New posters have been released from The Lone Ranger, Red 2, Star Trek Into Darkness, and I, Frankenstein. Briefly, The Lone Ranger international poster has the Lone Ranger in danger of falling into Helena Bonham Carter‘s cleavage, the gang is all there in the Red 2 poster, the Enterprise is still seriously screwed in the latest poster for Star Trek Into Darkness, and then there’s the first poster for I, Frankenstein. It’s a “motion poster”, but it will be holographic when you see it at your local theater. It doesn’t have a close-up of Aaron Eckhart as the monster, but at a distance, he’s the most handsome iteration of the creature to date.
Hit the jump to check out the posters. The Lone Ranger opens on July 3rd. Red 2 opens July 19th. Star Trek Into Darkness opens in IMAX 3D on Wednesday and in 2D and 3D on Thursday. I, Frankenstein opens in 3D on January 24th. [Update: The Star Trek Into Darkness poster was not approved by the studio, and we have removed it at their request.]

Summit Entertainment has released a new trailer for director Dean Parisot’s (Galaxy Quest) action-comedy sequel Red 2. The spy follow-up pits ex-CIA operative Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) against Victoria (Helen Mirren) when MI6 greenlights his assassination as Interpol’s “Most Wanted.” This trailer introduces us to the film’s new characters, as Anthony Hopkins plays a living MacGuffin (similar to John Hurt‘s character in Crystal Skull) and Catherine Zeta-Jones plays an old flame of Willis’ character who joins the group to combat a common enemy. Byung Hun Lee appears to bring some freshness to the film’s action sequences, and the humorous tone is spot-on thanks to the sensibilities of Parisot. All in all, Red 2 looks to be quite the fun ride.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The film also stars Mary-Louise Parker and John Malkovich. Red 2 opens on July 19th.

A couple of new character posters have been released for director Dean Parisot’s (Galaxy Quest) Red 2, a much-anticipated sequel to an indulgently fun summer blockbuster franchise. The new posters showcase stars Bruce Willis and John Malkovich in all of their “retired” glory. The sequel finds Frank Moses (Willis) pitted against Victoria (Helen Mirren) when M16 gives the go ahead to his assassination by declaring him Interpol’s “most wanted.” All the while, Moses and his team work to track down a missing nuclear device. Mary-Louise Parker will return while Catherine Zeta Jones, Byung Hun, and Anthony Hopkins join the cast.
Although Red 2 looks indulgent (much like The Expendables franchise), we all can admit that we like to watch Willis blow stuff up and we enjoy seeing Malkovich, well, be himself. Hit the jump to check out the new posters and to read the full synopsis. Red 2 opens on July 19th.

It’s already been a busy season for pilot casting, and the biggest trend seems to be the number of movie actors who are taking roles on the small screen. The jury is out on what kind of a stage we are in with movies right now (the Sequel Era?) but we’re definitely in the Second Golden Age of TV, and it makes sense that these actors art looking to get in on it (of course, where that leaves TV actors is fodder for another day). Here are a couple of the latest ones to make the jump:
- John Malkovich is set to star in NBC pilot drama series Crossbones
- Christian Slater is looking to make his return to TV in the ABC pilot Influence
- Josh Lucas has been cast in the Michael Bay A&E drama pilot Occult
For more on these projects, hit the jump.

Summit Entertainment has unveiled a new poster for director Dean Parisot’s (Galaxy Quest) upcoming sequel Red 2. The spy follow-up pits ex-CIA operative Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) against Victoria (Helen Mirren) when MI6 greenlights his assassination as Interpol’s “Most Wanted.” Mary-Louise Parker and John Malkovich reprise their characters from the first film as they’re joined by a bevy of newcomers that includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung Hun Lee, and Anthony Hopkins. This poster asks onlookers to test their knowledge of the aforementioned actors’ backsides, as the assembled cast is shown facing the opposite direction and striking some rather intimidating poses.
Hit the jump to take a look at the new poster. Red 2 opens on August 2nd.

In order to keep the zombie genre from rotting, it needs fresh life. 28 Days Later did away with the “z-word” and turned zombification into a virus. Last year, ParaNorman took a compassionate view of the undead by seeing that they were just misunderstood albeit terrifying. Warm Bodies moves in the direction of the latter to the point where it’s straining to even be a zombie movie. Instead, Warm Bodies is more of a romance that embraces its reinvention of Romeo & Juliet, but with so much sweetness and charm, it’s hard to begrudge the lack of brain-eating or flesh-rotting.

From writer/director Jonathan Levine (50/50) comes Warm Bodies, the zombie romantic comedy starring Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class) and Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four). Today, five new clips and five new posters from the film have become available, including an interactive infographic on zombie anatomy with bits of footage embedded within it. While Warm Bodies is not my preferred take on zombies, it does seem to offer something different to the genre along with a lot of humor and heart. Also starring John Malkovich, Dave Franco, Analeigh Tipton and Rob Corddry, Warm Bodies opens February 1st. Hit the jump to watch the new clips and check out the new posters.

The retired and extremely dangerous gang from Red return in this new teaser trailer for Red 2. Directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest), the spy sequel pits ex-CIA operative Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) against Victoria (Helen Mirren) when MI6 greenlights his assassination as Interpol’s “Most Wanted.” Mary-Louise Parker and John Malkovich return in fine form, providing some of the funnier moments in the new trailer. Joining the sequel will be Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung Hun Lee and Anthony Hopkins. Red 2 opens August 2, 2013. Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer and poster for Red 2.

