Not only is visionary director Terrence Malick becoming prolific as of late, he’s putting together some extraordinary casts. FilmNation has announced that they will be handling international sales and distribution on two new films from the Tree of Life director. Lawless will star Ryan Gosling as the lead, with Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, and Haley Bennett rounding out the supporting cast. Then we’ve got Knight of Cups, which has Bale assuming the lead role with a supporting cast that includes Blanchett and Isabel Lucas (Immortals). Hit the jump for much more.

We’ve been provided with eight clips from The Fall director Tarsem Singh’s new film Immortals. The pic centers on Theseus (Henry Cavill), a mortal, who teams up with the Greek gods in order to defeat the power-hungry King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke). Instead of depicting the gods as ginormous otherworldly creatures, Singh has taken a different route and instead the gods take the form of chiseled immortal beings that don’t look dissimilar from humans.
The film also stars Freida Pinto, Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas, Joseph Morgan, Kellan Lutz, and Stephen Dorff. Immortals opens in 3D on November 11th and we’ll have exclusive interviews with the cast the week of release. Hit the jump to watch the clips.

Relativity has released new images from James McTeigue’s The Raven and Tarsem Singh’s Immortals. The Raven is a period thriller that has Edgar Allan Poe (John Cusack) teaming up with Detective Emmett Fields (Luke Evans) to stop a serial killer who’s using Poe’s work as inspiration. It’s an interesting premise and McTeigue still has my goodwill from V for Vendetta. As you can see from the image above, Fields will chase someone down but keep a firm grip on his top hat. Can’t afford to lose top hats. Speaking of hat-love, Singh continues his affection for ridiculous head-attire as seen by the first image of Athena (Isabel Lucas) in Immortals. The story is about the gods calling on Theseus (Henry Cavill) to help them defeat the power-hungry King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke). It looks less promising than The Raven.
Hit the jump to check out the images. The Raven opens March 9, 2012. Immortals opens in 3D on November 11th.

Relativity Media has released yet another trailer for Tarsem Singh’s Immortals and I’m starting to seriously doubt the film. I liked what I saw when the teaser trailer debuted at WonderCon, but every trailer looks the same. It’s the same footage again and again just in a different order. Also, the plot is that King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) wants to bring down the gods so the gods hire Theseus (Henry Cavill) to stop him. None of the trailers explain why the gods can’t do this themselves. It’s kind of an obvious question and no amount of speed-ramping can answer it.
Hit the jump to check out the new trailer. Immortals opens in 3D on November 11th.

A new trailer for director Tarsem Singh’s (The Fall) epic Immortals has been released. This one’s a bit more action-heavy than the first trailer that was released. The film looks decidedly 300-esque, but I’m hoping Singh brings something more to the table than slow motion fight scenes. He’s definitely proven his penchant for breathtaking visuals, and it’s a safe bet that Immortals will be no exception.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. Immortals stars Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, Isabel Lucas, Freida Pinto, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz, John Hurt, and Mickey Rourke. [Update: We have updated the article with a higher-quality version of the trailer.]

Relativity has released eight new character posters for director Tarsem Singh’s (The Cell) Immortals. Starring Henry Cavill, Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas, Kellan Lutz, Mickey Rourke, John Hurt, Stephen Dorff, and Freida Pinto, the film centers on a stonemason named Theseus (Cavill) as he attempts to keep the long lost Bow of Epirus out of the hands of the ruthless King Hyperion (Rourke). As for the sheets themselves, I think that character posters are a great way of introducing unknowing audiences to the individual personalities of characters they may not already be familiar with. As one of those unknowing audience members, I’m not sure I know more about the characters after seeing these promos.
Check the posters out for yourself after the jump. Immortals hits 3D theaters later this year on November 11th.

The trailer for Tarsem Singh’s Immortals has officially gone online. Now it’s in HD. It’s a visually impressive film so you’ll want to check it out the trailer if you haven’t already (or only saw the low-quality version that was posted yesterday).

The trailer for Tarsem Singh’s Immortals has made its way online but in the worst way possible. I caught the trailer at WonderCon and was impressed by its lush and dazzling visuals. So what’s the worst way everyone else could get their first look at it? By premiering it on E! News with the anchorwoman talking over the footage and then having that presentation taped off a television and uploaded to YouTube. Relativity (the studio behind the film) needs to put the HD version online ASAP.
Hit the jump to check out the less-than-impressive version of the trailer. Obviously we’ll update the story when a higher-quality version makes its way online. Immortals stars Henry Cavill, Freida Pinto, Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas, Kellan Lutz, and Mickey Rourke. The film opens in 3D on November 11th.
[Update: We've updated the article with a better quality version of the video. Also, this trailer isn't exactly like the one that was shown at WonderCon, but there's a lot of overlap in the footage]

