The audience at a recent taping of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory was treated to a bit of a surprise, as the show’s cast and crew spontaneously broke into a flash mob just before a scene was set to begin. Set to that song that will not go away, “Call Me Maybe,” the ratings-dominating comedy’s crew was joined by cast members Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, and more in what was actually planned as a surprise for the series’ showrunners, Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady, and Steven Molaro. The video is worthwhile if only to see Blossom’s Mayim Bialik get down behind a very enthusiastic Kaley Cuoco. Hit the jump to watch the video.

The second full trailer for Ice Age: Continental Drift has been released. The fourth installment in the Ice Age franchise finds the kooky characters attempting to survive the breakup of Pangea, when Earth’s supercontinent begins to rift. Though I’m not the biggest fan of the series, there are more than a few laughs to be found in this latest trailer. The MVP of the franchise has always been John Leguizamo’s Sid the Sloth, and he shines in this latest clip. We also get a glimpse of the film’s antagonists, a gang of pirates led by a prehistoric orangutan voiced by Peter Dinklage.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The voice-cast includes Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Wedge, John Leguizamo, Aziz Ansari, Nick Frost, Joy Behar, JB Smoove, Alan Tudyk, Heather Morris, Josh Gad, Kunal Nayyar, Alain Chabat, and hip/hop artist Nicki Minaj. Ice Age: Continental Drift opens in 3D on July 13th.

Principal photography has started today on a couple of interesting productions. Here they are at a glance:
- Therese, formerly known as Therese Raquin, is an erotic thriller starring Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene), Oscar Isaac (Drive), Tom Felton (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and Jessica Lange (American Horror Story).
- Graphic novel adaptation, The Scribbler, also started production with Katie Cassidy (Taken) set to star.
Hit the jump for much more on both projects.

A new trailer for the fourth installment in the Ice Age franchise, Ice Age: Continental Drift, has gone online. In this adventure, Scrat accidentally triggers the breakup of Pangea and thus the splitting of the continents while pursuing that ever-elusive acorn (seriously, there are other acorns in the world, Scrat). This trailer highlights this entry’s newest inhabitants: the Gigantopithecus (an extinct genus of ape). I’m not the biggest fan of the series, but kids seem to love it and the movies make a great deal of money at the box office so I guess there’s an audience for the fourth entry.

The voice-cast includes Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Wedge, John Leguizamo, Aziz Ansari, Nick Frost, Joy Behar, JB Smoove, Alan Tudyk, Heather Morris, Josh Gad, Kunal Nayyar, Alain Chabat, and hip/hop artist Nicki Minaj. Ice Age: Continental Drift opens in 3D on July 13th.

The cast and creators of TV’s “smartest, funniest and now Emmy-nominated” The Big Bang Theory dropped in on Comic-Con today to talk about the upcoming 5th season of the popular series. Executive producers Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady and Steve Molaro joined principal cast Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch on stage. In a nice touch for fans of the show, Carol Ann Susi provided the disembodied voice of Mrs. Wolowitz to introduce the panel. Hit the jump for more behind-the-scenes shenanigans and sneak peeks of the upcoming season.

“The Nerd Empire Strikes Back” for season three of The Big Bang Theory and the gang is back and up to their usual shenanigans. Raj is still too nervous to talk around Penny, Howard is willing to try anything to get laid (even almost get a tattoo), Sheldon is still a hilarious and neurotic mess, and Leonard and Penny are dating. Wait a minute, that’s a new development… Now Sheldon has to deal with being the third wheel to Penny and Leonard’s tumultuous and severely awkward relationship. This season delivers the same amount of laughs as the last two and Sheldon is still the NERD KING, but the flaws of the more standard sitcom jokes and some performances are starting to stick out more this time around.

A show I really love is “The Big Bang Theory”. While the first two seasons were good, this latest season has been the best so far. That’s because it feels like the writers have found all the characters voices and they’re delivering some of the best situational comedy on TV. The fact is…if you read a site like Collider and you’re not watching “The Big Bang Theory”, you’re missing out on a show that you’d really like.
Anyway, at last night’s 2009 Scream Awards, I managed to speak with Kunal Nayyar (Rajesh Koothrappali on “Big Bang Theory”) and we talked about how this season has been going and a lot more. Watch the interview after the jump:

With Comic-Con 2009 fast approaching, get ready for a ton of updates about what’s going on at this year’s convention. Since there is no reason to ramble on, I’ll keep all the intros brief.
If you’re a fan of either “The Big Bang Theory” or “Fringe”, both shows will be there and both are bringing the cast and creators. While production on the shows start around the convention, they will still have some fun videos to watch. The info on both is after the jump:
