Original LOST Auditions; Watch Matthew Fox, Jorge Garcia, and Dominic Monaghan Audition for Sawyer

It’s no surprise that if there was a character you wanted to play when Lost first started, it would be Sawyer (or Locke).  Thirteen audition tapes from the original cast (minus Terry O’Quinn) have landed online and it’s fascinating to see Matthew Fox, Jorge Garcia, and Dominic Monaghan all try out for the character.  Of course, when you see Josh Holloway’s audition, it’s hard to imagine that he didn’t get the role in the room.  One of the most impressive aspects of Lost is that it’s been able to maintain the strength of its best characters (or at least my personal favorites).  Sawyer, Locke, Ben, and Hurley have been fantastic throughout the run of the series.  But watching these tapes, the biggest challenge is in seeing the actors play

Hit the jump to see the thirteen audition tapes, which also include Naveen Andrews, Ian Somerhalder, Maggie Grace, Harold Perrineau, Daniel Dae Kim, Emile de Ravin, Malcolm David Kelly all auditioning for the roles they eventually got, plus Yunjin Kim auditioning for Kate. There’s also a joke audition from Comic-Con of Michael Emerson trying out for the role of Hurley.

FLASHFORWARD Producer/Show Runner Jessika Borsiczky On Set Video Interview

The other week I was on the set of ABC’s FlashForward and was able to speak with executive producer/show runner  Jessika Borsiczky.  While I already posted my interviews with the stars of the show and they came out great (Dominic Monaghan, Joseph Fiennes and Sonya Walger), if you want to find out what’s really going to happen on FlashForward, you’ve got to go to the producer/show runner.  Thankfully, she was more than happy to talk about what’s coming up this season and after the jump you can watch what she had to say.  As always, I’ve listed all the questions and some of the answers before the interview.

Dominic Monaghan On Set Video Interview FLASHFORWARD

If you’re a fan of ABC’s FlashForward, you’re about to be very happy.  That’s because the show is finally coming back with new episodes this week and I’ve got a few on set interviews with the cast to help promote the show.  Up first… Dominic Monaghan.

On FlashForward, Monaghan plays Dr. Simon Campos.  He’s the partner of Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport) and he may have been responsible for the worldwide blackout.  Of course with a show like FlashForward - where nothing is as it seems – it’s hard to tell if  Monaghan really is responsible, or if he’s just a pawn in someone else’s game.

Anyway, last week I was on the set of the show as ABC invited a number of online journalists to talk to the cast. While Monaghan was tight lipped about what might happen (he’s been trained well thanks to Lost), I still got some good stuff out of him.  Hit the jump to see what he had to say.

CHUCK The Complete Second Season Blu-ray Review

Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up and be a secret agent overnight?  As the titular lead of the television show Chuck, Chuck Bartowski would probably say it’s not so nice, but he’s had his fair share of adventure and lady love.

For those who need a download of information on the series, brace yourselves.  Chuck works for the Nerd Herd department of a Burbank Buy More store, an ode to Best Buy’s Geek Squad (which, by the way, does have a Burbank location).  Chuck had a simple life until he opens an email sent from his former college roommate and the whole of the United States’ secret information gets downloaded directly into his brain.   More after the jump.

Collider Attends a FLASHFOWARD Pilot Screening – Read Richard’s Reaction Plus Info from the Q & A

Whenever normal people hear the phrase “science fiction,” they run for the hills and never look back.  I am not one of those people, so it was with great pleasure that I accepted an invitation to see an advanced screening of the pilot for ABC’s new series FlashForward at the Arclight in Hollywood, followed by a Q & A with the producers and much of the cast.

Like the brilliant Lost and Battlestar Galactica before it, FlashForward is not your typical sci-fi and it should appeal to geeks and normal’s alike.  The makers of this show understand that it’s human drama and not cool visuals that make for compelling science fiction.  Set your phasers on fun and read more after the jump!

Flash Forward, the new sci-fi show for ABC, premiered the opening fifteen minutes at Comic Con, and the cast and crew were there to talk about it.

Produced and co-written by David S. Goyer (of Batman Begins fame) and Marc Guggenheim (writer for Marvel Comics and the upcoming Green Lantern movie) the show is a science fiction story about what happens when everyone in the world suddenly blacks out and has visions of events six months in their future. It stars Joseph Fiennes, John Cho, and Dominic Monaghan. Read a description of the footage, plus the thoughts of the creators, after the jump.

LOST Season 1 and 2 Blu-ray Reviews – Dellamorte Had Not Watched LOST Until a Week Ago

by Andre Dellamorte    Posted: July 9th, 2009 at 10:40 am

Lost image.jpg

Until a week ago, I had never seen more than thirty seconds of Lost. There’s a good reason for this: I don’t watch TV. That’s not because I’m a snob, it’s because I always have a pile of movies to watch. And as that is the case, making time to watch television has always been a luxury I’ve denied myself. So, with that in mind there’s going to be two types of people reading this. People like me who never watched the show, and those who are religious about it, or got turned off at some point. I will gear the first part of the review for those who haven’t seen it and the second part for those who have. It’s all after the jump:

Has LOST’s Dominic Monaghan Been Found?

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: June 5th, 2009 at 9:13 pm

lost_image_dominic_monaghan_charlie_pace_01.jpgLook, “Lost”–we have a deal.  You get to mindfuck me as much as you want for the four months of the year when you’re on the air.  The other eight I get to try and wrap my head around the latest season before coming to conclusion I always come to which is that I won’t understand the puzzle until I have all the pieces so I should just give my poor brain a break. [Spoilers from this point on]

You broke the deal, “Lost”.  Or rather, ABC did by airing a new promo featuring Dominic Monaghan who played Charlie Pace.  There’s just one problem:  Charlie died at the end of season three so what the fuck is going on when Patrick Dempsey says to him during a little foosball game, “You’re so dead!” and Monaghan turns to foosball partner Courtney Cox (who will be on ABC’s upcoming “Cougar Town”) and says “I was.”

Did the Losties really manage to alter time in the season finale?  I’ve been maintaining that they actually caused the incident rather than avoiding it.  To change time and make the plane land safely in New York, there’s no way that Sun is back at the island three years later with Ajira people, the Others, and all those weird goings on…unless there are now two parallel timelines, in which case…

And I’ve gone cross eyed.  We had a deal, “Lost”!  Check out the promo after the jump.  The final season of “Lost” premieres in 2010.
