The first trailer for Robert Luketic’s thriller Paranoia is now available.  It does a nice job at setting up the premise of the film but, as is the current vogue, gives an awful lot of the plot away.  Liam Hemsworth stars as a blue-collar pawn caught in a game of espionage between two kings of industry, played by Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford.  The plot thickens when the long arm of the law reaches out for him, forcing him to play by his own set of rules to survive the game.  This one should be on your radar if only to watch Oldman and Ford battle it out and to see how Hemsworth handles the lead.

Also starring Lucas Till, Amber Heard, Embeth Davidtz, Julian McMahon, Josh Holloway and Domenick Lombardozzi, Paranoia opens August 16th.  Hit the jump to watch the trailer.

Screen Gems has released the first trailer for director Benson Lee’s dance competition film Battle of the Year. The film is based on the documentary of the same name that focused on the 2005 Battle of the Year and the B-boy (breakdancing) crews (teams) that took part in the competition.  Lost’s Josh Holloway stars as a basketball coach who reluctantly agrees to lead the team, which includes Josh Peck (The Wackness) and Chris Brown.  Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The film also stars Laz Alonso and Caity Lotz.  Battle of the Year opens on September 13th.

A bit of TV pilot casting, starting with an item for those of you who wondered where Josh Holloway went after Lost signed off in 2010:

• Holloway is back to play “a former Navy SEAL and dedicated intelligence officer” in the CBS drama Intelligence.
• Andre Braugher (Last Resort) and Melissa Fumero (One Life to Live) will star opposite Andy Samberg and Terry Crews in the untitled Fox sitcom from Parks and Recreation writers Mike Schur and Dan Goor.
• Maiara Walsh (Switched at Birth) will take over for Emma Stone to play Wichita in the Zombieland TV series.

Director David Ayer’s (End of Watch) upcoming action thriller Ten just nabbed a release date, but those itching to get a look at the film anytime soon will be sorely disappointed.  Open Road Films announced today that Ten will be released on January 24, 2014, which for you mathematicians out there is about 13 months away.  The film is loosely based on Agatha Christie’s classic mystery Ten Little Indians, as it centers on a DEA task force who heists a drug cartel safe house, only to start getting picked off one-by-one by an unknown assassin.  The impressive ensemble cast is lead by Arnold Schwarzenegger, with Sam Worthington, Joe Manganiello, Harold Perrineau, Terrence Howard, Josh Holloway, Max Martini (Revenge), Olivia Williams (Anna Karenina), and Mireille Enos (The Killing) rounding things out.

Currently no other film is slated for that same weekend in January 2014, but Open Road has also released a slightly new image from the film.  It’s incredibly similar to the first image of Schwarzenegger that was previously released, but this photo shows the actor striking a different (though no less intimidating) pose.  Hit the jump to read the press release and to take a look at the new image.

Thanks to social networking, we now have the first image of Arnold Schwarzenegger in director David Ayer’s new film, Ten.  Schwarzenegger tweeted the image earlier today, one that shows off a new look for the former Governor as he’s sporting a new haircut and a variety of new tattoos.  He’s also armed to the teeth and ready for battle in a police-issue bullet-proof vest, complete with knives, ammo and at least three guns.  Back when it was titled Breacher, Ayer said he wanted to “reinvent Arnold” during an interview with Steve.  You’ll have to decide for yourself whether or not he succeeded.  Hit the jump to check out the first image and for more on Schwarzenegger’s character.

Hot on the heels of the news that Universal is shifting Les Miserables to Christmas Day this year, a few changes and debuts set for some 2013 releases have been announced.  Briefly:

• I, Frankenstein – The graphic novel adaptation of the eponymous monster, played by Aaron Eckhart, has been pushed from February 22nd to September 13th, 2013.
• Battle of the Year – The breakdancing (or “B-boy”) film starring Josh Holloway, Josh Peck, and Chris Brown has been pushed from this January all the way to September 13th, 2013.
• Snitch – The action thriller starring Dwayne Johnson has been set for release on February 22nd, 2013.
• No Good Deed – The thriller featuring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson has been given a pre-Halloween release of October 18th, 2013.

• Abbie Cornish (Sucker Punch) has nabbed the female lead in Fellini Black and White, directed by Henry Bromell.

