An international trailer for Kick-Ass 2 has been released. The red-band trailer focused on the plot of the film where we saw heroes banding together against the threat of The Motherfucker (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). The international trailer mostly ignores all that (there’s no Motherfucker to be found), and shines a light directly on Hit-Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz). That’s not too surprising when you consider she was the most popular character in the first film, and Moretz looks like she’s even better this time around.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. There’s also a new character poster for Jim Carrey‘s superhero, Colonel Stars and Stripes. The movie co-stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clark Duke, Donald Faison, John Leguizamo, and Olga Kurkulina. Kick-Ass 2 opens August 16th.

A trailer has been released for Steven Knight‘s Hummingbird. The film stars Jason Statham as “Joey, ex-special forces soldier who winds up homeless after going on the run from a court marshal. Joey then steals another man’s identity and befriends a nun (Agata Buzek).” It’s become increasingly easy to write off Statham’s movies because he basically plays the same character: The Guy You Don’t Hunt or Betray or Else He’ll Kick Your Ass. However, this trailer for Hummingbird looks surprisingly dramatic, and while I can’t help but giggle at Statham’s long-hair wig, Knight’s film could be a more than welcome change of pace for the actor.

A new international trailer for Hitchcock has gone online. While this trailer centers on the drama revolving around the making of Hitchcock’s Psycho, that’s not really the thrust of the movie. It’s more of a backdrop to the film’s central (and less interesting) conflict between Hitchcock (Anthony Hopkins) and wife/partner Alma Reville (Helen Mirren). This trailer shows only a hint of the marital tension between the two characters, which serves as the basis for most of the movie. Going into Hitchcock thinking you’re about to see a riveting tale about the making of Psycho is a recipe for disappointment.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film also stars Scarlett Johansson, Danny Huston, Toni Collette, Jessica Biel, Michael Stuhlbarg, James D’Arcy, Michael Wincott, Richard Portnow, and Kurtwood Smith. Hitchcock opens in limited release on November 23rd.

As we close in on Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained (only two months away!), another trailer has popped up online. While the latest domestic trailer was pretty good, this new international trailer is absolutely terrific. It provides our best look at the film yet with plenty of new footage (some could argue a little too much), plot details, and character motivations. And all of it looks amazing. Also, it’s pretty easy to win me over when your spaghetti western-style movie leads off its trailer with the theme from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film stars Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, M.C. Gainey, Walton Goggins, Garrett Dillahunt, Dennis Christopher, Gerald McRaney, Laura Cayouette, Don Johnson, Tom Savini, and Samuel L. Jackson. Django Unchained opens December 25th.

A new international trailer for Killing Them Softly has been released. The film stars Brad Pitt as a mob enforcer called in to investigate the robbery of a high-stakes card game. The domestic trailer showed us some of the other characters and plot points, but this international trailer is short, to the point, and it works.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film also stars Richard Jenkins, James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta, Scoot McNairy, and Ben Mendelsohn. Killing Them Softly opens November 30th.

An international trailer for Park Chan-wook‘s Stoker has gone online. Like the first trailer that debuted last week, this one is dark, creepy, unsettling, and absolutely fascinating. The film centers on a young girl (Mia Wasikowska) who encounters her mysterious uncle (Matthew Goode) while mourning the death of her father (Dermot Mulroney). The plot seems to have a mix of Lolita and The Professional, although it’s not paid assassinations as much as serial killing (money makes all the difference!). There are also some strange layers going on between the girl and her mother (Nicole Kidman). Even though I’ve now seen two trailers for the movie, I still have no idea what to expect, and that makes me very excited to see it.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film also stars Jacki Weaver, Lucas Till, and Alden Ehrenreich. Stoker opens on March 1st, 2013.

Disney has released a new international trailer for the upcoming animated film Wreck-It-Ralph. John C. Reilly voices the eponymous character, a plays a bad guy in the video game “Fix-It Felix”, who leaves the game so he can be the hero for once. However, his actions end up causing chaos throughout the arcade world. While other trailers and posters have been playing up the gaming references and cameos, this international trailer relies mostly on showing the story, and even reveals a few new plot points. I wouldn’t say it necessarily spoils anything, but this might be the time the start unplugging from trailers and TV spots.
If you still want to see a bit more of the movie, you can check out the trailer after the jump. The film also features the voices of Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, and Jane Lynch. Wreck-It-Ralph opens in 3D on November 2nd.

A new international trailer for Django Unchained has gone online. Quentin Tarantino‘s latest film stars Jamie Foxx as the titular Django, an escaped slave who goes to rescue his wife (Kerry Washington) from sadistic plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio) by teaming up with bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz). The new international trailer has a few bits of new footage including Candie drumming his fingers on a skull. It’s yet another hint at how much scenery DiCaprio is willing the chew, and I can’t wait to see him devour his scenes.
Hit the jump to check out the new international trailer. The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, M.C. Gainey, Walton Goggins, Garrett Dillahunt, Dennis Christopher, Gerald McRaney, Laura Cayouette, Don Johnson, and Tom Savini. Django Unchained opens on December 25th.

