Opening this weekend is the third film in the Men in Black franchise.  Barry Sonnenfeld returns as director and the story finds Will Smith’s Agent J travelling back in time to save Tommy Lee Jones’ Agent K.  In addition to Bill Hader as Andy Warhol, Josh Brolin plays a younger version of Jones’ character and does an incredible job.  You’ll absolutely think you’re watching Jones as a young man.  Men in Black 3 also stars Jemaine Clement, Alice Eve, and Emma Thompson.  In addition, make-up effects artist Rick Baker returns to the franchise and you can see some of his creature work here.  For more on the film, here’s all our previous coverage.

Last week I got to speak with most of the cast and every day this week I’ll be posting a new interview.  Yesterday was Tommy Lee Jones and today I’ve got Will Smith.  During the interview we talked about when he knew they could make another Men in Black, the impact Star Wars had on him as a kid, how many takes he likes to do, and more.  In addition, we talked about future projects like M. Night Shyamalan‘s After Earth, and I tried to get updates on Independence Day 2, Bad Boys 3, I Am Legend 2 and Hancock 2.   Hit the jump to watch.

As if adapting a movie based on a board game isn’t difficult enough, Peter Berg’s adaptation of Battleship ran into serious rough waters* when it was revealed that the antagonist of the movie would be aliens.  Aliens vs. Battleships.  Wisely, Berg and Universal realized that the only way to combat such a negative reaction so far in advance of the film’s release was to open the floor to online journalists and withhold as little as possible.  And after reading the coverage, especially from CHUD.com and Latino Review, Berg has washed away some serious doubts.   He describes his plans for the aliens, how he plans to tell the story, the characters, as well as throwing in some bonus, non-Battleship-related news relating to Hancock 2 and a possible sequel to The Rundown.   Hit the jump to become a believer in Battleship.

If you have ever wondered why directors attach themselves to eight projects at the same time, the reason is you never know which project will get the financing and also land a big name star.  Also, you never know if another project will start getting more attractive.  Whatever the reason, it seems director Peter Berg has officially dropped out of the remake/reboot of “Dune”.  This probably means Berg’s next project will be “Battleship” at Universal. More after the jump:

Jason Bateman and Kirsten Bell Couples Retreat image.jpg

As most of you are aware, opening tomorrow is director Peter Billingsly’s “Couples Retreat”. The film was written by Jon Favreau, Vince Vaughn & Dana Fox and it’s about four couples that go away to a tropical resort to try and work out their marital problems and have some fun. Along for the ride are Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Malin Akerman, Kristin Davis, Kristen Bell and Faizon Love. Anyhow, Universal recently held an international press day and our partners at Omelete asked me to cover it. So thanks to them, after the jump you can watch my interview with Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell. As you might imagine when dealing with these two, the interview was a lot of fun and they were great together. I think you’ll like it.
