Just yesterday we posted the very first TV spot for Oliver Stone’s upcoming crime drama Savages, and now a number of images and behind-the-scenes photos have gone online. The official images were taken using Instagram (naturally), but the behind-the-scenes photos are actually the more intriguing set. We see Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson doing prep work at a shooting range with Stone, Blake Lively with blood-soaked hands, and more. For those unaware, Kitsch and Johnson play two Laguna Beach marijuana kingpins who encounter a world of trouble when their shared girlfriend (Lively) is kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel.

Three new images from The Amazing Spider-Man have landed online, with one in particular that should prove intriguing for those itching for a new look at Rhys Ifans’s villain The Lizard. We get a nice shot of said villain’s face, as well as a nice look at some of the destruction that the monstrous character creates. I’m still unsure as to how the 100% CGI villain will come off in the finished film, but I’m greatly encouraged by Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone and the opening scene that kicked off the 4-minute “super preview” was aces.
Hit the jump to check out the images. The film also stars Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D on July 3rd.

For those of you who didn’t get your fill of Batman this week from a new theatrical poster and six character posters, seven new images from The Dark Knight Rises have now landed online. They give us a couple of really great close-up looks at Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman, as well as new images of Christian Bale’s titular Dark Knight, Tom Hardy’s Bane, and Mr. Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a new police officer character.
Hit the jump to check out the images. If you missed Matt’s editorial in which he offers his prediction of how The Dark Knight Rises ends and where the Batman franchise can go from there, click here to give it a read. The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20th.

Earlier today we got our first look at a crazy Matthew Fox in the James Patterson adaptation Alex Cross, but now we’ve got some images of Fox being somewhat normal-looking in director Peter Webber’s (Girl with a Pearl Earring) historical drama Emperor. The film takes place during the days following the Japanese surrender at the end of World War II and stars Tommy Lee Jones as General Douglas MacArthur, the de facto ruler of Japan as Supreme Commander of the occupying forces. Fox plays a leading Japanese expert on the staff of MacArthur who is tasked with deciding whether or not Emperor Hirohito should be tried and hanged as a war criminal
These first images and sales posters aren’t anything mind blowing, but it’s pretty cool to see Jones sporting McArthur’s ginormous pipe. Hit the jump to take a look.

The first images of Tyler Perry not wearing a dress in the James Patterson adaptation Alex Cross have gone online. Directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious) the film is based on Patterson’s book I, Alex Cross, and Perry stars as the titular detective who was previously played by Morgan Freeman in the Patterson adaptations Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider. More interesting, though, are the first images of Matthew Fox as the film’s villain. He looks absolutely insane and ripped out of his mind. I literally stared at one image for 10 seconds before I realized it was Fox who was putting someone in a Hulk-ed out choke hold. It’s honestly kind of disturbing.
Anyway, hit the jump to check out the images, which also feature Edward Burns as Perry’s partner. Alex Cross opens on October 26th.

Liam Neeson’s career path is an interesting one. He first broke out with dramatic roles in films like The Mission, Les Miserables, and Schindler’s List, but now approaching the age of 60, Neeson has become the go-to actor when you need a badass lead. He’ll be seen taking names and such later this year in director Olivier Megaton‘s (Colombiana) sequel Taken 2, and the first images from the film have landed online along with a few quotes from the actor himself. Naturally the images show Neeson as a guy you do not want to mess with, especially if you want to keep your neck from being snapped in half.

The first images from the sex addict dramedy Thanks for Sharing have gone online. The film marks the directorial debut of The Kids Are All Right co-writer Stuart Blumberg and features an all-star cast in this story of three sex addicts struggling to function in normal society. Mark Ruffalo plays an addict who’s trying to strike up a relationship with a woman who has sworn off dating other addicts (Gwyneth Paltrow), Tim Robbins plays a man married to his high school sweetheart who actually becomes addicted to his 12-step recovery program, and Book of Mormon star Josh Gad plays a young man whose addiction is so bad that he hides a camera in his shoe in order to film up women’s skirts.
The film certainly looks much lighter than that other sex addict movie from last year, Shame, and I’m a big fan of the ensemble cast. Hopefully we see a trailer soon. The film also stars Joely Richardson, Patrick Fugit, and Alecia Moore aka Pink. [Update: Apparently these images were not approved for release and we've been asked to take them down. We'll have official stills from the film up once they're available.]

