If you had no money and no personal contacts, could you survive 31 days on nothing but the goodwill of people on Craigslist? That’s the premise for director Joseph Garner’s upcoming documentary, Craigslist Joe. From executive producer Zach Galifianakis, Craigslist Joe follows Garner as he attempts to survive for a month with little more than a backpack, the clothes on his back and personal identification. He relies on Craigslist for food, shelter, wages and transportation. Garner wasn’t simply in search of an adventure, but rather to discover if a sense of community still existed in this modern era of social media where everyone is connected but communication has lost its intimacy. The characters he finds along the way are truly stranger than fiction. Craigslist Joe opens on August 2nd. Hit the jump for the synopsis, poster and trailer.
