale, Chevy Chase, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Donald Glover, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong, airs Thursdays at 8pm EST on NBC. Hit the jump for our panel recap.

The NBC comedy series Community is finally returning with new episodes for the remainder of its third season tonight, much to the happiness of its devoted fans. Telling the story of a tight-knit Greendale Community College study group, that includes actress Yvette Nicole Brown as sassy middle-aged divorcée Shirley, the show is always smart, always clever and always funny.
During this recent interview to promote the return of the show, Yvette Nicole Brown was joined by actor Jim Rash, who plays the ulta-efficient yet slightly neurotic Dean Pelton, to talk about their feelings on teasing what’s to come versus revealing too much, upcoming storylines they wish hadn’t already gotten out, their favorite upcoming episode, their favorite scene from the series, a storyline they’d like to see for their characters, dream guest stars, their desire to do another musical episode, and whether they’ve ever “borrowed” anything from the set. Check out what they had to say after the jump.
