Quentin Tarantino’s Top 20 Films of 2010

As we enter 2011, Quentin Tarantino has revealed his top ten films of 2010.  The list includes the usual suspects (Toy Story 3, The Social Network) along with some fun surprises like Tangled and, shall we say “peculiar” surprises like Robin Hood.  Tarantino didn’t provide any comment on his choices, but said of his number ten pick, Enter the Void,

“Hands down best credit scene of the year? Maybe best credit scene of the decade. One of the greatest in cinema history.”

Collider’s FANTASTIC FEST Diary: Day 1 – ENTER THE VOID, LET ME IN, MOTHER’S DAY

Day one of Fantastic Fest 2010 began with a hiccup in the ticketing system and ended with milk and cookies. The 6th annual genre film festival in Austin, Texas began on Thursday and took a first timer like myself through an out of body experience with Gaspar Noe’s Enter The Void, to a remake of a modern classic with Matt Reeves’ Let Me In and finally home with a severely demented family in Darren Lynn Bousman’s Mother’s Day. First Domestic Trailer for ENTER THE VOID

Eight years have passed since Gaspar Noé’s Irreversible ruffled feathers with its controversially graphic rape scene.  The French filmmaker unleashed his feature-length follow-up Enter the Void at Cannes last year — where it earned both hyperbolic raves and critical drubbings — and it’s just now making its way to American shores thanks to IFC Films.  The arthouse studio has released the first domestic trailer online; you can check it out after the jump, but only if you promise not to operate heavy machinery for at least an hour.

2010 Sundance Film Festival Out-of-Competition Films: Spotlight

Yesterday we gave you a list of all the films playing in-competition at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.  We now have the list of the films playing out-of-competition and they’re divided up into four categories: Premieres, Next, Spotlight, and Park City at Midnight. Since combining these lists would be a lot to read for just one article, we’ve broken it up to make it easier on your eyes.  You’re welcome.

Films in the Spotlight category include Louis C.K.: Hilarious; Rodrigo Garcia’s Mother & Child starring Naomi Watts, Annette Benning, and Kerry Washington; the great-sounding documentary Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs. The New York Knicks; and Enter the Void, the new film from Gaspar Noé (Irreversible).  Films in the Park City at Midnight category include HIGH School starring Adrien Brody; and Buried starring Ryan Reynolds.
