Did you like those seven new images from The Dark Knight Rises we ran yesterday?  Or how about those two TV spots?  Maybe you even enjoyed that editorial I did about what the future holds for the Batman franchise?  Even if you dug all that stuff, we know that TDKR Beast is never sated, so we have more images from Christopher Nolan‘s highly-anticipated superhero flick.

Hit the jump to check out the images.  The film stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, and Joseph Gordon-LevittThe Dark Knight Rises opens July 20th, so I’d expect at least 227 more images between then and now.

First Clip and TV Spot from TOTAL RECALL; Plus a New Image Featuring Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale

The first clip and TV spot for director Len Wiseman’s remake of Total Recall have landed online.  The clip should be familiar to fans of the 1990 Total Recall starring Arnold Scharzenegger, as it features Colin Farrell’s character coming home to his “wife” played by Kate Beckinsale after some unknown assailants tried to capture him.  A fight ensues and, needless to say, Beckinsale’s iteration of Lori appears to be much more lethal (and bendy) than Sharon Stone’s.  We’ve also got the first TV spot for the film, which does a nice job of setting up the plot for those unfamiliar with the material.  Though I’m still unsure about the pic storywise, the visuals on display in the clip and TV spot promise some intense sci-fi action as well as lens flares that would make J.J. Abrams proud.

Hit the jump to check out the clip, TV spot, and a new image.  The film also stars Jessica Biel, John Cho, Bill Nighy, and Bryan CranstonTotal Recall opens on August 3rd.

Just recently we got a tease of the third season of The Walking Dead which is currently in production. The cast and crew talked about the darker and more ominous feel of the the AMC series, and also the new characters who will be coming our way in October. Now we finally have the first official photo of one of those characters who was shown in obscurity at the conclusion of last season. The first photo of Michonne, the bad-ass samurai sword wielding woman played by Danai Gurira (Treme), has arrived, and you can see it after the jump.

A new image from Baz Luhrmann‘s The Great Gatsby has gone online.  The image shows “flamboyant and suave Jewish money lender” Meyer Wolfsheim (Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan) sitting next to Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) and Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio).  However, don’t expect to see much of Wolfsheim in the picture.  “I play Meyer Wolfsheim for about a few seconds…,” Bachchan tells THR, “by the time you look down on your popcorn to pick another morsel, I’d be gone from the film…he, he…kinda short service… But with giants of Hollywood – Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire.”  Still, it’s not bad gig for someone who hosts the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? I never saw Regis Philbin in a potential awards-contender.

Warner Bros. has released new images from Gangster Squad.  The film is set in 1940s Los Angeles, and stars Sean Penn as real-life gangster Mickey Cohen, who became the target of special task force known as the “Gangster Squad”.  The impressive cast also includes Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Nick Nolte, Michael Peña, Anthony Mackie, and Giovanni Ribisi.  While I found the trailer a bit underwhelming, the premise and cast are keeping this film near the top of my most-anticipated list.

New images from The Dark Knight Rises have gone online.  Don’t expect anything revelatory, but I’m curious to know what’s caused that look of shock on Bane’s face.  Has Batman defeated part of Bane’s plan?  Is Bane looking at the Batwing for the first time?  Has Bane realized he just missed out on Taco Tuesdays?  We’ll have to wait and find out.

Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace Get Intimate in First Image from Brian De Palma’s PASSION

The first image from director Brian De Palma’s Passion has gone online, and stars Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace look to be getting quite close.  The film is a remake of the French thriller Love Crime and “tells the story of a deadly power struggle between two women in the dog-eat-dog world of international business.”  As is evident in this first image, the dog-eat-dog world of international business often includes making out with your colleagues/enemies.  The story centers on the relationship between a woman and her “innocent, lovely and easily exploited” protégé.  It’s not clear which roles the actresses play, but judging by the unease on display in this image, I’m inclined to believe that Rapace assumes the protégé role.

