Season of the Witch is a supernatural action adventure that follows Behman (Nicolas Cage), a man who returns home after years of brutal warfare, only to find his world destroyed by the Black Plague. When the church elders, convinced that a girl accused of being a witch (Claire Foy) is responsible for the devastation, command Behman and his closest friend Felson (Ron Perlman) to transport the strange girl to a remote monastery where monks will perform an ancient ritual to rid the land of her curse, the men embark on a harrowing, action-filled journey that will test their strength and courage. As the mission is made even more challenging by increasingly disturbing events, the men discover the girl’s dark secret and find themselves battling a powerful force that will determine the fate of the world.
In a recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage talked about why he was attracted to this project, getting to use a sword and ride a horse for the role, working with Christopher Lee, who he is a true admirer of, re-teaming with director Dominic Sena (they did Gone in Sixty Seconds together), and how much he enjoyed filming in Austria. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

With director Dominic Sena’s Season of the Witch opening on January 7, we’ve been given 9 movie clips and an exclusive TV spot. Here’s the synopsis:

Considering what it represents and the amazing stuff it predates, Dominic Sena’s 1993 film Kalifornia deserves a better Blu-ray release. This bare bones disc contains only a trailer and an unrated version of the film that runs three minutes longer than the theatrical version. That’s pretty insane considering the film could be considered a precursor to Brad Pitt’s crazy roles in Se7en and 12 Monkeys, Lewis’s role in Natural Born Killers, Duchovny was just about to break with The X-Files (the movie and show premiered within a week of each other) and Sena went on to super stardom with films like Swordfish and Gone in 60 Seconds. Well, maybe not the last two. Hit the jump for more.

Immediately, the premise of Whiteout, the 2009 thriller based upon Greg Rucka’s graphic novel of the same name, is both intriguing and exciting; a U.S. Marshal hiding from her personal demons in the most isolated place on Earth, Antarctica, stumbles upon a dead body out in the middle of the frozen wilderness, becoming embroiled in the first homicide investigation in the history of the continent. While the promise of the concept is in many ways delivered upon, the resulting film leaves some things to be desired. Read the rest of my review of the Kate Beckinsale vehicle after the jump.

Whiteout refers to a weather condition in which snow and clouds produce a uniform whiteness, making visibility and objects difficult to see. A lack of vision is also aptly suited in describing this far-fetched murder mystery starring Kate Beckinsale. My review after the jump:

When you sit down to do an on camera interview, you never know what’s going to happen. You can walk in with great questions and leave with the worst interview. Or, sometimes, you can get a fantastic interview when you least expect it. And that’s what happened when I sat down with Kate Beckinsale for her new movie “Whiteout”. For some reason, I got a lot of extra time with her, so not only did we talk about making “Whiteout”, we also talked about her last film “Nothing But the Truth”, “The Last Days of Disco”, “Underworld”, and a lot more. It’s a great interview that’s absolutely worth watching. Take a look after the jump:

Interviewing two people at the same time is hard. The reason is, when you’re interviewing just one person, you can focus all your energy and questions on that individual. But when you have two people ready and willing to answer questions, you’ve got to come up with stuff they both can talk about and you never know if they’re going to play off each other. Sometimes you only have the time to ask one question because they’ll keep going on and on. Trust me, it’s a challenge. Thankfully, when I sat down to speak with Alex O’Loughlin and Gabriel Macht for their new movie “Whiteout”, not only did they play off each other quite well, we had enough time to ask some individual questions. So if you’re curious what making “Whiteout” was like and what they have coming up, take a look at the interview after the jump.
Also, since it’s not online, Gabriel revealed that he’s been cast in Edward Zwick’s new film “Love and Other Drugs” opposite Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Opening on September 11th is director Dominic Sena’s action thriller “Whiteout”. The film stars Kate Beckinsale as a US Marshal trying to solve Antarctica’s first homicide. To help promote the film, we’ve been provided with 7 clips from the movie and they’re after the jump – along with the full synopsis. Take a look:
After an eternity of waiting, director Dominic Sena’s “Whiteout” finally has a trailer. If “Whiteout” sounds familiar, it’s because the film was promoted at Comic-Con a long time ago and it was supposed to be out last year. It’s one of those films that magically disappeared from the schedule and all of a sudden, it’s back on.
That’s never a good thing.
Saying that, I love the voice over in this trailer. It’s like it was made in the 70′s. And while the film might not win any awards for Best Picture, with Kate Beckinsale as the lead, I’m curious. Take a look at the trailer after the jump.
