Screen Gems has released the first full trailer for director Kimberly Peirce’s (Boys Don’t Cry) upcoming remake Carrie. Based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King, the film revolves around a young girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) who discovers she has telekinetic powers and who is abused at home by her ultra-religious mother (Julianne Moore) and tormented at school by her peers. This full trailer gives us a much better idea of what Peirce's vision for the story looks like (it's almost too revealing), and it's clear that this Carrie is going to be quite intense. There's a bit of a superhero bent to the scenes in which Carrie is discovering her powers, and Peirce doesn't look to be holding back when it comes to the more violent aspects of the story. The highlight, though, is the scenes between Moretz and Moore, which promise to be sufficiently disturbing. Matching the quality of Brian De Palma's masterful 1976 adaptation is a tall order, but hopefully Peirce brings an intriguing angle to her iteration of the King classic.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The film also stars Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Ansel Elgort, Alex Russell, and Gabriella Wilde. Carrie opens on October 18th.

After an extensive casting search, the leads have been set for director Shana Feste’s (Country Strong) remake of the 1981 film Endless Love. Variety reports that Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike) and Gabriella Wilde (The Three Musketeers) will star in the pic, which centers on a passionate relationship between two teenagers. Franco Zeffirelli’s original film starred Brooke Shields and Martin Hewitt and was based on the novel of the same name by Scott Spencer, but it’s unknown how closely Feste’s take will follow the plot of either of those iterations. Feste rewrote the script originally penned by Josh Safran, and Scott Stuber (Ted, Love and Other Drugs) is producing.

Pettyfer and Wilde were cast after a number of screen tests, with Brenton Thwaites, Sarah Bolger, and Olivia Cooke reportedly in the running as well. Pettyfer was last seen in 2012’s Magic Mike and also starred in I Am Number Four and In Time, while Wilde will next be seen as Sue Snell later this year in the Carrie remake opposite Chloe Moretz.

Just after Cate Blanchett was reported as being in negotiations to play the evil step-mother in Disney's Untitled Cinderella Story, we now have a trio of international actresses being eyed for the lead role. The contenders for the coveted glass slipper are the Irish-born Saoirse Ronan (Hanna), Britain's Gabriella Wilde (The Three Musketeers) and Swedish Alicia Vikander (A Royal Affair). Originally pitched by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada), Disney picked up the project for a substantial sum in 2010. Chris Weitz (About a Boy) wrote the script and Simon Kinberg (X-Men) will produce. Hit the jump for more.

Variety reports that Ronan, Wilde and Vikander are all scheduled to test for director Mark Romanek's Untitled Cinderella Story. After Disney's Alice in Wonderland has grossed over $1 billion worldwide, the studio was quick to set more of their fairy tale properties in motion. They weren't the only ones, as Universal also has a Cinderella project in the works, as the property is now public domain.

The most recognizable of the candidates, Ronan has had consistent offers since her performance in 2007's Atonement. She could make the jump to full-fledged fandom when she next stars in The Host, written and directed by Andrew Niccol (In Time) and based on the sci-fi book by Twilight author, Stephenie Meyer. However, Ronan's 2013 schedule already boasts a lead role in Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel and is attached to star in the historical drama, Mary Queen of Scots for Working Title.

Wilde has a pair of pictures set to debut in 2013: the Kimberley Peirce-directed ...

The first trailer for director Kimberly Peirce’s remake of Carrie has been released and it's a doozy! The ending of the original Brian De Palma picture is famous in its own right, not to mention everyone who has read the Stephen King novel on which the films are based. But clearly Peirce knew that the stakes had been raised. As a disembodied voice sings over scenes of devastation, we hear bits of dialogue from the film, the speakers referring to the source of the destruction just as the camera inexorably races toward it. When we see her, we realize, this ain't your Mama's Carrie.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The film stars Chloe Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Alex Russell, Portia Doubleday, Ansel Elgort, and Gabriella Wilde. Carrie opens on March 15th, 2013.

Click over to Yahoo! to watch in HD.

Here’s the synopsis for Carrie:
A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

Production has officially started in Toronto for Boys Don't Cry director Kimberly Peirce's remake of Stephen King's Carrie, starring Chloe Grace Moretz. Up until now, we've only been able to bring you casting news on the horror picture, which stars Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Gabriella Wilde and Ansel Elgort. The new press release provides a few more plot details, which leads us to believe they're sticking quite closely to the source material. I'm not 100% up to date on the differences between the novel and the 1976 Brian De Palma film, but Moretz recently stated that the new version will be closer to the book. Hit the jump for more plot details on Peirce's version of Carrie, along with a first look at Moretz in the title role.

Here's the updated synopsis from the Carrie press release:
The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday, Youth in Revolt), but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde, The Three Musketeers), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (newcomer Ansel Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes ...

