In case you want to see more of Piranha 3DD’s cast than just David Hasselhoff, we have a new “making of” featurette for you to check out. The Hoff was recently featured in both a clip from the film as well as a character featurette. This new featurette, while still not a real behind-the-scenes look, showcases David Koechner, Katrina Bowden and Gary Busey talking about their characters and the fictitious lengths they had to go through to bring Piranha 3DD to the screen. If you’re a fan of boobs and blood, or just an amateur icthyologist eager to learn more, you’ll want to hit the jump to check out the NSFW video. Directed by John Gulager, the film also stars Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer and Danielle Panabaker. Piranha 3DD opens on June 1st.

The first teaser trailers for director Adam McKay‘s Anchorman 2 has gone online. While I love reporting on movie news, I can’t help but be a little jealous of Anchorman fans who will walk into The Dictator, and had no idea that Anchorman 2 was on the way (I’m working off the assumption these fans also missed Ron Burgundy’s announcement on Conan). We don’t know what the plot of the sequel will be (it might involve the dawn of the 24-hour news cycle and diversity), but it will most likely contain more of the brilliant one-liners you heard in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and the ones you’ll hear in this trailer. We’ve also included an exclusive teaser trailer from FunnyOrDie, which contains different dialogue.
Hit the jump to watch the trailers, and click here to check out the poster. The film stars Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and David Koechner. Anchorman 2 (possibly titled Anchorman: The Legend Continues) opens in 2013.

If you’re a fan of Adam McKay‘s Anchorman, the last few months have been amazing. Not only did Paramount suddenly greenlight the sequel after everyone involved thought it was dead, but the studio got McKay and the entire Channel 4 news team (sans Christina Applegate) to shoot a teaser trailer that will be attached to prints of The Dictator!
But it gets better.
In addition to the teaser trailer that should be online soon, Paramount has just released the first poster and it looks like the official title is Anchorman: The Legend Continues. Hit the jump for more.

Though Anchorman 2 doesn’t begin production until next February, Paramount thought it’d be a nice idea to go ahead and shoot a short teaser trailer to drum up awareness. As we first reported, the teaser will be attached to prints of The Dictator and it includes the entire Channel 4 news team (sans Christina Applegate). Writer/director Adam McKay recently talked a bit about getting the gang back together to shoot the teaser and dropped a few hints about what to expect in the follow-up (no Ghost Rider, a Serpico beard, and either 3D or ½ D). Hit the jump to see what he had to say.

A batch of new images from Piranha 3DD has gone online, but with a title like that one doesn’t really need much more elaboration in order to decide if the film is up his or her alley. Yes, the images highlight lots of boobs and blood, but we also get new looks at stars David Hasselhoff and David Koechner. Yesterday we brought you a new clip from the film with a nice Baywatch nod, which you can check out right here.
Hit the jump to take a gander at the images. Directed by John Gulager, the film also stars Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, Katrina Bowden, and Danielle Panabaker. Piranha 3DD opens on June 1st.

Though principal photography for the long-awaited Anchorman 2 isn’t scheduled to begin until next February, it appears that we’ll actually get our first look at the reunited Channel 4 news team much sooner than we thought. We’ve been told by someone who caught an advanced screening of The Dictator that the Sacha Baron Cohen comedy is preceded by a brief teaser featuring the entire news team (sans Christina Applegate) talking about how excited they are to return. Huzzah! Hit the jump for more.

Dimension Films is doubling your pleasure with a second helping of boobs, blood and killer fish in this summer’s Piranha 3DD. For a while now, I thought the extra D was a cleverly disguised breast joke, but apparently it stands for “David,” as in David Hasselhoff. This new clip from the film features The Hoff in his oh-so-familiar role as a lifeguard. Fans of the glory days of Baywatch will get a kick out of the segment and the humor aimed at an aging Hasselhoff is spot-on to what you can expect from Piranha 3DD. Be sure to check out the trailer, red-band trailer, posters and images, as well. The film stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Koechner, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, Paul Scheer, and Gary Busey. Piranha 3DD opens June 1st. Hit the jump to check out the new clip.

Dimension Films has unleashed seven new images from the gore-heavy sequel Piranha 3DD. They highlight everything we expect to see from the follow-up to Piranha 3D: good looking girls in swimsuits, Ving Rhames with a gun attachment instead of a leg, and David Hasselhoff. The sequel moves the action to a water park that’s (naturally) kept safe by stripper lifeguards, and I’m assuming much nudity and/or carnage ensues.
Hit the jump to check out the images. The film also stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Koechner, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Gary Busey.

I genuinely thought this day would never come. After coming thisclose to a greenlight with the original cast and director in tow, Paramount ultimately passed on a sequel to Anchorman, one of the best comedies of the past 25 years. Writer/director Adam McKay revealed that their pitch to the studio was to do an all-out musical, with the entire cast performing for four months on Broadway before going straight into production. Apparently averse to brilliant ideas, Paramount balked at the notion. Now, with great pleasure, I’m happy to say that Anchorman 2 is back on track. Hit the jump for more.
[Update: Backstage video of Ron Burgandy/Will Ferrell's antics has gone online, and we've included it after the jump. Also, McKay confirmed on Twitter that the movie is definitely happening and filming on Anchorman 2 will begin in February 2013. Huzzah!]