Summit Entertainment has released three clips and 13 minutes of B-roll for Jonathan Levine‘s rom-zom-com, Warm Bodies. The film centers on R (Nicholas Hoult), a zombie who falls in love with Julie (Teresa Palmer) after eating her boyfriend’s brains. I haven’t watched the clips or the footage since I want to go in having seen as little of the movie as possible. Warm Bodies is one of my most-anticipated movies of the next three months, and I want to be surprised. However, if you still need to be sold on the flick, then you might want to see the new material.
Hit the jump to check out the clips and the B-roll. The film also stars Rob Corddry and John Malkovich. Warm Bodies opens February 1st. Click on the corresponding links to read about my visit to the set and my interviews with Levine, Hoult, Palmer, Corddry, and producer Bruna Papandrea.

In October 2011, I was lucky enough to visit the set of Jonathan Levine‘s Warm Bodies. The film follows R (Nicholas Hoult), a zombie who falls in love with the non-zombie Julie (Teresa Palmer) after eating her boyfriend’s brains. Judging by the trailers, it looks like Levine has crafted a sweet, funny rom-zom-com.
In addition to getting zombified on the set, I got the chance to interview Palmer. We talked about the scene they were filming that day, why R doesn’t eat her, working with John Malkovich (who plays Julie’s father), her favorite zombie movie, the influence of Romeo and Juliet, playing against actors who have a restricted range of emotions since they’re playing zombies, and much more. Hit the jump to check out the interview. Warm Bodies opens February 1st.

Though we’ve seen set photos aplenty from the anticipated upcoming sequels The Hangover Part III and Red 2, the first official images from both films have now landed online. The images from the third and presumably final entry in the Hangover trilogy promise more madness, as we see an Abbey Road-ish pic of The Wolfpack (ie. Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha, and Bradley Cooper) set against the silhouette of Las Vegas. Though we’ll definitely see the group travel back to Vegas in the sequel, the city is “just one of their stops,” so we’re (hopefully) not in for yet another rehash of the first film.
As for the Red sequel, Galaxy Quest helmer Dean Parisot steps into the director’s chair this time around, and this first image gives us a look at Bruce Willis, Mary-Louise Parker, and John Malkovich striking the “cool guys don’t look at explosions” pose. Hit the jump to check out images from both films and for story details regarding The Hangover 3 from director Todd Phillips. The Hangover Part III opens on May 24, 2013, while Red 2 hits theaters on August 2, 2013.

A new trailer for director Jonathan Levine’s (50/50) zombie love story Warm Bodies has been released. The film stars Nicholas Hoult as a zombie named “R” who starts to act more human than zombie when he falls in love with Julie (Teresa Palmer). The film’s excellent first trailer played up the quirky love story angle, and this new trailer is a bit more action-oriented. Levine looks to have struck a nice balance between the film’s light-hearted “indie” sensibilities and the more visually arresting zombie apocalypse premise, and we see bits of promising new footage with this 60-second trailer.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The film also stars Rob Corddry, John Malkovich, Dave Franco, and Analeigh Tipton. Warm Bodies opens on February 1st, 2013.

Production is currently underway on the action-comedy sequel Red 2 in London (doubling for Moscow), and some new images from the set have surfaced. Galaxy Quest helmer Dean Parisot directs this time around, as the first film’s cast of Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary Louise-Parker, and Helen Mirren is joined by newcomers Catherine Zeta-Jones, Anthony Hopkins, and Byung-Hun. We previously saw some set photos that featured Zeta-Jones, but this new batch gives us our first look at Hopkins in character alongside Willis, Malkovich, and Louise-Parker.
Hit the jump to check out the set photos. The film also stars David Thewlis and Neal McDonough. Red 2 opens on August 2nd, 2013.

New set photos for James Mangold’s The Wolverine, Spike Lee’s Oldboy remake and Dean Parisot’s Red 2 have emerged today. From Wolvie, we don’t get more shots of star Hugh Jackman, but we get a glimpse of Silver Samurai and of the actor playing him (Will Yun Lee). There’s also a stuntman on hand to unleash the first look at Logan’s claws in action. The Oldboy images put star Josh Brolin front and center and shirtless for the most part. Red 2 shows off previous cast members Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and Mary-Louise Parker as well as new additions, Catherine Zeta-Jones and David Thewlis. Pay special attention to Malkovich’s insane attire (he’s fabulous).
The Wolverine bows on July 26th, 2013. Lee’s Oldboy, also starring Samuel L. Jackson and Elizabeth Olsen, opens sometime next year. Red 2 is slated for an August 2nd, 2013 release. Hit the jump to see the set photos.

You may know him as Remus Lupin from the Harry Potter films, but now David Thewlis is set to join another franchise. Thewlis will be a newcomer to Red 2, a sequel to director Robert Schwentke’s 2010 actioner. Dean Parisot (Galaxy Queset) is taking the helm this time around, but original stars Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and Mary-Louise Parker will be reprising their roles. Other new cast members include Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung-hun Lee, Neal McDonough and Anthony Hopkins. Hit the jump for more on Thewlis’ character and a breakdown of the roles we know so far.