At WonderCon this weekend, Relativity Media premiered an awesome looking teaser trailer for director Tarsem Singh’s (The Fall) Immortals. In the film, Henry Cavill plays Theseus, a mortal chosen by Zeus (Luke Evans) to bring down the power-hungry King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke). The film also stars Isabel Lucas, Frida Pinto, Kellan Lutz, Stephen Dorff, and John Hurt. You can read more about the WonderCon presentation here and you can also watch our video interviews with Cavill & Evans and producer Mark Canton.
While I was happy to be able to interview Cavill as he’ll be playing Superman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, I was just as excited to meet and talk with Tarsem Singh. All too often people use the term visionary. It’s like just because someone got a cool shot in their last film they’re a visionary director. But if you saw either The Cell or The Fall, you know that Tarsem is the real deal. And after getting to see the teaser for Immortals, the world is about to discover this amazing talent.
During the extended interview, Tarsem and Lucas talked about WonderCon, filming in Montreal, Lucas describes her approach to playing Athena, how will Immortals raise the bar for moviegoers who think they’ve seen it all in terms of action, the 3D, how the film draws the line between style and narrative, and I got an update on his next project The Brothers Grimm: Snow White. Hit the jump to watch.

Tarsem Singh’s Immortals doesn’t have brand-name recoginition like other titles make the rounds at WonderCon, but it doesn’t need to. Swords-and-sandals flicks can sell themselves and if it was good enough for antiquity, it should be good enough for us (in related story, please join my campaign to bring back triremes). Immortals is Singh’s spin on the genre and re-envisions gods like Zeus (Luke Evans) and Athena (Isabel Lucas) as young, beautiful, and in need of the help of the mortal Theseus (Henry Cavill) to bring down the power-hungry King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke).
We were shown the teaser trailer for the film which was followed by a Q&A with Singh, Cavill, Evans, Lucas, and producer Mark Canton. Hit the jump for my recap and thoughts on the Immortals presentation.

Relativity Media has released five new character posters for their upcoming sword and sandals flick Immortals. Directed by Tarsem Singh (The Fall), the film stars the new Superman Henry Cavill, as well as Mickey Rourke, Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Isabel Lucas (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), Stephen Dorff, and John Hurt.

WonderCon is less than a month away, and a map of the dealer floor has just been released. It looks like a majority of the high-profile usual suspects have large tables, including Marvel, DC, IDW, Capcom, Nintendo and HBO. We previously told you that the cast of Green Lantern will be making an appearance, and now it looks like footage from director Tarsem Singh’s (The Cell) new flick Immortals will get its worldwide debut at the convention in San Diego. In addition, the cast and filmmakers of Singh’s film will take part in a panel discussion, including Henry Cavill (aka the new Man of Steel), Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans) and Kellan Lutz (The Twilight Saga). Hit the jump to check out the map of the convention floor.

Immortals, the new film from The Fall director Tarsem Singh, has set its release date as the easy-to-remember November 11th (11/11/11). The Greek mythology action flick stars Henry Cavill as Theseus, who, with the help of the gods, must lead his men in battle against the Titans. The film also stars Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Isabel Lucas (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), Stephen Dorff, John Hurt, and Mickey Rourke.

An image of the cast from the upcoming remake of Red Dawn has found its way online. The film was in limbo due to MGM’s ongoing financial troubles, but now that the company has declared bankruptcy and begun restructuring, it’s possible the film will finally be released sometime this year. This image [via The Daily Blam] looks like it’s either a costume test or for promotional purposes, but I don’t think there will be a scene where the main characters gather to strike a pose and look directly into the camera.
For those who have never seen the original 1984 film, it centers on a group of teenagers that band together after America is invaded by the USSR. The remake of Red Dawn stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights), Josh Hutcherson (The Kids Are All Right), Josh Peck (The Wackness), Isabel Lucas (Daybreakers), Connor Cruise (Seven Pounds), Edwin Hodge (Take Me Home Tonight), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The first images from Tarsem’s greek gods film Immortals have come online along with a series of behind-the-scenes clips. The images are pretty sweet, especially the one of Mickey Rourke as the villainous King Hyperion. For those just tuning in, Immortals is “a mythological tale set in war-torn ancient Greece where the young warrior, Theseus (Henry Cavill), leads his men into battle with the immortal Greek Gods to defeat evil and the powerful elder gods the Titans in order to save mankind.” The film also stars Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Isabel Lucas (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), Stephen Dorff, and John Hurt.
There are also six behind-the-scenes featurettes available on iamrogue.com that you can check out.