Small Apartments deserves credit for getting inside your head through force of strangeness alone, and it has enough going on to merit at least some kind of interpretation. You can argue with yourself to no end about whether or not director Jonas Åkerlund has made a subversive slam against trying to find human connection when our own baggage shuts us off from the world, or if he’s delivered a pat, mawkish ending that doesn’t fit with previous moments of derision towards sentiment. Rather than leave your head spinning, Small Apartments just leaves your head aching.

The first trailer for Piranha 3DD has gone online. For everyone who loved the first movie, the new trailer wants to let you know, “All that stuff you liked? The boobs, the gore, the silliness, and all that stuff? Yep. That’s all here. Enjoy.” There seems to be some creative kills in store in addition to the goofiness of stripper-lifeguards and Ving Rhames-Gunlegs. My only problem with this trailer is the notable absence of Gary Busey. Hopefully, we’ll see him and his piranha-related lunacy soon.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film also stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Koechner, David Hasselhoff, Christopher Lloyd, and Paul Scheer. Piranha 3DD currently does not have a release date.

Exclusive Media Group has acquired worldwide rights to the comedy Outrun. The “high-octane, action romantic comedy” was written by Dax Shepard, who will also star in and co-direct the film with David Palmer. Joining Shepard in the cast is Kristen Bell, Bradley Cooper, Tom Arnold, Kristin Chenoweth, Beau Bridges, David Koechner, Joy Bryant (Parenthood), and Ryan Hansen (Party Down). The film centers on an ex-getaway driver (Shepard) who exits the Witness Protection program to drive his pretty girlfriend (Bell) to Los Angeles so that she can land her dream job. The authorities and his former gang (led by Cooper) get wind of his reappearance and set out to chase him down. This isn’t Shepard’s first time behind the camera, as he also co-directed 2010’s Brothers Justice with Palmer.
This is a pretty great cast here, and I can see them having fun with the silly premise. I’m actually surprised Cooper is fitting the film into his schedule, as he’s quite the busy guy at the moment. He’s currently filming David O. Russell’s The Silver Linings Playbook, and he’s set to move on to Alex Proyas’ Paradise Lost next, followed by Steven Soderbergh’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Shepard has actually proved himself to be a solid dramatic actor on NBC’s vastly underrated Parenthood. The show comes from Friday Night Lights’ Jason Katims and if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend you check it out. Hit the jump for the full press release regarding Outrun.

Sometimes you get what you want. If you have been a fan of the previous entries in the Final Destination series, the fifth entry is ready to prove that this franchise hasn’t given in to death just yet. A sequel like this one could feel like more of the same, yet the magnificence of going over the top with ridiculous deaths is half of the charm of the series. People are going to die, in a certain order, but the other appeal is that you never know what is going to get them and when. At least, that should be the setup, and that’s exactly what Final Destination 5 gets right. Director Steven Quale and screenwriter Eric Heisserer embrace the inevitability of the deaths, but don’t telegraph the how. Along the way we are treated to two outstanding set pieces, even more deaths, and pleasing use of 3D where it counts. The film plays as more black comedy than horror, but there are cringe worthy moments that don’t involve the gore. Hit the jump for my full review.

With director Steven Quale’s Final Destination 5 opening this weekend, we’ve been provided with 5 clips from the film. Since we all know what a Final Destination movie is about, I’m not going to try and explain the story. The important thing to know is the movie was shot in 3D and based on the footage I saw at Comic-Con, it’s really worth paying the extra money to see it in 3D. Trust me, the footage looked fantastic and 3D is the only way I’d see this movie. In addition, Hunter covered the press junket yesterday and he told me that the film was great and the 3D added a lot. Look for his video interviews with the cast in the coming days. Until then, check out the 2D footage after the jump.
Final Destination 5 stars Emma Bell, Nick D’Agosto, Miles Fisher, Arlen Escarpeta, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, P.J. Byrne, Ellen Wroe, Courtney B. Vance, David Koechner, and Tony Todd.

Final Destination 5 star Miles Fisher’s is also a musician and creator of viral parodies. He’s blended both for his single “New Romance” where he and his fellow Final Destination 5 stars take on a Saved by the Bell look and promptly get slaughtered in a variety of hilarious ways. It’s yet another acknowledgement that these movies may not be intended to scare as much as they’re designed for grotesque laughs. Also, if you ever wanted to see Jessie Spano get destroyed by her own locker, this is the video for you.
Hit the jump to check out the parody. The film and music video also stars Nicholas D’Agosto, Emma Bell, Arlen Escarpeta, P.J. Byrne, Ellen Wroe, Jacqueline MacInnes-Wood, and David Koechner in the Mr. Belding role. Final Destination 5 opens in 3D on August 12th.