The cast is really starting to shape up for Kimberley Peirce's (Boys Don't Cry) remake of the classic horror film, Carrie. The new adaptation of the Stephen King source novel already features Chloe Moretz in the title role with Julianne Moore playing Carrie's conservative and controlling mother. Now, it looks like one of Carrie's classmate tormenters are in the process of being cast, with Gabriella Wilde (The Three Musketeers) having recently joined. Judy Greer (13 Going on 30) is reportedly in talks to play the pivotal role of the girls' gym teacher. It's not known yet whether the Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Big Love) adaptation will follow Brian De Palma's original to the letter or if some artistic license will be taken. Hit the jump for more info on the Carrie casting news. [Update: We've received word that Ivana Baquero is no longer in consideration for the role. Also, no casting decisions have yet been made for the role of the gym teacher.]

Bloody Disgusting reported on both the news of Baquero's addition as well as that of Wilde and Greer. Baquero, best known for her role in Guillermo Del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth, is reported to be considered the frontrunner to play teen tormentor, Chris. If the character names and roles are being carried over from the original, expect "Chris" to be one of the cruelest of Carrie's classmates and the catalyst for the ultimate climax of the film. Wilde, on the other hand, is reported to star as "Sue." Again, if ...

More casting news for you today. Here it is at a glance:

Richard Dreyfuss has joined the indie pic, Squatters, along with Lolita Davidovich, Nancy Travis, Evan Ross, Luke Grimes and Andrew Howard.
Helena Bonham Carter and Kathy Bates have joined Amelie director, Jean-Pierre Jeunet's The Young and Prodigious Spivet.
Max Greenfield of Fox's New Girl has joined the Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler comedy, They Came Together, directed by David Wain.

Hit the jump for more.

Variety reports that Dreyfuss and the ensemble cast are set for Squatters, an indie film directed by Martin Weisz (The Hills Have Eyes II) from a script by Justin Shilton. The pic follows a homeless couple from Venice Beach who move into a mansion in the Pacific Palisades, only to have the homeowners complicate matters when they return from vacation early. Squatters also stars Thomas Dekker and Gabriella Wilde.

The Playlist reports that Carter and Bates are set to join The Young and Prodigious Spivet, formerly titled The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet. In taking another stab at an English-language film (the first happened to be Alien: Resurrection ), Jeunet will adapt Reif Larson’s debut novel that “tells the story of a 12-year-old cartographer’s cross-country adventure from Montana to the Smithsonian Museum. Project fits into Jeunet’s body of work as it explores the imaginative mind of a child, mixing realism and fantasy.” Kyle Catlett has been cast in the starring role with Callum Keith Rennie (Memento) playing his father. Amelie screenwriter Guillaume Laurent ...

Okay, okay...I'll be there in a second...

With director Paul W.S. Anderson’s The Three Musketeers opening October 21, Summit Entertainment held a big press junket in London and I got the chance to head across the pond to interview the cast. Based on Alexandre Dumas’ classic story, The Three Musketeers stars Logan Lerman, Luke Evans, Ray Stevenson, Milla Jovovich, Orlando Bloom, Christoph Waltz, Matthew Macfayden, Gabriella Wilde and Mads Mikkelsen. In the reboot, “the hot-headed young D’Artagnan (Lerman) joins forces with three rogue Musketeers (MacFadyen, Evans and Stevenson). They must stop the evil Richlieu (Waltz) and face off with Buckingham (Bloom) and the treacherous Milady (Jovovich).” For more on the film, here’s eight clips.

During my interview with Lerman and Wilde, they talked about how they got involved in the project, the training, and the amazing real world locations they got to use. In addition, they told me about a great prank they did to a fellow cast member, what's their karaoke song and the last video game they played, and I asked Lerman what's up with the Percy Jackson sequel. Hit the jump to watch.

With director Paul W.S. Anderson’s The Three Musketeers opening October 21, Summit Entertainment has provided us with eight clips from the reboot of Alexandre Dumas’ classic story. The film stars Logan Lerman, Luke Evans, Ray Stevenson, Milla Jovovich, Orlando Bloom, Christoph Waltz, Matthew Macfayden and Mads Mikkelsen. In the reboot, "the hot-headed young D’Artagnan (Lerman) joins forces with three rogue Musketeers (MacFadyen, Evans and Stevenson). They must stop the evil Richlieu (Waltz) and face off with Buckingham (Bloom) and the treacherous Milady (Jovovich)." And unlike many films that have been post converted into a 3D release, the Musketeers was shot in 3D. Hit the jump to watch the clips.

The first trailer for The Three Musketeers has gone online and it is a doozy. This is The Three Musketeers as only director Paul W.S. Anderson could make it. And that way is incredibly stupid. While I won't hold up the 1993 version as a piece of brilliant modern cinema, it at least felt like a good, old-fashioned adventure movie that wasn't embarrassed by its source material. Watching the trailer for this new version try so hard to be bad-ass and cool just makes me sad. I half-expected one of the characters to turn directly to the camera and shout, "Classic literature, motherfucker!" and then tossing a 3D book into the audience and the book explodes. I suppose having one of the characters solemnly utter a line like "Only we can prevent the coming apocalypse," will have to do.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film stars Logan Lerman, Milla Jovovich, Matthew Macfadyen, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans, Mads Mikkelson, Gabriella Wilde, Juno Temple, Orlando Bloom, and Christoph Waltz. The Three Musketeers opens in 3D on October 14th.