The first trailer for Battle of the Year, aka “That Movie Where Sawyer Coaches a Breakdancing Team,” has been released.  The film is based on the documentary of the same name that focused on the 2005 Battle of the Year and the B-boy (breakdancing) crews (teams) that took part in the competition.  Lost’s Josh Holloway stars as a basketball coach who reluctantly agrees to lead the team, which includes Josh Peck (The Wackness) and lady-beater Chris Brown.  The trailer plays out exactly as you’d expect, so if B-boy competitions are your thing I assume you’ll have some interest in Battle of the Year.  If not, the only highlight is in this trailer is seeing Chris Brown get punched in the face.

Filming has begun on Robert Luketic‘s thriller Paranoia.  The film stars Liam Hemsworth as a telecom employee who is blackmailed by his boss into spying on a rival company.  I don’t know if Hemsworth can lead a film, but he’s got a strong supporting cast backing him up on Paranoia.  The film also stars Gary Oldman, Harrison Ford, Lucas Till, Amber Heard, Embeth Davidtz, Julian McMahon, Josh Holloway, and Richard Dreyfuss.  While I think Hemsworth has leading man potential, I have far less faith in Luketic, whose previous films include 21, The Ugly Truth, and Killers.  However, the corporate-espionage world of Paranoia is a far cry from anything else Luketic has done, so maybe he’ll have his first good film since his feature debut, 2001′s Legally Blonde.

Paramount has released 17 new images and 5 set photos from Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.  The images show off spy-thriller shenanigans and director Brad Bird directing up a storm of spy-thriller shenanigans.  And as you can see from the image above, Tom Cruise is probably contemplating if it’s unreasonable to demand full bars if you’re in a cloud of debris.

Production has begun on Screen Gems’ breakdance-centered pic Planet B Boy. The film is based on the documentary of the same name that focused on the 2005 Battle of the Year and the B-boy (breakdancing) crews (teams) that took part in the competition. Directed by Benson Lee (who also directed the documentary) the film will focus on an all-star American B-boy crew training to compete in the Battle of the Year International Championships in France. The cast includes Josh Holloway, Laz Alonso (Avatar), Josh Peck (The Wackness), Caity Lotz (Mad Men) and recording artist/lady-fighter Chris Brown.

The script was written by Brin Hill and Chris Parker. Production begins with a brief shoot in Los Angeles before moving onto Montpellier, France. I think I speak for everyone when I say that I really, really hope we get to see a breakdancing Sawyer. Paramount has released the first trailer for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, the fourth entry in the spy franchise. The trailer is pretty much everything you want out of a Mission: Impossible movie, and it looks like it could be the best yet. The action looks great without being cheesy or showy, and the cast assembled here is top-notch. Plus, freaking Brad Bird (Ratatouille) is making his live-action directorial debut.

Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames reprise their series roles, joined by Jeremy Renner, Josh Holloway, Anil Kapoor, Léa Seydoux, and Vladimir Mashkov. Mission: Impossible III director J.J. Abrams is on board as producer.  Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol opens on December 16.  Watch the trailer after the jump.

Back in February we found out that Lost star Josh Holloway would have a guest spot in the season finale of Community. Well the first part of that finale airs next week and we now have a quick sneak peek at his appearance on the comedy series. A Fistful of Paintballs is the first part in a two-part season finale for the series that will be somewhat of a sequel to last season’s stellar Modern Warfare paintball episode. Holloway plays a new bad-ass on Greendale’s campus known as Black Rider. Check out this great preview of his appearance after the jump, and be sure to tune in May 5th at 8/7c to check out the full episode.

We haven’t seen him on TV since he was marooned on a mysterious island in Lost, but now Josh Holloway (who played James “Sawyer” Ford) is set to return to TV in a great way. EW reports Holloway is closing a deal to have a guest spot in the two-part season finale of Community which will air sometime in May. The finale will attempt to capture the same magic that made their “Modern Warfare” paintball episode such the best episode of the series by returning to the game again. Holloway will be playing a mysterious figure who emerges on campus during another game of paintball. The two-part finale is sort of a sequel to the last episode, but isn’t that how every episode of a TV series works.
