Scott Pilgrim vs. The World may be inundating folks with marketing right now, but at least Universal has the courtesy to be super-creative about it.  After setting the high-score at Comic-Con, the studio has now released an “i-Trailer” for the movie.  It’s an interactive trailer and it’s done with the same care you would see done on a DVD or Blu-ray (Well, a good DVD or Blu-ray–like the ones for Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz).  As you watch the trailer, you can click for more facts and behind-the-scenes featurettes, “earn achievements and points”, and basically learn a lot of cool stuff about the making of the movie.  I don’t know if this i-Trailer is the beginning of a trend, but it should be.  If people are interested in your movie, then why not give them an opportunity to find out more about the production?  Of course, I don’t think it would be appropriate for every movie.  An i-Trailer for Precious probably wouldn’t be the best idea.