We’ve got a couple of set photos to share this morning. First up is Scarlett Johansson in Hitchcock. Last month we got our first look at Anthony Hopkins in his full, uncanny makeup as legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock for the film. Directed by Sacha Gervasi, the pic follows Hitchcock through the troubled production of Psycho, and we now have our first look at Johansson as the film’s “star” Janet Leigh. It’s not the best image, but Johansson does certainly look the part. This project is incredibly high on my most anticipated list, especially with a stacked cast that includes Helen Mirren, Jessica Biel, Toni Collette, Danny Huston and more.
Additionally, we’ve got our first images of Ben Stiller and a fake beareded-Adam Scott fighting over a Stretch Armstrong doll for some reason in the remake of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Stiller is directing the project, which also stars Kristin Wiig, Shirley MacLaine, and Patton Oswalt. Hit the jump to check out the images.

We shared the first image from director Brian De Palma’s erotic thriller Passion last week, and it was obvious from the “Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace kiss” photo that De Palma had something decidedly different up his sleeve. Now a few new images and the first poster from the film have gone online, and the “erotic thriller” moniker definitely seems appropriate. The story centers on the relationship between a woman and her “innocent, lovely and easily exploited” protégé. It also apparently involves McAdams wearing a creepy as hell mask and wielding a knife.
Hit the jump to check out the images. Passion will be shopped at the Cannes Film Festival, which kicks off this week.

A few new images from Live Free or Die Hard director Len Wiseman’s remake of Total Recall have gone online. I’m still a bit split on my opinion of this pic. I think the sci-fi world that Wiseman has built looks pretty cool, and I’m a big fan of Colin Farrell and Bryan Cranston as actors so their involvement is promising. However, the trailer didn’t exactly win me over. I understand that it’s tough to sell a movie in two minutes and there’s a lot of fun to be had in Philip K. Dick’s source material, so hopefully Wiseman will deliver a truly trippy sci-fi pic once we see the full film. These new images definitely promise that this Total Recall won’t be lacking in the action or gunplay departments, and I’m intrigued to see Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale’s takes on Melina and Lori, respectively.
Hit the jump to check out the images. The film also stars Bill Nighy, John Cho, and Ethan Hawke. Total Recall opens on August 3rd.

The first images from the remake of the 1980 slasher pic Maniac have gone online. Elijah Wood stars as the owner of a mannequin store (that’s not creepy at all) who spends his spare time stalking prey on the internet and planning out his kills. The character suffers hallucinations that take him back to when his mother abused him, and he gains a sense of revenge against his mother each time he kills a victim. Franck Khalfoun (P2) directs this redo, and the film is actually slated to premiere as part of the Midnight lineup at next week’s Cannes Film Festival. These first images show an appropriately bloody Wood, female lead Nora Arnezeder, and a brain damaged mannequin.

Director Harmony Korine has been hard at work on his spring break movie appropriately titled Spring Breakers, and we’ve been bringing you plenty of images of the bikini-clad cast over the past few weeks. The film stars Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine as four college girls who rob a fast food joint in order to pay for their spring break. They get busted, but a drug dealer played by James Franco bails them out and convinces them to kill his nemesis. It’s fairly ridiculous premise, but what more could we expect from the director of Trash Humpers?
Not only do these images show off Franco’s latest character creation in all his cornrowed glory, but we also get a, um, nice official image of the core actresses in their fabric-light costumes. Hit the jump to check out the images. If you missed any of the other bikini-filled images we posted previously, click here and here.

Yesterday we brought you a new image of Game of Thrones star Lena Headey as Ma-Ma in director Pete Travis’ reboot Dredd, along with a few quotes from the actress regarding her character. Now a few more images from the film have surfaced online, giving us another look at Karl Urban as the titular Judge Dredd as well as co-stars Olivia Thirlby, Langly Kirkwood, and Deobia Oparei. I still really have no idea what to expect from this film, so hopefully a trailer is on the way soon. I like Urban and Headey quite a bit, and Olivia Thirlby is a promising prospect as Dredd’s trusty sidekick. Moreover, the pic has been described as a major departure from the Sylvester Stallone-fronted 1995 adaptation, so at least we’re in for something decidedly different.
Hit the jump to check out the images. Dredd opens in 3D on September 21st.

With each new trailer, clip, or image from David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, I’ve become more intrigued and eager to check the film out. We’ve seen a few trailers teasing the seriously trippy and surreal world that Cronenberg has created, and I’m interested to see Pattinson shine in a role that doesn’t ask him to brood for 120 minutes. For those unfamiliar with the film, Pattinson plays a successful banker whose entire life unravels over the course of a single day. These images give us more looks at Pattinson’s character, as well as supporting players Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Paul Giamatti and Kevin Durand.
Hit the jump to check out the images. Cosmopolis will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, which runs from May 16 – 25th.
