If you’re a fan of the property, chances are you already know that the ThunderCats will be returning to television courtesy of Cartoon Network. Although the series doesn’t debut until a week from today (Friday, July 29th), the network screened the debut episode at Comic-Con in Room 6A. For my thoughts on the screening and the ensuing panel, hit the jump. [Warning: Spoilers may lie ahead]

A few weeks ago we brought you footage from the first trailer for Cartoon Network’s rebooted Thundercats animated series. Today, we have what seems to be casting confirmation from the new voice of Panthro, Kevin Michael Richardson (The Cleveland Show). While discussing the upcoming series, Richardson claims that the voice of Lion-O is being provided by Will Friedle. Probably best known (by me at least) for his turn as Eric Matthews in ABC’s long-running sitcom Boy Meets World, Friedle also has an extensive amount of voice acting credits under his belt with series’ such as Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Batman Beyond, and Kim Possible.
In addition to Richardson and Friedle, Emmanuelle Chriqui also revealed that she is lending her pipes to an unidentified character for the new-look Thundercats via her recent interview with us. For more on what Richardson had to say about the series, hit the jump to check out his video interview.
UPDATE: We’ve confirmed with the studio that Emmanuelle Chriqu is the voice of Cheetara.

In Elektra Luxx, the follow-up to writer/director Sebastian Gutierrez’s 2009 film Women in Trouble, actress Emmanuelle Chriqui plays Bambi, a sexy stripper who has gone on a getaway trip to Mexico with her best friend, Holly Rocket (Adrianne Palicki). While away, porn star Holly Rocket decides to finally get up the courage to tell Bambi how she really feels about her, truly shocking the unexpecting Bambi.
At the film’s press day, Emmanuelle Chriqui did this exclusive interview with Collider, where she talked about revisiting this character, how much she has enjoyed working with Adrianne Palicki, and how Sebastian Gutierrez is great to work with because he just innately understands her, as a person. She also talked about voicing a character on the ThunderCats reboot on Cartoon Network (update: we’ve spoken to the studio and confirmed it’s Cheetara) and the Tron: Uprising animated series (set to air on Disney XD in the summer of 2012, with a preview on the DVD/Blu-ray release of Tron: Legacy), her role on the upcoming Showtime series The Borgias, and what she’d like to see happen with her character on the last season of the HBO series Entourage. Check out what she had to say after the jump:

After TRON: Legacy landed with a thud, I’ve found it difficult to care about where the story goes from here. However, Disney still believes in their black-and-neon franchise and they’re moving forward with the new animated series TRON: Uprising. The series will air on Disney XD in summer 2012 and cover the events between the original TRON and Legacy. A teaser trailer for the series has gone online and if you loved TRON: Legacy, then you’ll probably love this too. It has light cycles and stuff.
More promising is an upcoming remix of TRON: Legacy‘s outstanding score. Pitchfork reports that Disney will release Tron: Legacy R3CONFIGUR3D on April 5th and it will feature M83, Photek, Moby, Com Truise, and others remixing Daft Punk’s score. The remix soundtrack is available to buy in various special editions on the score’s official website. Hit the jump to check out the TRON: Uprising trailer and the track list for Tron: Legacy R3CONFIGUR3D.

The trailer for Girl Walks into a Bar has gone online. The film has an impressive cast that includes Carla Gugino, Zachary Quinto, Danny DeVito, Josh Hartnett, Rosario Dawson, Alexis Bledel, and Robert Forster. Based solely on the trailer, I have no idea was to what the movie’s about. But Girl‘s hook doesn’t seem to be it’s cast or its story, but rather its distribution method. Girl Walks into a Bar will be presented by Lexus and YouTube for free, exclusively on YouTube. The money quote in the press release comes from Lexus VP of Marketing Dave Nordstrom:
“It seems fitting to support this initiative as we launch our most unconfined vehicle yet—the CT 200h hybrid —in a space that we know will reach an unconventional, sophisticated audience.” (emphasis mine)
Clearly, Mr. Nordstrom has never been on YouTube. Hit the jump to check out the trailer, four images from the film, and the full press release. Girl Walks into a Bar goes online March 11th.