Needless to say, it certainly sounds like De Palma has crafted a sexually charged thriller with a pair of gutsy performances, so I’m eager to check it out.  Hit the jump to see the image along with a more detailed synopsis.  Passion will be shopped for distribution at the Cannes Film Festival later this month.

Though principal photography on the film has wrapped, Vin Diesel isn’t done sharing images from the sequel Riddick.  The actor is currently prepping to shoot Fast and Furious 6 this summer, but he took some time to post this new image to his Facebook page.  Last week Diesel revealed that the earliest possible release date for Riddick would be January 2013, but he added that the studio is very pleased with what it’s seeing and is already asking about further sequels.  Riddick serves as the follow-up to The Chronicles of Riddick and finds our anti-hero luring bounty-hungry mercenaries in order to escape from a planet filled with alien predators.

A new image from director Pete Travis’ reboot Dredd has gone online.  Karl Urban stars as the titular Judge Dredd in this redo of the comic book character that was infamously inhabited by Sylvester Stallone in 1995’s Judge Dredd.  This image highlights the character played by Lena Headey, who’s currently starring as the nefarious Cersei Lannister on HBO’s Game of Thrones.  Along with the image, we’ve also got some quotes from Headey about her character in Dredd and how she fits into the Judge Dredd universe.  Hit the jump for more.

Writer-director Edgar Wright took to Twitter this weekend to tease his long-awaited adaptation of Marvel’s Ant-Man.  Wright has been attached to the project for years, but took time for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and now he’s attached to direct Johnny Depp in The Night Stalker, and he’s working on the script for The World’s End with Simon Pegg.  However, Ant-Man still has a strong possibility of being Wright’s next picture.  Marvel Studios’ President of Production Kevin Feige says the project is “as close as it’s ever been”, and now Wright has posted an image on Twitter referencing the superhero.

Concept Art for David Croneneberg’s Unsuccessful Attempt to Make TOTAL RECALL

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: May 3rd, 2012 at 9:35 am

Before Paul Verhoeven cranked out Total Recall in 1990, producer Dino De Laurentiis approached David Cronenberg to direct the feature.  The project never came to fruition because Cronenberg’s vision never coincided with De Laurentiis’.  The two parted ways, Cronenberg went on to make The Fly, and Verhoeven made a movie where a woman has three boobs.  Wins all around.

But the question of “What If?” is always fascinating, and we’ve never had a chance to see what Cronenberg was planning until now.  Artist Ron Miller and his wife Judith Miller worked at De Laurentiis’ studio outside Rome, and the duo produced concept art and sculptures under the direction of production designer Pierluigi Basile (1982′s Conan the Barbarian).  Ron Miller has now released some of the designs he and his wife created along with some details on how Cronenberg planned to adapt the source material, Philip K. Dick‘s short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale”.  Hit the jump for more.

The new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man will go online later today, but before it does, Sony has released two new images of the film’s baddie, The Lizard (Rhys Ifans).  For non-geeks, here’s a little background on the character: Dr. Curt Connors is a one-armed scientist who tries to use science (nothing good ever came of that!) to regrow his lost limb.  The experiment goes horribly wrong, and Connors transforms into a horrible reptile monster.

Disney-Pixar has released two new images from Brave.  While the trailers have played up heroine Merida’s prowess with a bow, these images show she’s got nothing against swinging a sword.  Also, if you’ve been wondering the significance of the bear in this image, keep in mind that the original title for Brave was The Bear and the Bow.  I don’t know how the bear factors into the plot (the trailers haven’t given it away), but I look forward to finding out.

Two new images and set photo from Rian Johnson‘s Looper have gone online.  The futuristic thriller takes place in a world where time travel exists, but is only used on the black market. When the mob wants to kill someone, they send the target 30 years into the past where a contract killer (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) does the dirty work. Things are going smoothly until Gordon-Levitt’s future self (Bruce Willis) is sent into the past to be killed.  As a huge fan of Johnson’s previous films, Brick and The Brothers BloomLooper is easily one of my most-anticipated films of the year, and I’m happy to get a few more glances at the flick.
