Magnet Releasing announced today via press release that it has acquired domestic distribution rights to the horror/comedy Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. Starring Alan Tudyk, Tyler Labine, and Katrina Bowden, the film features a continuously rising body count that derives from the misconception that Tucker and Dale (Tudyk and Labine) are backwoods murderous creeps ala Deliverance. The film debuted at Sundance all the way back in 2010 at which point Steve conducted video interviews with both Tudyk and Labine. You can click here and here to check out each of those sit-downs and click here to take in three clips from the film. Per the announcement, Magnet plans to release the pic on VOD platforms on August 26th and theatrically on September 30th.

With Sundance getting ready to start next week, we’ve been given some clips from director Eli Craig’s Tucker & Dale vs. Evil – which stars Alan Tudyk, Tyler Labine Labine and Katrina Bowden.
The film is part of the “Park City at Midnight” category. Here’s the short synopsis:
Two West Virginian hillbillies go on vacation at their dilapidated mountain cabin, but their peaceful trip goes horribly awry.
I’ve heard good things about the film, but we’ll all know if the positive buzz is true next week. Until then, check out the clips after the jump…along with a better synopsis:

Along with the images from 7 Days, Frozen, HIGH School, and Splice, we also have new images today from The Perfect Host starring David Hyde Pierce, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil starring Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine, and The Violent Kind. All these films will be premiering at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival in the “Park City at Midnight” category. The films that play in this category may not have the most prestige among the films at the festival, but they may end up being some of the most fun. Judging from the images, I particularly think Dale & Tucker vs. Evil could be a blast. Hit the jump to check out images and synopses for the three films.
The 2010 Sundance Film Festival runs from January 21-31st.