It’s been sitting on the shelf for a little while, but Elektra Luxx, the sequel to director Sebastian Gutierrez’s 2009 film Women in Trouble, finally has a trailer. The film stars Carla Gugino as a former porn star who agrees to seduce a woman’s fiancée but ends up getting drawn into a world of wacky intrigue. In addition to Gugino, the film’s got a great cast which includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Timothy Olyphant, Adrianne Palicki, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Marley Shelton, and Malin Akerman. But the real reason to see it is Gugino in skimpy clothing.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. Elektra Luxx is due out March 11th.

With Disney’s long awaited sequel Tron Legacy hitting theaters in a little over a month, fans are foaming at the mouth for everything Tron related. Even after the movie gets released, audiences will have something new to look forward to on the grid as Variety reports Disney XD has ordered Tron: Uprising an animated series being developed for release in the summer of 2012. Charlie Bean (Samurai Jack) will executive produce and direct the series, so you know the action will be amazing, and Tron Legacy writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz will serve as consulting producers. Are you a hot actress? Are you not even an actress but still really hot? Good news! With the departure of Megan Fox from Transformers 3, the rumor mill has kicked into high gear about who could be playing Sam Witwicky’s new love interest. The Wrap says Gemma Arterton (Clash of the Titans) is the front-runner to replace Fox but supermodels Bar Rafaeli, Miranda Kerr and Brooklyn Decker are also in the running. AICN broadens the field by adding Zoe Saldana, Hayden Panetierre, Vanessa Hudgens, Amber Heard, Camilla Belle, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Ashley Greene, Julianne Hough (Dancing with the Stars), Jessica Lowndes, and (yet another model) Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to the names under consideration.
I have no idea who will be chosen. I don’t really care because I believe that none of these women are being considered for their acting talent, whether they have any or not. With that in mind, I’ve just included a gallery of all of them after the jump so you can decide who’s the most attractive. I’m reasonably sure the producers are using the same criteria. Oh, and once again: these names are all rumored.

The first big questions that popped into my head when I heard of the movie Women in Trouble were who in the world is Sebastian Gutierrez, and how in the world did he get Carla Gugino, Connie Britton, Adrianne Palicki, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Marley Shelton to all star in his movie?
And, more amazingly, how did he get them to play a pregnant porn star, two call girls and a stewardess about to join the mile high club in an airplane toilet? Well, having watched this, I’m still not sure how he managed to pull any of it off, but I can tell you that what he came up with is a little indie comedy that borrows extremely liberally from Pedro Almodovar and Robert Altman.
Hit the jump to find out whether or not any of this works on DVD.

Before we continue, Renny Harlin’s upcoming film “Georgia” is not about The Peach State and the tale how Coca-Cola will one day flow out of our drinking fountains. “Georgia” is based on last year’s conflict between Russia and the country of Georgia. THR reports that hottie/red-carpet eye candy Emmanuelle Chriqui will play opposite Val Kilmer in the drama about an American journalist (Kilmer) and his cameraman caught in the crossfire and a Georgia native (Chriqui) and doctoral student who becomes entangled with them.
Chriqui is best known for her role on “Entourage” playing the love interest of Kevin Connolly’s character, Eric. Since “Entourage’ is a fantasy, I believe the most recent episode featured a tearful goodbye between them before Eric had to go and drop the The One Ring into Mount Doom. Kilmer has appeared in numerous roles but he has a lifetime free pass from me for his performance in “Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang”. And as for Renny Harlin, he made “Cutthroat Island” and has since kept trying to go even lower with “Driven”, “Mindhunters”, “Exorcist: The Beginning”, and “The Covenant”. I like “Cliffhanger” too but no one should even sell that guy a camcorder after that track record. Anyway, there’s nothing more to say about “Georgia” but if you want to see some pictures of Chriqui letting us all know she’s attractive, hit the jump.

Universal has already issued their horror releases for Halloween, and I’ve already reviewed them, so I’m reviewing half of the 20th Century Fox releases for Halloween. Child’s Play, and Wrong Turns one and two. At least two of these movies are pretty good. My reviews after the jump.
