The first trailer for the documentary I Know That Voice has gone online. The film takes a look at the talented actors behind some of the most familiar voices in TV, film, and video games. Yes, Movie Trailer Guy (his name is David Kaye) is there, but also included in the documentary are Futurama’s Billy West, Rocky and Bullwinkle’s June Foray, and the voice of Batman himself, Kevin Conroy. I think voice-over work is an excellent subject for a documentary, and this trailer gives a fun look at the people behind those familiar characters. Most interesting, perhaps, is the fact that many of them look absolutely nothing like the characters they voice.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer, and be sure to have IMDb up and running. No release date is scheduled for the pic, but hopefully we get a look at it sooner rather than later.

I was brought up on Batman: The Animated Series. The voices of the characters are those characters to me, and even more so because the series still holds up. Kevin Conroy is Batman. Then Superman: The Animated Series brought us Tim Daly do a solid job voicing the Man of Steel. Finally, Justice League came along and provided great voices to The Flash (Michael Rosenbaum), Wonder Woman (Susan Eisenberg), and Martian Manhunter (Carl Lumbly). The upcoming DC Universe animated film Justice League: Doom will bring all these voices back along with Nathan Fillion reprising his role as the voice of Green Lantern/Hal Jordan. You can’t go wrong with Andrea Romano as your voice-casting director.
All of these superheroes will be “on their heels when a team of super villains discover and implement the Dark Knight’s ‘contingency plans’ for stopping any rogue Justice League member. The story is inspired by Mark Waid’s much-heralded JLA: Tower of Babel.” The DC animated films are a mixed bag, but I’ll be on board for this voice cast and because it’s the final script from the late Dwayne McDuffie (All-Star Superman). Hit the jump for the full press release. Justice League: Doom is due out in early 2012.

If you are a fan of Batman, in any medium, chances are extremely high that you recognize the name Kevin Conroy. That’s because he’s voiced Batman / Bruce Wayne in no less than six animated series, seven animated films, and five video games. As DC and Rocksteady Games presented the newest game to feature Conroy’s inimitable voice: Arkham City, I got the chance to sit down with Conroy for a candid interview at Comic-Con in which he discussed the differences between video games and animation, his respect for the fans, and how everyone knows the voice of Batman–even the homeless. Check out the full video after the jump.

Who would have thought that “Batman: Arkham Asylum, the latest Batman videogame in series which has fallen notoriously short on its trips to home consoles, would come up as one of the best-reviewed and best-selling games of 2009 when it made its next-gen debut on XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3? Well, I did. I watched all the trailers, knew that the story was by Paul Dini, that Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy were coming back as The Joker and Batman, respectively, and that this would be the first adaptation to actually take advantage of Batman’s abilities beyond his fighting skills and the darkness of the character’s attitude which sets him apart from all the other big-name superheroes.
“Batman: Arkham Asylum” is better than every Batman adaptation including “The Dark Knight”. Hit the jump to find out why before your brain explodes.
