We’ve got a couple of casting stories to share this evening.  First up, Les Miserables star Samantha Barks is looking to continue her musical streak.  Barks makes her big screen debut in director Tom Hooper’s upcoming musical adaptation, repeating the same role she played on stage in the London West End production of Les Mis, and now she’s looking to tackle another music-geared film.  The Wrap reports that Barks is in talks to join the cast of the musical comedy Walking on Sunshine.

The film is set to 1980s pop songs and centers on a mother and daughter who fall in love with the same man in Spain.  Kylie Minogue is set in the mother role, and Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini are set to direct.  Hit the jump for casting news concerning a slew of actors joining the comedy Walk of Shame.

Two new clips from Leos Carax‘s Holy Motors have been released.  The film took me completely by surprise when I caught it at Fantastic Fest, and it’s one of my favorite movies this year.  It’s difficult to explain, but one of these clips is probably the most important scene when it comes to understanding the central character’s motivations and the premise of the film, although the intricacies and delightful details spread throughout the picture.  As for the other clip, it’s a brief moment of Kylie Minogue‘s character breaking out into song, but it’s only a small part of a larger, more emotional scene.

Hit the jump to check out the clips.  The film stars Denis Lavant, Edith Scob, and Eva MendesHoly Motors is currently playing in New York City, and will continue to expand over the weeks ahead.

From writer/director Leos Crax (The Lovers on the Bridge) comes Holy Motors, a off-the-rails journey that follows a day in the life of an actor who transforms into nine different characters across multiple genres.  The first trailer for the French film has gone online and you can make of it what you will, but without seeing the whole film, I’m completely lost but enjoying the ride.  Check out Matt Goldberg’s review of the film from Fantastic Fest 2012 to get caught up.

Holy Motors, starring Denis Lavant, Edith Scob, Kylie Minogue and Eva Mendes, is touring the festival circuit.  Hit the jump to watch the new trailer.

First Trailer for JACK AND DIANE Starring Juno Temple and Riley Keough

The first trailer for the tumultuous, horror love story Jack and Diane has been released.  The film stars Juno Temple (The Dark Knight Rises) and Riley Keough (The Runaways) as two teenage girls who fall passionately in love and must come to terms with the ramifications of their feelings (ie. the affair causes changes in one of the girls’ body).  Judging solely from the trailer, the film seems to have a bit of a “Like Crazy on acid” vibe.  The handheld, intimate scenes between Temple and Keough are intercut with animated sequences that are apparently revealing what’s happening in Keough’s character’s body.  I’m fairly certain I saw a braid of hair twist around her insides, which I can only assume is a bad thing.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  Directed by Bradley Rust Gray, the film also stars Cara Seymour and Kylie MinogueJack and Diane will be available on iTunes starting September 28th, and hits theaters on November 2nd.