A new international trailer for Rian Johnson‘s Looper has gone online. The film takes place in a future where time travel exists, but it’s only used on the black market. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays a “Looper”, a hitman who is contracted to kill people that are sent back in time, and then disposes of the bodies so the victim technically no longer exists. Things go awry when his future self (Bruce Willis) is sent back in time as an assignment and then escapes. This new trailer is heavier on the action, which is the easiest element to sell, and it looks like Johnson has done a terrific job with it.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Looper will open this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, and open nationwide on September 21st.

A full trailer for Skyfall has been released, and it looks like Bond is back in a big way. Anyone who was disappointed by Quantum of Solace (about 90% of the population, myself included), will likely be back on board with director Sam Mendes‘ take on the franchise. The upcoming flick looks like it has everything audiences want from a James Bond picture: style, big set pieces, sex, and more style. Mendes looks like he knows what sets Bond apart from other action stars and taken full advantage of it. If you’ve been let down by the majority of this summer’s action movies, there may be an excellent one this November.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film stars The film stars Daniel Craig, Bérénice Marlohe, Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCroy, Albert Finney, Ralph Fiennes, and Javier Bardem. Skyfall opens November 9th. [Update: We have now added the equally bad-ass international trailer, which contains footage that's not in the new domestic trailer; specifically, it has a little bit more of Javier Bardem's terrifying villain]

A short international trailer for Taken 2 has gone online. The new trailer features some new footage, along with a brief moment that surprised me. The previous trailer led me to believe that only Bryan Mills’ (Liam Neeson) wife (Famke Janssen) was going to be taken. But in the new trailer, Mills says to his daughter (Maggie Grace), “Your mother and I are going to be taken,” and then we see a black bag getting put over his head. Presumably, Mills doesn’t stay taken for too long because he has a very special set of skills.

While the new domestic trailer for Looper will go online tomorrow, the new international version has gone online today. I’m not sure how different the two trailers will be, but I like what I’m seeing. For those unfamiliar with the film, it takes place in a world where time travel exists, but is only used on the black market. When the mob wants to kill someone, they send the target 30 years into the past where a contract killer (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) does the dirty work. Things are going smoothly until Gordon-Levitt’s future self (Bruce Willis) is sent into the past to be killed. This new trailer introduces a violent character we haven’t seen before known as the “Rainmaker”, who’s played by the brilliant Garret Dillahunt (Deadwood). Writer-director Rian Johnson looks like he’s cooked up an intense sci-fi action flick, and the movie remains one of my most-anticipated of the year.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Looper opens September 28th.

The first international trailer for Taken 2 has gone online. As the new trailer shows, Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) didn’t really think through the whole “going on a murderous rampage to save my daughter,”-thing and now the bad guys’ families want revenge. This time around, it’s Mills’ wife (Famke Janssen) who gets taken, so this gives license for Liam Neeson to play the badass yet again. I have absolutely no problem with that. I’m assuming the franchise can continue if future kidnapping victims include Mills’ cousin, gardener, paperboy, the guy he met at the supermarket that one time, and so forth. Finally, Taken 2 looks to continue the series’ message that foreign countries are the worst places affluent white people can go. Just visit Orlando, Florida. They have Disneyworld.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film also stars Maggie Grace and Rade Serbedzija. Taken 2 opens October 5th. [Update: We've added the international poster.]

It almost seemed like Fox had forgotten about Akiva Schaffer‘s comedy The Watch (it received the blandest poster of the year thus far), but with about a month to go until the film’s release, it looks like the marketing is beginning to ramp up. A new international trailer has gone online, and it’s got some good laughs throughout. The plot centers on a group of neighborhood watch guys (played by Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade) who stumble upon an alien invasion plot. Stiller and Vaughn seem to have settled into their standard personas (uptight guy and fast-talking guy, respectively), but I like seeing Hill as a little bit psycho, and it looks like British actor Ayoade (The IT Crowd) has a chance to steal the show in his big American debut.
Hit the jump to check out the international trailer. The film also stars Rosemarie DeWitt, Will Forte, and Billy Crudup. The Watch (formerly titled Neighborhood Watch) opens July 27th.

A NSFW international teaser trailer has gone online for David Cronenberg‘s Cosmopolis. The teaser provides the first look at the tone of the film, and more importantly, Robert Pattinson‘s performance in it. In Cosmopolis, Pattinson plays a newlywed billionaire who ends up losing his bride and his billions in a single day. Even when Pattinson isn’t doing Twilight, he’s hewed towards romantic dramas with Remember Me and Water for Elephants. However, as Twilight draws to a close, his upcoming films will perhaps provide him with the necessary escape velocity to get away from Edward Cullen. In Bel Ami, he plays a character who fucks his way up the social ladder of 1890s Paris, and in Cosmopolis, his character purposely shoots himself in the hand. I can take or leave Bel Ami, but Cosmopolis looks pretty great, and I’m eager to see Pattinson break free of his famous mopey vampire.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film, based on the novel by Don DeLillo, also stars Sarah Gadon, Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, and Mathieu Amalric. Cosmopolis will likely open sometime this year. [Update: We've added a new poster for the film after the jump.]
