We had the opportunity to speak with actor Doug Jones at the 37th annual Saturn Awards. A mainstay in director Guillermo del Toro’s films, Jones is best known for his work playing non-human characters, usually in heavy makeup. He took on, with great success, the character of Abe Sapien in the Hellboy films and was poisitively terrifying as the Pale Man in Pan’s Labyrinth. During the interview, he spoke a bit about a third Hellboy film, his relationship with del Toro, and more.

For the past few days at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Geoff Boucher of The Los Angeles Times hosted the second annual Hero Complex Film Festival. In attendance were Warren Beatty for Dick Tracy, director Nicholas Meyer for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, writers/producers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof for Star Trek (2009), Richard Donner for Superman and Superman II (with an appearance by Geoff Johns), Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. (who was a surprise guest) for Iron Man and Iron Man 2. Of course they both talked a bit about Iron Man 3, The Avengers and Magic Kingdom.
In addition to the previously announced guests, Captain America: The First Avenger screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely premiered the new trailer and talked about the movie, and Mike Mignola talked about going back to Hellboy. For more on the Festival, hit the jump.
Update: Added some video of Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr.

Visionary filmmaker Guillermo del Toro was a big draw at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. There to talk about the remake of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, which he co-wrote and produced with Troy Nixey as the director, he explained the importance of producing the work of first-time filmmakers and why he enjoys learning from their unique visions.
He also spoke about his thoughts on 3-D, why he’s interested in making a new version of The Haunted Mansion, his desire to bring his own version of Frankenstein to the big screen and how he’d love to do another Hellboy film. Check out what he had to say after the jump:
And if you missed our previous coverage on Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, here’s our thoughts on the panel at Comic-Con and here’s our exclusive interview with director Troy Nixey.

The other night I attended the 2009 Saturn Awards. Since I interviewed over twenty people, it’s taken some time to edit all the video. Thankfully, today I made a lot of headway, so here’s the start of a big block of video interviews. Look for a lot more tomorrow. So up first…”Hellboy” creator Mike Mignola
During my short conversation with Mike, we talked about what he’s been up to recently and what’s going on in the world of “Hellboy”. He also told me he was recently in New Zealand doing a bit of work on “The Hobbit” and we discussed Comic-Con. Watch the interview after the jump:
